A more traditional blockbuster fights with movie no less ambitious, but more original (Inception). And if the project has caused considerable interest Nolan before the release of its eccentricity, the movie of Terteltaub - this is almost a kind of tribute to the pack blockbusters of recent years. However, he does not look as depressing as it might seem. Critics initially reacted to the film is very irritating, but after the rigors, and ratings of the "Sorcerer's apprentice" went up and grown up to quite an acceptable level.
Jerry Bruckheimer, and a star of Terteltaub project Nicolas Cage did not work quite so carelessly. And their third joint after Novels "National Treasure" project has been quite a viable picture (to the same based on a very reputable source - the episode of the Disney "Fantasia" and encouraged him Goethe's poem) salvable largely thanks to its humor and great visual effects. "Sorcerer's apprentice" is not quite so giving childish and quite comfortable for an older audience, which, prospectively, the film also focuses.
Heroes are a joke regardless of the consequences (including concentrated Cage character, not to mention the horrific Alfred Molina). In the end, Bruckheimer and Cage comes up with another summer family blockbuster.
"Sorcerer's apprentice"- a product of a bad script, lifeless play-acting and predictable action-scenes. Besides Jay Barushel already played such a character twice this year"- Kevin McCarthy, BDK Reviews.
"Cage did not disappoint in the role of Balthazar. He is quite mad, so that the character does not become too predictable. It's a pity when such a pro, as his hero, gives so much screen time to his young protege"- Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post.
"It is quite bad, so it can be described as "quite good"- Eric Dee Snider, EricDSnider.com.
"The coolest trick of the sorcerer will be the disappearance of the audience"- Steve Biodrovski, Cinefantastique.
"Dynamic, funny, entertaining" - David M. Kimmel, New England Movies Weekly.
"On a hot summer's day family walk to the cinema could become just the usual holding time or its natural waste. That's "Sorcerer's apprentice" belongs to this category,"- Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine.
