Because I got this game to work, I will explain to others how to get theirs to work as well. I am disappointed by the lack of instructions and mess this torrent contains. You're going to need Daemon Tools 1 - Mount Civilization 3 Complete Edition cd1 of 3.iso 2 - Civilization 3 Complete Edition cd2 of 3.iso (when the install asks for it) 3 - Civilization 3 Complete Edition cd3 of 3.iso (when the install asks for it) 4 - Once all 3 are installed, find and install the Civ3 patch version 1.22 (Also known as "Civilization III: Conquests Patch v1.22") 5 - Go to GameCopyWorld.com and find a "Fixed Exe" or "No-CD" 6. when the game wants you to insert a disk, it means you haven't "used" (i'm not sure what verb should go there) the no-cd crack, to do this: 1. go to the fake cd made by combining the iso with a program like daemon tools lite 2. you have to right-click the fake cd and choose the 'explore' option 3. find and go into the crack folder, commonly known as 'crack' 4. copy the crack app/.exe and paste it into the folder with all the files of the game you want to play 5. it'll ask you if you want to replace the other .exe that was already there 6. choose option 3 so the .exe you are adding to the folder gets a name change 7. double-click the .exe you just added 8. if this doesn't work, take the original .exe and move it to another place (example: desktop) happy gaming

Holy F! THAT was confusing but ultimately, worth it. Some tips for neophytes like me: DO NOT attempt to get in to Civ/Conquest files through "Program files" on your Green Start Bar. For me, this was useless and frustrating. The ONLY way to access the "Conquest Folder" and copy the no cd into it is to go through My Computer - Disk Drive (C, in my case) - Program Files - Atari - CivIII - Conquests Folder. From there, you can literally drag and drop the No CD crack right in and, lo and behold, after hours of futility, you will hear the sweet, familiar synthesized drum ditty of Civilization III. Some of you "experts" may be thinking, "this guy's a tool," but after reading comment after comment from Mininova to Pirate Bay to Torrent Hound, about every Civ d/l in existence, it seems we are living in a world of "tools." If I help just one poor soul find their way from "almost there" to "holy ****, I'm playing!" then it will have all been worth it. Happy Settling!
