Laggy playback are because (like so many have said already) releated to your PC's performance. Newer HD movies require more CPU power (or a state-of-the-art graphic card) than older movies does. Either upgrade your PC or stay away from HD movies. For playback many recommend CCCP ( cccp-project.net ) since it's both lightweight while still supporting all major formats (OGG, OGM, MKV, H.264, etc.) and uses Media Player Classic for playback for the minimal memory usage and ability to change output (overlay mixer, VMR7, VMR9 etc.). I'm not going to argue that it may be better than yosimedia's recommendation but CCCP is the codec pack which the majority of the anime fansub groups goes after.

@ NeuroVyrus The movie is made in japan, the game originates from japan... Square Enix is a japanese company, watching the animation in american language is like watching arnold schwarzenegger - the terminator in german language. Sigh........ ;-)

Why would you want to watch this movie in japanese ? It was done with ENGLISH VOICES in the first place ! DOn't you want to watch this movie in it's original version ? Sometimes I don't understand peoples....

KKippei - 1st, it's NOT FF ! ^__________^;;;; ( well i still think they should have renamed the movie to another name than final fantasy ^^ the only things that looks likes it is cid ... ) and 2nd - i watch anime in japanese too, i love them , ive watched anime for like 15 years... so you want to watch final fantasy dubbed in japanese ? Fine with you ... i'll watch final fantasy in OV not dubbed

u laggy ppl need proper codecs or a better pc... vlc is not the best way to play hd wmp is the best was with the proper codec 4 vista im using VistaCodecs_v450, and for xp im using XP_Codec_Pack_2.3.6 there the best any how dont forget to uninstall all other system codecs

Having trouble running this .MKV file in Windows Media Player. Using FFDShow rev 1548 and AC3Filter 1.46. Also using Haali Media Splitter 1.7.189.11. What am I missing Thanks!
