Common Problems Connecting With The Tracker

GetAddInfo Failed

It means that you can't connect to the tracker's IP address, and this could be because a bunch of different reasons. Your client can't get through your firewall, your ISP's DSN server is down, or can't resolve the trackers domain to an IP address, or the tracker is down and isn't responding.

Address Family Not Supported

This error is only generated because of network settings in Windows. Check and ensure that you have a client for Windows, have installed the Windows version of TCP/IP, you're logged in and have an IP address.

Connection Reset by Peer

This happens when a connection is shut down for some reason by the remote computer, and you can simply ignore it.

No Buffer Space Available

This happens when there are a lot of routes in your routing table due to a router, lots of bad connections in your connection table, lots of date that is pending and can't be received, opening too many sockets at the same time, or just not enough space on your hard drive.

Operation Has Timed Out

This error means that the tracker is down, or too busy, but keep trying! It should fix itself.

It could also be your client, so you should switch to a client like Azureus. Also, you need to make sure you correctly configured your client.

Connection Refused

This means that, for whatever reason, you can't establish a good connection to the tracker that you need to in order to download the file. This is usually caused by firewalls, routers, or trackers being too busy.

You may also be banned for leeching. Most of the time, if you leave your client running the problem will sort itself out. If in a few days it still hasn't downloaded, the tracker is gone and you should find another file.

No Route to Host

This could be a system admin who's noticed unusual traffic, and banned an IP, or a remote host being down. Try connecting for a day or so, but if it still doesn't work, simply find another torrent.

Connection Refused

With this, just let your torrent run in your client. It'll work itself out, and resume downloading.

HTTP Error -1

Leave the torrent running, and it will fix itself.

HTTP Error 404: Page Cannot be Displayd

It could be that the server is busy, or it's an old torrent. Try again in a few minutes, or find a new link.

HTTP Error 503:P Service Unavailable

The tracker may be down or something bad happened. You can find out on TorrentSpy.

Unrecognizable Host

This may be a private tracker, so go to the trackers website and see if you can sign up. Also, make sure your configurations are correct.
