thanks but i cannot extract the stage2.img too i tried to put in in a virtual disk it says thats the disk is corrupted and with poweriso and ultraiso the image is not a known file so can you upload the files needed already moded or the com'plete image already moded you choose when do it please mail me at malamigo55@gmail.com

sorry guys instruction was for 5.1.1 version. BUT you can use it as "demo version" as far i know no problem so far support up to 8 nodes and 100K device units

So this will install on any kind of hardware or do we have to edit the stage2.img??? I already have a version of version 6 and I have tried to edit stage2.img with success, but when I burn the new iso and boot it does the following... Boots the isolinux just fine gets into anaconda then says "the cisco unified communications cd was not found in any of your cdrom drives" Here are the steps I took to get this. Any help would be appriecated Copy everything from Call Manager CD over to a folder on a linux box. osiris123d you should insert -R or -J in mkisofs command since it needs to support long file name. slon26 or osiris123d plz write down step by step instruction for lines to be edited. are all the lines are in anaconda file?

i have tried to install ucm 6 under vmware works great, but when i choose business edition which includes unity i always get installation failed, i have alloted 40 gig of disk space using vmware server .... anyone got a work around

I would like to install this in VMWare for a demo with 2 or 3 Cisco IP phones. 1.) Which Linux version should be selected? 2.) How much RAM should be allocated? 3.) What size Hard Disk should be allocated? 4.) Are there any options that should be selected during installation? Thanks for the help.

1) it contains red hat already sys.req for CUCM5 Processor speed must be 2.0 GHz or greater (installer seems don't care) Physical memory size must be 2 GB or greater (works even on less) Physical hard disk size must be 72 GB or larger (if less installation failed)

AFAIK... CUCM 6.0 cant be installed on not standard hardware except for vmware... starting 5.1, they made a special provision to bypass hardware checks upon detection of a VMware platform...so vmware works... keep in mind though that when you install... give it 2048 megs of ram and 40 / 80 harddrive space...also.. choose the option to split into 2 gig files. You may decrease RAM after the install completes...I'm running both 5.1 and 6.1 simultaneously (with 256 meg ram each) on a centrino duo/1gig Ram laptop. These are basically RHEL 3 based packages; I'm not a Linux guru so am wondering if someone else could figure out a way to run this on any x86 box.

I try install this software at VMWare 6.0.0, but after hardware detect I have a popup window: could not allocate partititons: Partitioning failed: Could not allocate partitions as primary partitions. Press 'OK' to reboot your system. What can I do for install this product? Please help!

Lizard_Russia: You must have 40gb hd space. It dosent use it all but you must have it. i'm guessing you are using vmware. you have to allocat 40gb for the disk on workstation and 72gb on ESX or server. the resulting size after install will be ~4-5gb no matter what size you tell it it can expand to.
