i am sure this works grate seeing as the Loader Works fine BUT.. when i try installing the Game i get This computer's performance information has not been created. You should create performance information on this computer before running Halo 2 for Windows Vista. Click Start, Control Panel, System and Maintenance, and Performance Information and Tools. And well seeing as i don't Have Vista =( i don't know how i can do that. After this error it Does not Run even when i pick RUN

Works well for me. But once I got to the third map it asks for activation, and Razor1911 cracked mf.dll won't work here. Going back to "renaming maps" to keep playing. Damn.

The Razor crack works perfectly for me in SP; however, the Network feature does not let you create a game. It's not like people could actually "play" a network game to begin with so there's no real loss there. This is as much progress for XP as there is in Vista. Whoever created this XP hack...thank you heaps! I have now deleted that POS, Vista from my comp.

right okay, got the loader to work, BUT when i choose the skill level, the the heretic as that is the first level, halo 2 just sits there with the background screen nothing else, any ideas

Is the loader just purposed to flash up on the screen quickly and then close again? I tried on 3PC's with XP now and cannot get the Startup.exe to run When trying to start the loaded through the Command prompt, i get a message saying "Useage: Loader.exe <executable path> [<arguments.]" Then when running F:startup.exe for Halo2 I get an Entry point error saying "the procedure entry point CreateProcessWithTokenW could not be located in the dynamic link libary ADVAPI32.dll"

Please can someone help me: I installed the game and applied this loader. It works so far, but after the first three levels the game tolds me it needs to be activated. So I tried the razor crack that activates the game, but this crack and this loader are incompatible to another. Both the loader and the razor crack use the same same file "mf.dll". When I use the one from this loader the game works, but as I told you only for the first three levels. And when I use the mf.dll from the zaror crack the game crashes, because this crack is originally made for Windows Vista. Yes I'm using WinXP. Is there any way I could get around this activation??? Please help! Thanks in advance.

LR4004Archer, yes that is correct; however, you can only play until the map "Gravemind" before it asks for the Halo 2 disc to be inserted. That's 11 maps you can play without the disc which is better than the original release for Vista where you could only play the 1st 3. There isn't a work around yet to my knowledge.

Now take the mf.dll from the halo 2 loader and copy it into "C:Windowssystem32" Now the game is activated like unter Vista, cracked like under Vista and patched for working with WinXP. I have the same problem as raakesh #22.. I'm logged in as an admin, with XPSP2. I've tried starting the loader.exe in cmd prompt and all I get is the following msg: "The system cannot execute the specified program." In start -> run ->loader.exe I get "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. reinstalling the application may fix this problem." - I've tried redownloading the file same thing happens. Any Help???

A fix has been discovered for those of you having the game ask for the original Halo 2 disc on the "Gravemind" level or the "07a_highcharity.map" file in the maps folder. You need the program "unGZIP" to extract this very map from the original Halo 2 DVD/ISO image you first installed Halo 2 from. Once you unzip this file, you should see a ".dtz" file extension on the extracted file. You can then delete this file extension to make sure it matches the correct file name, "07a_highcarity.map". Finish this process off by replacing the old file which is in your Halo 2 directory (maps folder) with the new one and you're done. It should work fine now. There must have been a glitch in the Loader on installing this map because all I did was replace it with a new one and it worked perfectly. The rest of the game played out beautifully.

I could clearly need some help. I come to the part where it it asks for "Full Install & Play" etc. I choose directory, Full install and do NOT play. I have problem with instalation i run everything but when i try instal there is allways not enought disk space at my pc. I create 8GB at disk C: and 20gb at disk where i want instal game and still it isnt enought, what i should do?? Thanks

"Gravemind" level it ask for CD. Why do we need ungzip? I see that all maps size in iso file are diff from the ones in installed dir.

Well... you can always format and install a clean OS and then install the game too see if that works I really did have 2 warnings. I was still able to install. My OS is kind clean. Maybe all those problems ppl are having are something in OS making conflict.

Im having problems getting the loader.exe to run. Ive read through all of the above comments, and none of them seem to have helped. When trying to run Loader.exe through windows explorer, it says: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." When trying to run through cmd it says: "the system cannot execute the specified program." I have tried adding "J:Startup.exe" after, but it still doesnt work. By the way, the H2 CD is in my J drive. I've even tried adding "D:Startup.exe" after it. Any help would be Greatly appriciated.

