to be honest, i don't know. the seed is in germany posing as american. the actual game is supposed to be about 8.3 GB although a 4.3 gb was released (brawl is a dual layered disc) that works mainly on the vs mode, no adventure mode and videos (http://www.stage6.com/user/panyawo/video/2173757/Wii---3-minutes-Hacking#) using only one layer of the full game. if its real then its a good way to pass the time until the actual game comes out

No this will be the real version. It has been fully dumped. It works on US Wiis but only VS and the movies crash but it's better than nothing. It will also work on PAL Wiis but only VS and on 50HZ with possibly more crashes but again it's better than nothing especially considering how our version is expected in July.

I thought I should add for any newbies; Update to the latest update, don't try the SSE it'll just crash, stick to VS/wifi. You will get double channels, but you Won't get bricked/semi bricked. A few people aid they used regionFrii I would suggest this + burning at 2x speed. The update in SSBX is just so the Wii can read dual layer discs(Brawl is the first to do so). I would also like to say: keep your Upload limit high, share the wealth

This release is real, however, pretty much everything that involves movies does not work and will cause crash. -This is a DVD5 release, which means it's stripped down from the original disc and therefore has a bunch of complications. -It works on NTSC systems without problems on any modchip that is able to play Mario Galaxy as well. -It works on PAL systems, but just in 50hz. -It possibly involves more crashing, but at least the VS and some other modes are playable.

Update your Wii before you play or you risk a brick. eg. Your wii should be 3.1 And any chip that takes Galaxy will play this release. ( you may have to use regionfrii depending on your region )

This is the real version sorta, it's just VS/Wifi etc. No one player. Yes DVD-R is fine, 2x or 4x Imageburner or nero or really any good ISO burner will work. Yes use regionfrii. You will need a dual layer disc if the full version becomes available to people outside of the Wii scene. Apparently there's still a few problems with the Dual Layer version (not just backups but the retail version) as the Wii laser might be a bit weak in some cases to penetrate to the 2nd layer. Nintendo's response is a "dirty lens" Also thus far the Wiikey won't work with Dual Layer. Their apparently working on a fix though.

@ BobbysWorldFoSho Look for a save file on the internet which has all the characters, and download it, save it to an SD Card and load to your Wii. Should work just fine. I didn't try it yet, but it is said to do the trick.

Just stopping for a quick break!!! Yes it works! I also have Ness For those asking; Let it update all the way(all you get is an extra news/weather channel that can be moved out the way). In melee you could unlock all characters by doing a set amount of VS matches I presume this would work. For those with different modchips it should work fine. I'm pretty sure Brawl does not allow the copying of save games to an SD, I could be wrong. CrazyK3vin, yes it works!! ciruz: Lett he update finish and it'll work fine. Make sure your on 50HZ like me since your also PAL. I gave instructions already follow them to safety and brawl godliness!

Ok heres what i did with a NTSC USA Wii with wiikey modchip installed: 1. downloaded the iso and burned it speed 1x. 2.Downloaded Wii setup 1.3 and burned NTSC. 3. Downloaded and burned Wiikey 1.9g USA version 4.Loaded the wii up with wii setup 1.3 and turned region free on saved settings reset console and ejected the cd. 5. Loaded up Wii key update 1.9g and let the thing update and once it hit 100% there was an error. it said stuff like test connections and try again. 6. loaded the game smash brothers x and it asked for an update, shoiuld i update or no? cuz the wiikey didnt update for some reason, and when i went to go check the wii setup 1.3 the region free was set back off again. can someone help me with this problem? thanks.

I've got a PAL Wiikey (bought at the launch of the console in Europe) with firmware 3.1E and the WiiKey firmware 1.9G (the one for Super Mario Galaxy). After having downloaded the NTSC-JAP game, I just burnt it at 4x and put it on the Wii. The console asked then for an update (the one for the support of the dual layered disk), I answered "yes" not without any fear. The update ended w/o any problem, and excluding the Jap duplicates of the news/weather, nothing changed on the console (at least at this time). And the game works like a charm! Well, not so good in fact, single player is very slow and, as mentionned in the txt, always freezes at the end . Multiplayer also freezes sometimes without any reason, but not as much as the single part (approx. 1 in 10-15 matches). So yeah, normally no risk for the PAL Wii with WiiKey . Enjoy!

you need to dl wii setup 1.3 find it on google. ok guys i need help. I updated the wii when i put in brawl and it loads up fine. i see brawl start up the cd went in and i pressed start and it started to load up, but it said error #001 unauthorized device has been detected. I updated wii key 1.9g used region override and started up brawl, and it said that error #001... can anyone help me out with this.

Did you use RegionFrii on Brawl? Are you on PAL or NT? Where you fully updated on wiikey and the wii? Your using the same modchip as me and if you followed the instructions there should not be any problems as mine works fine.

yes it did, and my brothers friend did the same thing as i did and it works for him but for mines it says error error #001, unauthorized device has been detected. do i have to get a new wii key?

