I double-clicked on the setup file and my anti-virus (Avast) reported a trojan. Now, when Avast reports a generic trojan rather than a specific one, I don't worry. It's probably a false positive. So I disabled Avast. But what's this? There's another setup dialogue on the go. It wants me to install HeroCodec. I've never heard of it. A quick look round the internet reveals that it's some kind of video codec, but that many people report spyware/adware as being bundled with it. So I'm not installing that. I cancel the HeroCodec installation. Vegas installs just fine and asks me to register. I select online registration and allow it to use the fake info that was already in there from Vegas 7. It waits for an authentication cookie.... and it gets it. I start Vegas 8 and it runs just fine. I open a .veg project I've got lying around. It works just fine. It renders out okay too. So then I donwload the update to 8.0c like Vegas is suggesting. It downloads and installs just fine. But when Vegas loads, the splash box says that I've only got 30 days remaining for evaluation. Somehow, Vegas has reverted to a trial version. Not good. So I uninstall Vegas 8 completely. I go into the registry and I remove everything that says Sony on it from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software and HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software. Then I reinstall Vegas 8.0a (from this torrent). It installs just fine and doesn't ask for any registration info... so it's getting it's data from somewhere else and not those Sony keys I deleted from the registry. I run it and it works just fine and doesn't say anything about 30 days remaining. I think I'll just leave it alone now. Anyway. That's what happened to me. I'm running a genuine copy of XP with all the patches and updates. I already had Vegas 7 installed. 7 stopped working after everything I did and I had to re-enter a serial number for it. But apart from that... everything was fine. I'd suggest you don't update to 8.0c

- You DO NOT need to have 7 installed first, thats for those who had the trial installed and registration fails. To fix this you need to delete the SonyMedia keys from registry then install fresh...thats why some have an issue. Unfortunately you need to be connected to internet at least for the initial registration, after that you can choose to block access or use with no internet connection at all.
- Oh well. That computer has never been connected. Only for video and audio-use. Can't install explorer and such again for connecting. That computer is "cleaned" of all unused progs. - Hello FotoNut! I have the same problem, but I figure out how to crack, you are running Vista right? if so run the keygen by running it as an administrator (right click then Run as administrator) then apply patch. Then run Vegas pro ang apply the Serial ang Autho.

- Okay to all the people still unsure of how to do this.. Install the program. Then google "Sony Products Keygen and Patch Only READ NFO-DI" Then download the files in that torrent Then unzip the thingy and get into the keygen (vista remember to right click and run as admin otherwise wont work) then in the drop down thing go to sony vegas 8.0 then select the sony vegas folder (c:/program files/sony/vegas 8.0 or something similar i cant remember.) then click PATCH. Then, dont close the keygen... open up vegas and put in the serial key. and then follow the steps and put in details (i faked it..) and then itll save the little html thing somewhere but that doesnt matter. and then put in the authorization key that is given also by the keygen. then it works... yeah.... so you have to PATCH vegas before it will accept the authorisation code. enjoy everyone.. i know i will!

- Disregard - Solved it! If anyone gets the above error COULD OT OPEN NETWORK LOCATION, goto Start-->Run-->Regedit. Then find any SONY Registry entries and DELETE THEM. Restart the Computer, then reinstall. Worked for me like a charm

- I followed sonicsleep's instructions and it works fine for me. I have XP. After you install the program, but before you open up the program and actually run it, you have to use that patch. Then enter the serial number. Then it asks whether you want to register online or from another computer. I choose from another computer. It opens up a window with your personal information. Enter whatever, and it saves this to a file on your computer, which you are told to email to sony in order to get an activation code. Don't worry about that, because when you hit the next button it takes you where you enter the activation code, which the keygen provides. After you put in the activation code, the program will run. You can even download the update, Vegas Pro 8b. If you PATCH it first, and follow the same steps, the same keygen will work for the update. Thanks! Will seed this one.

- once again, PlanetMaster has provided a perfect download. There is NO need for a seperate keygen, serial, authorization number, or anything. simply install the program, select register online, put in some info, whatever, it will register perfectly. It threw me off for a bit, because it was slightly different from his other sony programs, which required the keygen. I messed it up, but I uninstalled it, and installed it again, and actually followed the directions, and it worked perfectly.... The first time you run the program, you have to register it online, or it will not work. Thanks a lot!

