"Does anyone have a problem with the sound?" Worked fine the first time I tried the game, then the sound just vanished. I tried to un-install it but it couldn't find some file so now everything is fucked up, lol. Any ideas?

Go into the settings, using "tycoon.exe -s" as a runtime parameter, and then choose Directsound as sound source. Doesnt change the fact that it loads shitty slow and for me it also reboots the pc when going into the tutorial Anyone else gettnig errors?

Yeah i lost the sound after I played it once as well, ill try what u said to fix it. I thought the game had crashed but the noticed it was loading but vvvvvery sssssssssslowly! Other than that no other errors

@sebastinw Just run the installer again (from the cd) and then try uninstalling it worked for me. Seems to me like ggs reallly screwed up this release As for the game running slow when you get in game hit escape then options and uncheck the water animation or water effects box makes it run 1000X smoother (i think this is a problem with the game though)

If you don't have sounds. Do the following. 1.Uninstall the game. (If it complains about some file missing, just run the installer again) 2. Install the game, choose Directsound as sound source This worked for me.

Silly. Freight Tycoon is not Rollercoaster Tycoon. And for me, when I load tutorial, my graphics card crashes repeatedly. Game freezes when I try to load normal game.

@Yingjai, Set (in the game - under options) all water based effects/anims off- this worked for me (Geforce 7900GS). It won't make the game load quicker though. Find it odd that such a simple game takes 10 mins of loading (on a 2Ghz Core2Duo machine with 2 gigs ram).

This is what you need to do to fix your sound problem: 1. Run "CMD" (command prompt - start > run > enter cmd) 2. Get to the Freight Tycoon directory 3. type "tycoon.exe -s" and press enter 4. Choose Directsound as sound source and enter the game. 5. Problem solved

The slow loading is likely due to your >1 core cpu. Just go to task manager, choose "processes" tab right click tycoon.exe, choose "Set Affinity" and uncheck so that you only have "CPU 0" running. It fixed my loading problem.

FIX IF YOU MISS THAT .DLL-FILE! http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/pop.php?d3dx9_30 If you use Windows XP: put it in C:\Windows\System32 I tried it, and the game works now. Great site for all kinds of lost dll-files :)