There's a lot better way to execute Startup.exe, and it has been mentioned above. I'll repost it here just so you can easily read it. 1. Open the drive folder ( in your case J: ) and find Startup.exe 2. Open the folder you have loader.exe in ( example: C:loader ) 3. Drag Startup.exe and drop it on top of loader.exe 4. Watch Startup.exe being executed. This way you can not fail.

When i load the Startup.exe off of the included Loader.exe it won't let me do a custom install because it says it has already been initiated but when i press play halo 2 it installs most of the way and then gives me the error message saying, "The procedure entry point RegGetValueA could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll Please help

I'm having an install issue that I haven't seen posted anywhere yet. Using Razor1911's release I can get the loader to bring up the install screen but it's blank. Blank as in the blue background is there but nothing else in the window. The top bar says Halo 2 for Vista. There's also a white blank window that shows with the internet explorer log on the top bar. Any ideas on this one?

The loader would not work for me until I did that. Luckily I found a forum and someone else had that prob. That file is in redists folder on the game disk. Hopefully this helps someone. :-

Works well for me. But once I got to the third map it asks for activation, and Razor1911 cracked mf.dll won't work here. Going back to "renaming maps" to keep playing. Damn.

The Razor crack works perfectly for me in SP; however, the Network feature does not let you create a game. It's not like people could actually "play" a network game to begin with so there's no real loss there. This is as much progress for XP as there is in Vista. Whoever created this XP hack...thank you heaps! I have now deleted that POS, Vista from my comp.

I have the same problem as in #37. I did copy the .dtz file off of the disk and decompress it. It was actually the same size as in the install library. I copied it over any way, and started the game back up. Selected the gravemind level, and still got the message to insert original Halo 2 disc. I installed Halo with a valid copy, with a good key, so I can get online and everything. I got the updates installed, no problems. The game plays well, a couple of minor glitches in a couple of the maps, but over all ok. I am not going to install Vista for one lousey level. I actually have two copies of the Vista Primuim. Any other ideas on how to resolve this would be great. Thanks

A fix has been discovered for those of you having the game ask for the original Halo 2 disc on the "Gravemind" level or the "07a_highcharity.map" file in the maps folder. You need the program "unGZIP" to extract this very map from the original Halo 2 DVD/ISO image you first installed Halo 2 from. OK I have it installed and everything with a fix from post #62's link. Multiplayer does not work AT ALL it doesn't read live profiles no matter what and also its impossible to make a network game, but its still fun anyway...Too bad I can't play with my bro though

Well... you can always format and install a clean OS and then install the game too see if that works I really did have 2 warnings. I was still able to install. My OS is kind clean. Maybe all those problems ppl are having are something in OS making conflict.

There's a lot better way to execute Startup.exe, and it has been mentioned above. I'll repost it here just so you can easily read it. 1. Open the drive folder ( in your case J: ) and find Startup.exe 2. Open the folder you have loader.exe in ( example: C:loader ) 3. Drag Startup.exe and drop it on top of loader.exe 4. Watch Startup.exe being executed. This way you can not fail.

and yes its a bad thing when it downloads in 5 secs, it should take like maybe 12 hours and 5 secs get a downloader befoer you start downloading torrents you no0b..and if you cant get the game working..well sorry about your luck..learn the machine your working with first, second learn the software your using..then third MAYBE, just MAYBE, you can make it in life..until then..cry me a river and build me a bridge...thanks uploader!

Is the loader just purposed to flash up on the screen quickly and then close again? I'm having an install issue that I haven't seen posted anywhere yet. Using Razor1911's release I can get the loader to bring up the install screen but it's blank. Blank as in the blue background is there but nothing else in the window. The top bar says Halo 2 for Vista. There's also a white blank window that shows with the internet explorer log on the top bar. Any ideas on this one?

