it looks like alltoavi can't get part 1 and 4, both 3.75-3.76GB as .mkv, under 1000MB. i chose to encode in visual hub wich uses Divx 5.0 to encode... it looks ok... please post here with comments on this codec since i'm still encoding due to settings fine tuning. (finding the right mix for data rate/file size. i'm trying to keep the final file around 1.1GB). the ones i encoded opened fine in VLC and other apps...

i meant: it looks like alltoavi can't get part 1 and 4, both 3.75-3.76GB as .mkv, under 1000MB. part 2 and 3 are 3.05GB, thus ending up below 1000MB when using the 1000kbit data rate in alltoavi. i don't wonat to go lower in bit rate since it looks very compressed then...

all parts that are available up to now, part 1 thru 4, are available now as low resolution HDTV rips. part 1: http://www.mininova.org/tor/919256 part 2: http://www.mininova.org/tor/913739 part 3: http://www.mininova.org/tor/918472 part 4: http://www.mininova.org/tor/919261 as you might have read there were problems with the file size limit alltoavi has and the 1000MB limit for ripped files... part 1 and 4 are too big to be ripped with alltoavi below the 1000MB threshold... those 2 were ripped with visualhub and the divx 5.0 codec instead of the xvid codec. picture quality is very good... it tool some time to get the settings right... now i can rip natively on my mac/osX using visualhub... before i had to use parallels/winXP because i thought there was no converting tool for .mkv on osX avaiable... but there is and the result is very good :-)

The AllToAvi developer will add a switch for the >1GB avi file: By: genesis_kiith it can be easily done by adding a -noodml flag, so yeah, I will make note to include an option that says "Disable OpenDML" and make the related tooltips thanks for pointing that out, I have not had a problem with it soo far so i won't know its causing trouble for some unless they tell me lol It will be added on next release