Wiihead: They do ask the same question alot but some people can't be arsed reading every post -_- Hardze: in a Wii French? You mean you own a French Wii? It should work, French Wiis use PAL so it should work just fine as long as you have a chipped Wii & remember to follow the instructions. Also for those of you have any problems read all the posts it may already have been solved/answered.

You just beat me there It could be that a leg has come loose on the Wiikey. If you done the mod yourself just open your Wii and check the chip. I really can't think of anything else, I'm sure there's some out there who does know and can answer it though. To crazyk3vin: It can be because you havent patched the update 1.9b. My friend updated 1.9g before update 1.9b and then it didnt work for him. Safest way is to go 1.9b, then config disk 1.3 then update 1.9b. Otherwise just 1.9b then try to see if brawl works, if not then try config disc 1.3 and set the settings to regionoverdrive: ON, And disc speed at 3x. Try it.

answered my own question, it doesn'twork but my wii isn't busted either. should be simple enough to mod, it is an initial uk wii (got on release day) so the points to solder should be easy to find.

Even tho holyriot seems to understand that better than me lol... wiihead, sorry if we're asking too many questions, but the thing is I don't know much about these other programs like Regionfrii and Brickblocker. I've heard many people talking about that Wii Setup 1.3, initially I thought it was the Wii Update 3.1 mistyped, but then again it seems to be some program I don't know about. Is it a modchip update, something about isos and patching, or an oficial Nintendo update? Also, everyone here seems to have WiiKey. I have D2CKey. Do I still need Regionfrii and that Wii Setup 1.3?

OK, so i finished the DL. I extracted used RegionFrii to change it to US, tried burning it, did not work, than i tried extracting it to make a data disc, because thats what an iso is anyways. I used winrar, winace, windows default, but its telling me there is nothing to extract. its says its 4.37GB, but 0 kb when i try to open it...W.T.F...can someone help....?

Dmuerto1986, are you using an ISO Burner or just data-copying it to a DVD? You should get a program to burn ISO images to a DVD, Nero can do so. wiihead, I have and can play Super Mario Galaxy with no problems. I've read somewhere that Brickblocker will actually block the dual layer update, is that true?

I got the game to work. I used Squidward's "Metroid 15%" trick . NOTE: After this method, I DO NOT have dual channels of News and Weather, and my WiFi / Home button / Message Board STILL WORKS 100%. To sum up: 1) I burned two copies of the game, both at 4x on Memorex DVD-R: 1 was a straight burn, the other had been patched by BrickBlocker 1.3, available here: http://rockman.18.free.fr/img/WiiBrickBlocker_v1_3.rar 2) I then inserted the STRAIGHT copy of SSBB into my Wii, and I was prompted for an update. (This update would have given me the dual channels and other problems if I had let it reach 100%) 3) I started the update, but then at around 15%, when the update bar was under the "w" of "Power," I unplugged my console. 4) I then re-plugged my console, and inserted the BrickBlocked DVD of SSBB. The game works using this disc. Note: after using this method, throw out you copy that is NOT BrickBlocked, because it is useless.

I'm always iffy about running an update off a DVD. Using BrickBlocker to stop the update crashes the wii when you try to run it. I know people are saying it's a dual later DVD update, I can't see why thats on this disc yet not on a live update? I think I'll wait till someone makes a patch for this, surely someone can figure out a to hook the iso so it returns true for the update?

I've burn the game and done the upgrade. i can load the game but i dont have any video ,only sound. I ve check that i need to be on 50hz.. But Arghh!! When I want to change my wii config on wii parameters, i have a error message without code error which say : "Internet Connection probleme with opera.. check Opera help..." However All my games works fines I've a Wii PAL and a WIIkey.. Can you help me?

Got the game to work. I personally used 1.9b first, but couldn't get it to work, kept getting error 001. Afterwards put in the 1.9g update and it worked fine. Friend codes work for wifi play, but cannot play on Japanese servers it seems.

I have a japan version wii firware 3.1J with wiikey. I updated wiikey to 1.9b and also used the config 1.3. when i first inserted brawl, it rebooted my wii. i went back to disc channel and it automatically started update. after that, my wii could read the disc. i selected start in the disc channel to load the game and i got the error #001. any help? thanks guys.

Download the 1.9g beta disc and 1.3 wiikey setup disc, just search in yahoo or google, shouldn't be too hard to find. Burn the cds and update your wii. Turn on region override for the 1.3 setup disc. Connection fails probably means you need stable wireless connection. I use a US system with 3.1U firmware along with a wiikey. I also used regionfrii to patch the game (may want to create a backup of the file before doing it in case it doesn't work for you).

ok guys, if i play the game there is a green line above my tv. and then the game is slow even the brawl and wifi mode. put sometimes theres not a green line and then i can play the wifi mode normally with people not slow. but most times the green line is present. if somebody knows a method where i can play normal tell me pleas. (sorry about my english)