Please can someone help me: I installed the game and applied this loader. It works so far, but after the first three levels the game tolds me it needs to be activated. So I tried the razor crack that activates the game, but this crack and this loader are incompatible to another. Both the loader and the razor crack use the same same file "mf.dll". When I use the one from this loader the game works, but as I told you only for the first three levels. And when I use the mf.dll from the zaror crack the game crashes, because this crack is originally made for Windows Vista. Yes I'm using WinXP. Is there any way I could get around this activation??? LR4004Archer, yes that is correct; however, you can only play until the map "Gravemind" before it asks for the Halo 2 disc to be inserted. That's 11 maps you can play without the disc which is better than the original release for Vista where you could only play the 1st 3. There isn't a work around yet to my knowledge.

The game plays well, a couple of minor glitches in a couple of the maps, but over all ok. I am not going to install Vista for one lousey level. I actually have two copies of the Vista Primuim. A fix has been discovered for those of you having the game ask for the original Halo 2 disc on the "Gravemind" level or the "07a_highcharity.map" file in the maps folder. You need the program "unGZIP" to extract this very map from the original Halo 2 DVD/ISO image you first installed Halo 2 from. Once you unzip this file, you should see a ".dtz" file extension on the extracted file. You can then delete this file extension to make sure it matches the correct file name, "07a_highcarity.map". Finish this process off by replacing the old file which is in your Halo 2 directory (maps folder) with the new one and you're done. It should work fine now. There must have been a glitch in the Loader on installing this map because all I did was replace it with a new one and it worked perfectly. The rest of the game played out beautifully.

and yes its a bad thing when it downloads in 5 secs, it should take like maybe 12 hours and 5 secs get a downloader befoer you start downloading torrents you no0b..and if you cant get the game working..well sorry about your luck..learn the machine your working with first, second learn the software your using..then third MAYBE, just MAYBE, you can make it in life..until then..cry me a river and build me a bridge...thanks uploader!

Well... you can always format and install a clean OS and then install the game too see if that works I really did have 2 warnings. I was still able to install. My OS is kind clean. Maybe all those problems ppl are having are something in OS making conflict.

Im having problems getting the loader.exe to run. Ive read through all of the above comments, and none of them seem to have helped. When trying to run Loader.exe through windows explorer, it says: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." When trying to run through cmd it says: "the system cannot execute the specified program." I have tried adding "J:Startup.exe" after, but it still doesnt work. By the way, the H2 CD is in my J drive. I've even tried adding "D:Startup.exe" after it. Any help would be Greatly appriciated.

There's a lot better way to execute Startup.exe, and it has been mentioned above. I'll repost it here just so you can easily read it. 1. Open the drive folder ( in your case J: ) and find Startup.exe 2. Open the folder you have loader.exe in ( example: C:loader ) 3. Drag Startup.exe and drop it on top of loader.exe 4. Watch Startup.exe being executed. This way you can not fail.

The Razor crack works perfectly for me in SP; however, the Network feature does not let you create a game. It's not like people could actually "play" a network game to begin with so there's no real loss there. This is as much progress for XP as there is in Vista. Whoever created this XP hack...thank you heaps! I have now deleted that POS, Vista from my comp.

I'm having an install issue that I haven't seen posted anywhere yet. Using Razor1911's release I can get the loader to bring up the install screen but it's blank. Blank as in the blue background is there but nothing else in the window. The top bar says Halo 2 for Vista. There's also a white blank window that shows with the internet explorer log on the top bar. Any ideas on this one?

I have the same problem as in #37. I did copy the .dtz file off of the disk and decompress it. It was actually the same size as in the install library. I copied it over any way, and started the game back up. Selected the gravemind level, and still got the message to insert original Halo 2 disc. I installed Halo with a valid copy, with a good key, so I can get online and everything. I got the updates installed, no problems. The game plays well, a couple of minor glitches in a couple of the maps, but over all ok. I am not going to install Vista for one lousey level. I actually have two copies of the Vista Primuim. Is the loader just purposed to flash up on the screen quickly and then close again? I tried on 3PC's with XP now and cannot get the Startup.exe to run When trying to start the loaded through the Command prompt, i get a message saying "Useage: Loader.exe <executable path> [<arguments.]" Then when running F:startup.exe for Halo2 I get an Entry point error saying "the procedure entry point CreateProcessWithTokenW could not be located in the dynamic link libary ADVAPI32.dll"

