Just for anyone who has trouble with this torrent, heres how to do it cause the previous comments were ****. 1) To open the daa. file, you need to download PowerIso. Search it up on google or something, I don't really know the *** rofl. 2) Install PowerIso and make sure you check the "daa. box" during the installation or else you can't mount the daa. file. Reboot your computer to finish the installation. 3)Mount the file "ahu-hl2" and begin to extract the files in an desired folder. 4)Open command prompt and go to the game folder, type "notepad hl2.bat" and press enter. 5)Type "hl2 -stream" (Without quotes)in the notepad and save it in the game folder where "Addon, Bin, Friends etc etc" are. 6)Open the bat. file to play

Hey, just want to drop a line. I opened the daa file with poweriso and the only thing working was HALF-LIFE.2.OFFLINE(etc etc), and clicking that brings you straight to the game. Only problem is, there doesn't seem to be an installation for this game, and my saved games doesn't save. The instructions weren't clear; anybody know how to make a shortcut like the nfo file said?

I don't get what to do next.. Ok, so, when I click the newly created .bat file (thanks to LightSpeed6), it loads up fine. But all of the sudden, when I click "New Game", it exits and has an error. "Could not acquire necessary game files because the connection to the Steam servers were lost". I don't know what I am doing wrong. I followed LightSpeed6's instructions exactly. Anyone have an idea? (BTW, I found that there was a "Steam" folder in the Half Life 2 folder. Do I have to install Steam in that folder or what?)

Sorry I haven't been commenting for a while. Well going to the game folder through command prompt simply means "Changing the Directory" until the current directory is your GAME INSTALLATION folder! (You can do this by the 'cd' command in DOS) ex: cd D:\Games\Half-Life2 ps: DarkSk8r, That was particularly for you! People worked with command line interfaces way b4 Windows and other fancy UIs came you know... If you cant understand a simple thing like that one - then just go for a class.

maik-dpk, the Game Directory is the root level of the game folder. This may change according to the location to which you extract the contents of the CD image. The game directory is the folder with hl2.exe and several other folders including AddOns, bin, Friends, etc. etc. Hope you'll get that problem sorted out. TO ALL Remember, you will encounter problems if you try to run the game directly from the image! It'll freeze when saving\loading and exit or not load at all. So copy the image content to a new folder (That's the game dir) in your Hard Drive. Cheers!

This works and is REAL! This is what you have to do to get this running: 1. Download PowerISO (Download link: http://www.download.com/PowerISO/3000-2646_4-10439118.html?tag=lst-1) 2. Install PowerISO and load image file (ahu-hl2.daa) to PowerISO 3. Copy Image contents to local drive (Create a new game folder) 4. Open the Windows Command prompt (Type cmd in Start > Run) 5. I've downloaded the game and so far it's working very well (and fun as hell). I have encountered a problem at the Chapter Entanglement. There is that young girl that ask me to follow her to an elevator and she says "Come here!" and then nothing. I've tried to Save and reload (it worked before at other elevators) but now each time she just says "Come here" and stop. Can anyone help me to fix this? nevermind about the last comment, thanks to google i fixed my problem great game so far thanks for the upload in order to fix the problem i had i right clicked my shortcut and went to properties, than after -steam -console i added the following: +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1 i havent had a memory cant be read error yet i'de also like to say the command prompt and batch file nonsense above is completely unnecessary. though it works its a complete waste of time seeing as how theres a much simpler way of doing it, just simply making a shortcut of the exe and adding the -steam to the end of the target works fine.

This works great. It's true that the instructions aren't really very detailed, but mr. LightSpeed6 here made it all pretty clear so just follow his instructions and it should all work as it should. One thing though - Whenever I quit the game, I get an "Application Error" saying: "The instruction at "0x20162170" referenced memory at "0x20162170". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program." It's not that it's giving me any trouble since I'm quitting the game when it happens anyway, but still - Anyone got any idea? thanks

Since I've got no idea how you can know how it has been shortened when using the cmd, you better simplify the folder names. (like, f.ex., if your folder's name is "Half Life 2. Crack & Cd Key. Works Great!!" ...just simplify it to "Half Life 2" f.ex.)