First off this has no serial or activation key because I hacked the program and made it a corporate version which basically means its a plug and play install INSTALL You will need M$ .NET Framework 3 installed, if you dont the program will do it for you. To save time just install it from the M$ site. Install the program via SonyVegasPro80a-ce_enu.exe Run the program Choose register online, yes thats online, use false or real info, doesnt matter. - If you can't get the online registration to work: 1. choose the 'register from another computer' option 2. save the .html file somewhere on your HD 3. open the html file in a browser. It should forward you to a registration page. 4. open a free email account somewhere or use your own (not recommended) and use it to get your activation code. 5. copy and paste activation code into the text box. - Let me greatly simplify things for those of you having problems. Search for the keygen-patch program by this hash: D5971637F42A35E261379F2FFA0FAE88C31637D1 (in fact you can just google it or search on newtorrents.info for it). first run the keygen and patch Sony Vegas. you must choose the correct product first, it isn't selected by default. Run the keygen-patcher as administrator on vista if you have UAC turned on (this is the default for vista). Then run Vegas, do register on another pc. save the htm file, you can just delete it when you're done. Type in some B.S. like I used Microsoft's name and address and then hit next. Click generate in the keygen and copy the numbers into Vegas. it is as simple as that. Enjoy! Next

- You DO NOT need to have 7 installed first, thats for those who had the trial installed and registration fails. To fix this you need to delete the SonyMedia keys from registry then install fresh...thats why some have an issue. Unfortunately you need to be connected to internet at least for the initial registration, after that you can choose to block access or use with no internet connection at all.

- Okay to all the people still unsure of how to do this.. Install the program. Then google "Sony Products Keygen and Patch Only READ NFO-DI" Then download the files in that torrent Then unzip the thingy and get into the keygen (vista remember to right click and run as admin otherwise wont work) then in the drop down thing go to sony vegas 8.0 then select the sony vegas folder (c:/program files/sony/vegas 8.0 or something similar i cant remember.) then click PATCH. Then, dont close the keygen... open up vegas and put in the serial key. and then follow the steps and put in details (i faked it..) and then itll save the little html thing somewhere but that doesnt matter. and then put in the authorization key that is given also by the keygen. then it works... yeah.... so you have to PATCH vegas before it will accept the authorisation code. enjoy everyone.. i know i will!

- Disregard - Solved it! If anyone gets the above error COULD OT OPEN NETWORK LOCATION, goto Start-->Run-->Regedit. Then find any SONY Registry entries and DELETE THEM. Restart the Computer, then reinstall. Worked for me like a charm

- I followed sonicsleep's instructions and it works fine for me. I have XP. After you install the program, but before you open up the program and actually run it, you have to use that patch. Then enter the serial number. Then it asks whether you want to register online or from another computer. I choose from another computer. It opens up a window with your personal information. Enter whatever, and it saves this to a file on your computer, which you are told to email to sony in order to get an activation code. Don't worry about that, because when you hit the next button it takes you where you enter the activation code, which the keygen provides. After you put in the activation code, the program will run. You can even download the update, Vegas Pro 8b. If you PATCH it first, and follow the same steps, the same keygen will work for the update. Thanks! Will seed this one.

- once again, PlanetMaster has provided a perfect download. There is NO need for a seperate keygen, serial, authorization number, or anything. simply install the program, select register online, put in some info, whatever, it will register perfectly. I messed it up, but I uninstalled it, and installed it again, and actually followed the directions, and it worked perfectly.... Search for the keygen-patch program by this hash: D5971637F42A35E261379F2FFA0FAE88C31637D1 (in fact you can just google it or search on newtorrents.info for it). first run the keygen and patch Sony Vegas. you must choose the correct product first, it isn't selected by default. Run the keygen-patcher as administrator on vista if you have UAC turned on (this is the default for vista). Then run Vegas, do register on another pc. save the htm file, you can just delete it when you're done. Type in some B.S. like I used Microsoft's name and address and then hit next. Click generate in the keygen and copy the numbers into Vegas. it is as simple as that. Enjoy! Next

- I hear you have to install version 7 first, then install this version and then register with false info. Great so far!! I knwo this will work. But how can you make it work on a computer wich is not (ever) connected with the internet?
- You DO NOT need to have 7 installed first, thats for those who had the trial installed and registration fails. To fix this you need to delete the SonyMedia keys from registry then install fresh...thats why some have an issue. Unfortunately you need to be connected to internet at least for the initial registration, after that you can choose to block access or use with no internet connection at all.
- Oh well. That computer has never been connected. Only for video and audio-use. Can't install explorer and such again for connecting. That computer is "cleaned" of all unused progs. - Okay to all the people still unsure of how to do this.. Install the program. Then google "Sony Products Keygen and Patch Only READ NFO-DI" Then download the files in that torrent Then unzip the thingy and get into the keygen (vista remember to right click and run as admin otherwise wont work) then in the drop down thing go to sony vegas 8.0 then select the sony vegas folder (c:/program files/sony/vegas 8.0 or something similar i cant remember.) then click PATCH. Then, dont close the keygen... open up vegas and put in the serial key. and then follow the steps and put in details (i faked it..) and then itll save the little html thing somewhere but that doesnt matter. and then put in the authorization key that is given also by the keygen. then it works... yeah.... so you have to PATCH vegas before it will accept the authorisation code. enjoy everyone.. i know i will!

