If anyone would bother to read the nfo, which nobody does of course, you would see the files are meant to be played in a certain way only (due to some space saving techniques). VLC is not supported.

I'm new to mkvs, how can I overide the font of the subtitles? I hate having different font styles with several colors on the same movie, just white arial is perfect for me

Please warn of possible problems in the torrent description ( since you said that the karaoke and signs are hard-sub, you could have mentioned the codec fine points ); since there is no warning it follows there is little reason to selectively download the info beforehand and check-up, and, in this case, somebody with limited technical knowledge, limited administrative access, technical problems, or insufficient time would spend 15 GiBs ( for a 1:1 ratio ) without any gain for themselves.

I DL'd the 1st gig and it was awesome, great quality - had both English Dub and subtitles so you when you look at it they did a great dubbing job, i think i only found 1 thing that they left out in the entire season but it was miniscule. I was hoping for the same thing here but apparently that isnt the case - DL'ing this one because it has 20x better Video quality than AVI.... Fuck avi :( plus i can handle reading subtitles xD

3__Now open "MKV Merge GUI" and drag the video file (the one with no sound you extracted earlier) and the audio file you just cut. The program will prompt you something like "We didn't detect the fps for this H264 so unless you specify a new one, 25fps will be automatically specified", so you'll have to go to one of the tabs and specify 23.976 fps, that's the magic number that will make the audio and video synchronize (providing you had cut the audio file as i told you ). 4__Click on "Merge" and you are done! In 7 seconds (at least with my q6600) you'll get your GITS 720p English Dub.

If you want to watch this episodes in ENGLISH, do the following: 1__As this matroska (.mkv) files are only containers, the first thing you need to do is remove the video from the package. Use is mkvtoolinix, if you search the web for that you'll find right away results for that freeware program. It has two modes: MKV extract GUI and MKV merge GUI, the latter is what you'll need after. 2__Do the same thingy to extract the english audio from Blitz's Ghost in the shell episodes. You'll get and .ogg file that you will have to convert to wma or mp3. "Free Mp3WmaOGG Converter" will do the job. Once you have the converted audio you'll need to open it with an audio editor to cut the opening. I use soundforge 6.0 (this one is not freeware, sorry). You must cut it with precision (not THAT much) but enough to make the audio start with the sounds of the episode.

Tugger, General Information shows you that the only audio available is the Japanese audio. Sad that there is no English audio included given the fact that the files are in .mkv. Not sure WHY they don't include the English audio. Was the second season ever even dubbed? Video and sound quality are amazing, though. There is a clarity recognizable that isn't there with the other rips, that's for sure.