@Marcmenke & Darksk8er: When you open the Command Prompt window, you have to navigate to the folder the game is in. To do that, you have to use the commands you normally use in MS DOS... I'm not very tech-savvy (or, at all really), but I do know the basics: When you open the cmd, you can see "C:\blahblah\something>", showing your current selection. Now, how to navigate to the game's directory? Use these commands: cd.. - to go backwards one folder cd foldername - to open a folder ...to run an .exe file or something (or to access a disc, like c: - anything that isn't a folder I guess...), just type in the name without any "cd" prior to it (like, only type "c:", or "hl -steam" - without "cd&quot

Some extra help for Marcmenke: First of all, I hope you have done the PowerISO thing I've explained in post no. 10. And I'm assuming you have copied the contents of the CD image on to the folder you've specified which is: C:\Documents and Settings\Eric\My Documents\Azureus Downloads\Half Life 2. Crack & Cd Key. Works Great!! Tell you what? Just rename that folder (Half Life 2. Crack & Cd Key. Works Great!!) to "Half-Life 2" or something because as NLO has mentioned, you'll have to go through extra trouble if you have a long folder name. Answering Marcmenke's questions 1. About the keyboards, I have no idea but I assume there's a way to tune the frequency of the sensor somewhere? 2. Double clicking the batch file should open the game without a problem. Creating the bath file is explained in post 11. Please note that I've made a typing mistake there. it should be "hl2 -steam" in the bat file. 3. Both "hl2 -steam" and "hl2 -steam -console" commands work in the command prompt. REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE GAME DIRECTORY TO DO SO. Or you have to type in the full path and the command as below. C:\Documents and Settings\Eric\My Documents\Azureus Downloads\Half-Life 2\hl2 -steam 4. Although PowerISO is an unregistered version, it worked perfectly for me and I guess others had no problem as well, so I doubt its a problem with PowerISO. Hope you'll figure out the problem soon. Answering dimitarbs's question (post 47)... Unfortunately Daemon doesn't support this particular image format (.daa) :-( So you've gotta stick to PowerISO I guess. MAGICBRO, I had the same problem (post 48, 49) where Dr. Mossman (the lady from Chapter 5) stands in front of the elevator like a statue and doesnt move! Gotta be a glitch in the game. I just saved it there and reloaded the game and it worked fine after that. This happened to me in another chapter as well... With Alyx as I remember. :-) Worked fine after I reloaded. Glad all the comments helped a lotta people out! :-)

This works great after finally understanding how to run it!! In regards to comment 26 the instructions aren't really much help, or very confusing to say the least. Similar the the instructions of lightspeed, hovever all i did and i think all you need to doo is. 1.create a new folder:e.g c:\games\half life 2 2.Extract the file using power iso into the dir 3. Rename the hl2.exe file "hl2-steam-console" 4.Create a shortcut on the desktop and then run. pretty simple and now it works great as for any glitches or elevator problem, you can download fixes from gamecopyworld.com One thing though - Whenever I quit the game, I get an "Application Error" saying: "The instruction at "0x20162170" referenced memory at "0x20162170". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program." It's not that it's giving me any trouble since I'm quitting the game when it happens anyway, but still - Anyone got any ideas? Would appreciate it peace genxt

Ok i have finished this game on 100percent and its working great sorry for late comment about the game. No problems its working fine so download download and pls. dont forget to seed . Best game for me. beter than god of war 1 and 2.for ps2.Thnx for the great game

To leechah's question about the FPS display: To turn it off, you have to enable the developer console. You can do that by typing "-console" right at the end of the BAT file we created (See posts 11 and 24) and saving it before executing the game. So the code in the BAT file will be as follows: hl2 -steam -console You can open the console by hitting the ~ key. I am running across the same issue as others when loading new areas. I understand the instructions are to "copy the image to your hard drive". What exactly is the image? I'm rather new at this. Is it just the hl2 game starter or do I have to copy the entire folder? thanks in advance