- Disregard - Solved it! If anyone gets the above error COULD OT OPEN NETWORK LOCATION, goto Start-->Run-->Regedit. Then find any SONY Registry entries and DELETE THEM. Restart the Computer, then reinstall. Worked for me like a charm

- I followed sonicsleep's instructions and it works fine for me. I have XP. After you install the program, but before you open up the program and actually run it, you have to use that patch. Then enter the serial number. Then it asks whether you want to register online or from another computer. I choose from another computer. It opens up a window with your personal information. Enter whatever, and it saves this to a file on your computer, which you are told to email to sony in order to get an activation code. Don't worry about that, because when you hit the next button it takes you where you enter the activation code, which the keygen provides. After you put in the activation code, the program will run. You can even download the update, Vegas Pro 8b. If you PATCH it first, and follow the same steps, the same keygen will work for the update. Thanks! Will seed this one.

- once again, PlanetMaster has provided a perfect download. There is NO need for a seperate keygen, serial, authorization number, or anything. simply install the program, select register online, put in some info, whatever, it will register perfectly. It threw me off for a bit, because it was slightly different from his other sony programs, which required the keygen. I messed it up, but I uninstalled it, and installed it again, and actually followed the directions, and it worked perfectly.... - Let me greatly simplify things for those of you having problems. Search for the keygen-patch program by this hash: D5971637F42A35E261379F2FFA0FAE88C31637D1 (in fact you can just google it or search on newtorrents.info for it). first run the keygen and patch Sony Vegas. you must choose the correct product first, it isn't selected by default. Run the keygen-patcher as administrator on vista if you have UAC turned on (this is the default for vista). Then run Vegas, do register on another pc. save the htm file, you can just delete it when you're done. Type in some B.S. like I used Microsoft's name and address and then hit next. Click generate in the keygen and copy the numbers into Vegas. it is as simple as that. Enjoy! Next

Then google "Sony Products Keygen and Patch Only READ NFO-DI" Then download the files in that torrent Then unzip the thingy and get into the keygen (vista remember to right click and run as admin otherwise wont work) then in the drop down thing go to sony vegas 8.0 then select the sony vegas folder (c:/program files/sony/vegas 8.0 or something similar i cant remember.) then click PATCH. Then, dont close the keygen... open up vegas and put in the serial key. and then follow the steps and put in details (i faked it..) and then itll save the little html thing somewhere but that doesnt matter. and then put in the authorization key that is given also by the keygen. then it works... yeah.... so you have to PATCH vegas before it will accept the authorisation code. enjoy everyone.. i know i will!

After you install the program, but before you open up the program and actually run it, you have to use that patch. Then enter the serial number. Then it asks whether you want to register online or from another computer. I choose from another computer. It opens up a window with your personal information. Enter whatever, and it saves this to a file on your computer, which you are told to email to sony in order to get an activation code. Don't worry about that, because when you hit the next button it takes you where you enter the activation code, which the keygen provides. After you put in the activation code, the program will run. You can even download the update, Vegas Pro 8b. If you PATCH it first, and follow the same steps, the same keygen will work for the update. Thanks! Will seed this one.

Search for the keygen-patch program by this hash: D5971637F42A35E261379F2FFA0FAE88C31637D1 (in fact you can just google it or search on newtorrents.info for it). first run the keygen and patch Sony Vegas. you must choose the correct product first, it isn't selected by default. Run the keygen-patcher as administrator on vista if you have UAC turned on (this is the default for vista). Then run Vegas, do register on another pc. save the htm file, you can just delete it when you're done. Type in some B.S. like I used Microsoft's name and address and then hit next. Click generate in the keygen and copy the numbers into Vegas. it is as simple as that. Enjoy! Next

To fix this you need to delete the SonyMedia keys from registry then install fresh...thats why some have an issue. Unfortunately you need to be connected to internet at least for the initial registration, after that you can choose to block access or use with no internet connection at all.
