I will say right about the pros and cons of the series and the beginning of the cons, because I will not say that there will be a lot of them here. The first is decoration - Penny, Leonard, Howard apartments, the institute, and cafe. All decorations are rather primitive and monotonous. And the second, although I do not think this is a big minus, but still laugh behind the scenes - I do not really like it. We have watched the same in "Friends" and many others serials. But these cons are so slight in comparison with pros, about which I'm going to speak.
Probably the most-most big plus of this series - are the dialogues. The endless discussions of Leonard and Sheldon or Sheldon and Penny, or just a show talk. Most of these dialogues can be easily cited and tell your friends, dialogues about science, superheroes, and just about any subject and its origin and properties. I've been impressed!
Characters. I do not know what about you, but my favorite characters are Sheldon and Howard. Jim Parsons as Sheldon looks great! Continuous talk about science, reconciling with superheroes and Chinese food made them superstar of the serial. Simon Helberg as Howard is also wonderful. Some Jewish ladies man (so he thinks), who believes that he is less like his nerd friends. The other characters are also good, but most of all I liked Sheldon and Howard.
And few words about humor of BBT. I liked that the creators put together such a large number of subclasses, and so different people for a Comedy Series. If before the word "nerd" was a person who only constantly study something, but now in this series, our nerds not only work in the research center, but also arrange Wednesdays nights of computer shooters, play paintball, trying to do something with their sexual life and with all this cocktail collecting superhero action figures and buy time machine.

You know, this serial is peculiar, not for everyone. It proves once again that Americans, whether it is actors or singers or physics and mathematics graduates are able to have fun! And even four botanists and lovely waitress can rock so that every week forced to cling to TV monitors many millions audience!
Genre sitcom is a standard, ala Friends. But in general, after all the Friends series all further serials are similar. Whether it's The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men, Will & Grace, How I Met Your Mother, etc., all seems almost as one, but all are equally good.
However, The Big Bang Theory is special serial, if it does not make you laugh, then expand the horizons, or at least heard of the force to get into Wikipedia, which is also not a little important.
