This movie is playable on PS3 with firmware 2.10 installed. However, since the PS3 can't play DivX files bigger than 2 Gb this movie stops at about 1 hour 19 min. Other then that, great release with good quality, both picture and sound.

I can confirm that the PS3 will not play past the 2GB mark. Should make files 1.99GB to be "safe" and if need be then split the movie into two files. It will play and then stop when it gets to the 2GB spot of the file. This 2GB limitation is for AVI fies. The PS3 will do MP4 up to 4GB in file size. Please keep up the good work but limit the file size otherwise stop saying PS3 capable.

Sony just announced firmware 2.20 for the Sony PS3 and one of the new features will be support of DivX files that are longer than 2GB although I assume 4GB will still be the limit for all media files. This is great news. I will test and report back once 2.20 is out ... this is to happen within the "next few days" according to Sony.

Re: Vectras query, what i tend to do mate is just copy the file directly onto a dvd and play it that way, then you dont have to actually stream it, you may need to connect to xbox live to watch it though, and one question for drfarnsworth Hi mate, truly great rips, just wondering if you know of a way to convert mkv into something i can watch on my xbox 360 or ps3 without a loss in sound quality or pic quality, thanks a lot in advance mate

You should burn it to a DVD as a regular data file, NOT as a DVD-format movie. A standard DVD will do fine, just don't select the DVD video option in your burning program. Note that xbox is extremely sensitive to scratches so make sure it's a good disk. You can also play from a usb stick or HD. manc07: try encode360 or ps3 video 9.

This is the stuff legend are made of, great hd rips, i had the same problem with the video's ending too soon only on my ps3 though, all i did was download an 'avi splitter' and then put the files on my ps3 and they play right to the end so i'm pressumng its not an error on the files. much apriciate the work drfarnsworth and i'll look forward to your future rips. PS if anybody does come up with a solution to playing the mkv files on ps3 post it somewhere as they are giving me a headache. Sony need to get there act together that system should be able to play anything yet there are constant file problems with it

bstep, the file on my computer is 1:27:10. Try having your torrent client do a recheck: it may have download incorrectly. Several hundred people have downloaded this with no complaints.

Achmat, this is a divx file. It is playable on xbox360s and PS3s. It is intended to be burned to a standard DVD or streamed to one of those consoles or watched on a computer. It will probably not play on a bluray player. That is simply the source.

I'm wondering why this flick and your other release, the thing, are so small. I've downloaded both... great quality, got me wrapped up in watching them again... then they stop 20 minutes before the ending... Both of them. Rechecked the files and the properties on the original download indicate the same time, inadequate to hold the full movie. So it would appear that they are both short releases... I haven't done any encoding or altering of the original files... just downloaded and played. Any suggestions, because something is missing. JimmyNice.

New to HD downloads, Drfarnsworth your files loo great. Just a quick question, if I want to watch this in HD on my tv, I presume the only way to do this is to stream it through the 360? limarta, You need something that can decode AC3 codec sound. I don't use a mac so I can't tell you where to find it. I think there's a mac version of VLC player that might player it on its own.

As far as I'm aware the PS3 will only play files that are 2gb or lower. This file is 2.16gb, that is most likely the reason with the cutting short at the end. I'd imagine it's only with files directly on the PS3's HDD though.

Firmware 2.2- is due "late March" and one of it's features is the ability to play filed larger than 2gb, so if you've kept this download it'll play perfectly from then on.