Please can someone help me: I installed the game and applied this loader. It works so far, but after the first three levels the game tolds me it needs to be activated. So I tried the razor crack that activates the game, but this crack and this loader are incompatible to another. Both the loader and the razor crack use the same same file "mf.dll". When I use the one from this loader the game works, but as I told you only for the first three levels. And when I use the mf.dll from the zaror crack the game crashes, because this crack is originally made for Windows Vista. Yes I'm using WinXP. Is there any way I could get around this activation??? LR4004Archer, yes that is correct; however, you can only play until the map "Gravemind" before it asks for the Halo 2 disc to be inserted. That's 11 maps you can play without the disc which is better than the original release for Vista where you could only play the 1st 3. There isn't a work around yet to my knowledge.

PROBLEM SOLVED! And here is how: Take the MF.dll from the razor crack and copy it into the halo 2 directory. Now take the mf.dll from the halo 2 loader and copy it into "C:Windowssystem32" Now the game is activated like unter Vista, cracked like under Vista and patched for working with WinXP. I have the same problem as raakesh #22.. I'm logged in as an admin, with XPSP2. I've tried starting the loader.exe in cmd prompt and all I get is the following msg: "The system cannot execute the specified program." In start -> run ->loader.exe I get "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. reinstalling the application may fix this problem." - I've tried redownloading the file same thing happens. Any Help???

A fix has been discovered for those of you having the game ask for the original Halo 2 disc on the "Gravemind" level or the "07a_highcharity.map" file in the maps folder. You need the program "unGZIP" to extract this very map from the original Halo 2 DVD/ISO image you first installed Halo 2 from. Once you unzip this file, you should see a ".dtz" file extension on the extracted file. You can then delete this file extension to make sure it matches the correct file name, "07a_highcarity.map". Finish this process off by replacing the old file which is in your Halo 2 directory (maps folder) with the new one and you're done. It should work fine now. There must have been a glitch in the Loader on installing this map because all I did was replace it with a new one and it worked perfectly. The rest of the game played out beautifully.

"Gravemind" level it ask for CD. Why do we need ungzip? I see that all maps size in iso file are diff from the ones in installed dir.

Well... you can always format and install a clean OS and then install the game too see if that works I really did have 2 warnings. I was still able to install. My OS is kind clean. Maybe all those problems ppl are having are something in OS making conflict.

Im having problems getting the loader.exe to run. Ive read through all of the above comments, and none of them seem to have helped. When trying to run Loader.exe through windows explorer, it says: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. There's a lot better way to execute Startup.exe, and it has been mentioned above. I'll repost it here just so you can easily read it. 1. Open the drive folder ( in your case J: ) and find Startup.exe 2. Open the folder you have loader.exe in ( example: C:loader ) 3. Drag Startup.exe and drop it on top of loader.exe 4. Watch Startup.exe being executed. This way you can not fail.

When i load the Startup.exe off of the included Loader.exe it won't let me do a custom install because it says it has already been initiated but when i press play halo 2 it installs most of the way and then gives me the error message saying, "The procedure entry point RegGetValueA could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll Please help

I'm having an install issue that I haven't seen posted anywhere yet. Using Razor1911's release I can get the loader to bring up the install screen but it's blank. Blank as in the blue background is there but nothing else in the window. The top bar says Halo 2 for Vista. There's also a white blank window that shows with the internet explorer log on the top bar. Any ideas on this one?

If anyone is having a prob with loader read this. Why didn't anyone or anything in the instructions say anything about having to install vcredist.msi??? The loader would not work for me until I did that. Luckily I found a forum and someone else had that prob. That file is in redists folder on the game disk. Hopefully this helps someone. :-

I have the same problem as in #37. I did copy the .dtz file off of the disk and decompress it. It was actually the same size as in the install library. I copied it over any way, and started the game back up. Selected the gravemind level, and still got the message to insert original Halo 2 disc. I installed Halo with a valid copy, with a good key, so I can get online and everything. I got the updates installed, no problems. The game plays well, a couple of minor glitches in a couple of the maps, but over all ok. I am not going to install Vista for one lousey level. I actually have two copies of the Vista Primuim. Any other ideas on how to resolve this would be great. Thanks
