OK! So first I get the this error message: Buffer overrun detected! Program:...Up- Contents Under Pressure\Bin\GettingUp.exe A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated. I read and did EVERYTHING that 'Moutrian' said to do and I'm still getting this error. So then I just decided to 'Run As...' and then THIS error message came up: (Slayer) Exception address 4b7fe9 [no game crash info] IMAGE HELP STACK: TArchive::operator=+B0AD9 MAP FILE STALKWALK: Sooo....I've seen a number of resolutions on this 'slayer' error however only one on the buffer error. As someone said before, there's got to be some error/techie savvy person hovering about somewhere??? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

when i run the game, it works fine. But once i get to the first mission there are black lines running through the screen and all i hear is the sound. The lines don't take up the whole screen, only most of it but there are too many lines for me to be able to play the game! what do i do?

I had "violation" error but changing the compatability of the "GettingUp" in bin file to Windows 98/Window Me fixed it. Works perfect now. Thanks dopeman

Found the solutions to errors. First I got buffer overrun error, and like advised, I put the game in C:/Program Files/Atari/Marc Eckos Getting Up. But, nothing happened- I still got the error. Than I pressed right click on the shortcut to the game and Run as.. and clicked ok. And than a a game opened, but I got another error. The slayer one (file stalkwalker, you know which one ). And than I have downloaded Ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) and cleaned my registry and everything else. And than, everything went fine and works now. I have previously ran the game- so I knew the error wasn't brcause of my hardware. I hope this will help someone.

<3 Dopeman =D Hate to bother ya with problems, but I'm getting a buffer overrun :o Idk what it is, but it seems to upset the games internal state and causes it to crash =( I'll try and find a solution to this, but if anyone else has a similar problem and fixes it, then I would kindly appreciate it you posted =) Btw, I had an error while extracting a mesh: \engine\Meshes\Props\M09_Cat_n_Mouse\m09_general_assets\m09_elevated_track_covers\M09_Elevated_Track_Covers.msh I would guess that this shouldn't cause any problem, but I might have to go download that file. I haven't installed it into a directory with dopemans nic, so no worries about that. I would love to know how dopeman makes these rips, cos then I might even throw up a few of my own games =P Anyway, any response would help, and thanks again Dopeman ^^

i've done some research and every thread on every forum this problem came uo is unsolved (DA VINCI CODE, and Getting Up) some people blame it on the system hardware requirements and advise to upgrade the pc, but in many cases, it is not the cause ... if any1 finds a solution to this mysterious problem please POST IT HERE cheerz

Right, People after a bit of research i got this game working, anyone that didnt mention and got game working was a bit harsh on the gamers: When downloaded, Create folder in my documents or wherever else and call that folder Gaming, so the path should then be when you unrar to this location C:\Documents and Settings\***USERNAME***\My Documents\Gaming\Getting Up - Contents Under Pressure run the EXE file in the _bin folder, this is what i did, hope this works out 4 u N1 DOPEMAN THIS GAME IS LEGEND!!

ok, ok, right, after this i encountered another problem (sighs) i use the step in my post above which worked, now, i get to main menu, and try to play the first level by starting a new game or even loading, but i choose the level and then another error comes up and the game closes, i believe this is something to do with the way the file was coded, the first levels file size is low compared to the rest, anyone got a fix for this problem or can tell me how they got the game workign using there method, pelase post. but the game is still legend!

If you have any problem unraring its because some file its corrupted. You could download the corrupted file again and u can keep the other files downloaded but if its like dopeman files(just 1 file)then your ****ed,you would need to download it again. Had that problem with Area 51 downloaded 3 times because the first 2 times the file was corrupted. For those having problems with fast gameplay, hearing sound and cant see any thing or having the slayer problem, maybe its your graphic card, try upgrading it or upgrading your ram. Hope this was helpful

I suggest peeps check here first & see if you PC meets the System Requirements for this game. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com A good tip for all Dopeman & other RIP games. Create a folder on your C Drive or D Drive or whatever your HD is at & call the folder 'Games' When de-compressing the downloaded RAR files. Do it to this folder & you can't go wrong (make sure you read install guide within Genral Information of Torrent)

ok, i think im on to something here, but im not american so i can't find out if it works... go to http://www.terragame.com/downloadable/adv/marc_eckos_getting_up_contents_under_pressure/index.html and download the Getting Up demo, maybe that will have the missing file thing... if it runs... just look for anything called STALKWALK, slayer or anything that might be a soloution, then copy it over to the corresponding real Getting up file, and see if that fixes it... i cant download the demo, i dont live in america...

problem solved for the running too fast thing just set the affinity to single core in the task manager right click on the .exe file affinity and turn off cpu 1 job done

finally got everything sorted out on one of the two pcs that I am trying to run this on...on my desktop that is running xp i just opened the rar right on the desktop and the game opened...but that pc apparently lacks the sufficient video driver to play the game...so i have sound and can hear gameplay but no picture. then I moved the file to my laptop that is newer and has a better video driver and card...unfourtunately it runs vista....so I can't find a place to put the file that I don't get the slayer error. I am thinking that the slayer error is a problem of putting the file in an appropriate location. Has any one found a working location on vista?
