Hey,,, I'v got problem. When installing the game, it says that c:\windows\system32\config.nt is missing and that's why i cannot install the game. I looked from my computer, there ain't this kind of file.. And even from c:\windows\repair doesn't find it.. Anyone friendly could please help me? I'm kinda suberpnooooob with computers... the game is dos based does not support Vista and lots problems in XP. under XP you have turn on compatibility mode to 98/ME and no HW accelerating video/sound

Hi V4ever, I do think it can be played in Vista, but you need some patch or something. I am trying to make the game work in XP myself. I am in dilemma, too. Don't worry, there most probably is a solution for both our problems.

dear eagerbeaver, you can find the patches for Xp and Vista, if you carefully read the comments 18, 19, 35, 36 and 37 from dragon1. you have to download the file which dragon1 has uploaded on that site. you can read comments like 20, 25, 43, 44, 47 for more information. all i can say is downloading game torrents and installing them can be tricky.

i am using Xp sp3. i have successfully installed and played nfs 2 in 3D mode. first i followed the steps written in comment 43. then i downloaded the patch by following the comments 35, 36 and 37. then i followed the instructions given by Dragon1 in his file. THATS IT!!!!! eagerbeaver and V4ever i think now you should be able to play the game. enjoy...... p.s.- the reason why i downloaded this old game is because there is a option where two guys can race at the same time on the same computer.

U dont need powerISo or stuff like that to create Iso! Just use Nero to create a CD disc, but use the Image recorder instead of ur DVD/CD writer. Then, when u click on burn, Nero will ask you where u wanna save iso file, select a location and a filename and presto! U have an iso in no time, n that too for free! Now just mount in Alcohol or Daemon Tools! It works on XP! The game works. Its very simple. Background : The uploader gave you a copy of the cd files but they arent in a cd-image format. Solution: Use an app that can create images, such as poweriso, magiciso, even pain in the butt NERO etc. (torrents of these do exist) or go and buy it, you need the full version of poweriso, otherwise the image will be restricted to just 300mb and the game is much bigger. I used poweriso -After installation of POWERISO - Select all the FILES that have been extracted from this torrents .rar and then right click, POWERISO, ADD TO IMAGE FILE - Choose any of the formats, daa, iso etc. - Select where to save the ISO. When the app finishes creating it Your disc image~~ -MOUNT the created file with (powersiso, deamon tools, alcohol etc.) -Install the game from the mounted cd, by either running the AUTORUN, or the SETUP in the setrup folder. -Leave the image mounted and play the game.

i used nero express to create iso files ..... poweriso only creates up to 300mb.... after extracting the rar file...select all the files(not the main folder) and then in nero express select ->data cd ->then Add....not the folder but all the files inside it ->click next ->then choose current recorder as IMAGE recorder instead of dvd-r ->click burn... it will ask u for a location to save the file and change the file type as .iso ->finished... mount it through poweriso or anything... ->if u r using xp change the page file from 256 to 512 ->restart it and In the Virtual drive, Right Click setup or Autorun change the compatability mode to '95 and check(tick) the box 'disable visual themes and check(tick) the box of Input settings ->Install it and the game works fine....the virtual drive should be there while playing

works perfectly in xp. i use xp pro sp3. just make an image of the cd. you can use whatever software you have for making cd images. i use nero. then mount cd image on a virtual drive. i use alcohol's virtual drive. install and then you can play. note: dont dismount the image from the virtual drive. it's as if you're playing with the cd in the drive. hope this helps anyone out there. thanks to the uploader!

I realized that my previous post no. 18 did not have any point and click install option, so I have included an install.bat file that I have created and am re-uploading the file to rapid share dot com. As before, If the server name gets cut out, just substitute ********** dot com. Cheers and thanks again to the up loader! its working fine. first of all extract this rar file. use IMAGEBURN software its free no need to buy,make image of this folder trough it.and after all u can use nero or alcohol to make virtual drive and put this image in this virtual drive.and automatically it will ask to install....it should work fine....but if u find error then leave message we wll help u.
