“X-Men: First Class” review
Create a new branch of a very successful franchise "X-Men" is incredibly difficult. Not only because of huge budget and special effects satiety last part of the trilogy, leaving little room for maneuver. Not only because it starred the real titans, and even the supporting roles played by well known actors.
But because think of another distinct theme, based on a rather chaotic universe of comic book series "X-Men" - not an easy task. Director Matthew Vaughn was not afraid of these problems and directed the film, which is not inferior, and in some ways superior to its predecessors.
What is not inferior? First of all, this is the level of special effects, which, speaking of the franchise "X-Men" is very strange to call special. Films in this series are literally woven from them, and find a hole in this dense fabric is absolutely impossible.
Now about the story. It's not a secret that this movie is about familiarity of Eric Lensher and Charles Xavier - the future Magneto and Professor X - their friendship, which later developed into ... No, not in enmity, rather, in an irreconcilable bowing to each other.
By the way, there will be appropriate to retreat for lovers of history. Long before the picture was aware that its main action takes place against the backdrop of the Cuban Missile Crisis, brought the world to the brink of global nuclear war.
Young actors representing the "first grade", though not enough stars in the sky, but looks at the background of such titans as Kevin Bacon and Oliver Platt, rather gangbusters. The only weak link is the star of TV series "Mad Men" January Jones, who played Emma Frost. In her character are completely absent the soul and charisma. Although, perhaps, on the idea of the film, all of her role and should be limited to a few fashion shows and demonstrations of female accessories.
The film "X-Men: First Class" is a worthy continuation of the franchise and it could give a start of a new trilogy.
P.S. About the middle of the movie has a scene lasting a few seconds, which alone fully justifies the trip to the cinema. If at this moment in the hall you will not hear applause, it means that you have watched "X-Men: First Class" in the company of people who do not have the slightest idea about the Marvel universe.
Ryan Reynolds interview
Ryan Reynolds in an interview with the resource Collider talked about the project "Green Lantern", what he knew about the original comic book up to this point and how to prepare for the role of Hal Jordan.
- Have you already given many interviews about this project?
No, not really. We presented the project at the exhibition Comic-Con, but it's quite private event.
- You have already starred in comic books, but agree that at this time, your hero is very much attractive and energetic.
I guess you're right. Perhaps this is the first movie which was filmed for my nephews and niece watched from the earliest days. The first thing my nephew asked me when I came to visit him: "Do you give me a ring? and I answered him: "Forget it!" (laughs). Do not want to sound sentimental, but this interest inspires great confidence in what you're doing.
- When you were considering the offer of the studio, how much you talked about your role and what you know about comics?
I had an idea about it, but, in general terms. Like, there has lived an ordinary guy, whom died alien has bequeathed a ring that shoots a laser. That’s all. I was shocked to discover what an enormous universe is involved in "Green Lantern ". On the role, Hal Jordan held a casting, as usual. I am slightly familiar with the world of comics: played in "Blade 3: Trinity" and the entire four minutes was Deadpool, in " X-Men: Wolverine". Overall, I was not sure, whether I would fit the role of a superhero or not. I just wanted to work with Martin Campbell, because I really like "Casino Royale" and some of his other films. We have met three times. At first tried to persuade me in the end I've beg my role. Then I was taken to the costume designers, and I saw all of their models, concept art, costumes, and was stunned. So it all started.
- Can you tell a bit about your character, Hal Jordan? He is an example of the classical hero. He is fearless and very confident. How to ensure that he looks like a hero, fearless, and at the same time does not ...
We had no goal of making him a fearless hero. ... Hal Jordan is the reason the ring has chosen him, that he is able to conquer fear. He was confused and did not understand why the choice fell on him. And he's afraid to admit that he is afraid of.... His struggle to overcome this fear continues throughout the film. He is looking for a fulcrum and tries to find the ability to defeat his fear. Precisely because of this he becomes the greatest of the green lights, because courage - this is madness. Courage - an amazing thing: it is noble, that they want to have all the advantage. In general, this virtue he tries to find within himself. In short, he's one of those guys who try to be fearless, but when we know him better, understand that he chose precisely the wrong way.
- What are your favorite books and movies in the genre of science fiction?
Uh ... number one – "Back to the Future." Next "Star Wars", the first three parts. What else? I like "Total Recall." Well, I do not know ... as a child I loved "Robocop." It seemed my super-duper movie. That is all at once come to my mind.
- Deadpool, Green Lantern, and now they say that you are going to participate in the project RIPD Why are comics more attractive for you than traditional movies?
I think they are attractive from the standpoint that now, with the development of new technologies and take them down has become much easier and they look spectacular as ever. "Green Lantern", for example, can’t be removed two years ago. As for the draft RIPD, I first read the script, and only then learned that it is comic. Not even a comic, graphic novel. In general, the script I really liked. I do not think that I deliberately chose a genre in which I decide to act.
Interview with Rupert Grint
In an interview with PARADE Rupert Grint, aka Ron Weasley - Harry Potter's best friend in all the eight franchise films, says that still is not ready to leave this chapter of his life.
- What were the last days on the set of the second part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"?
Harry Potter is a huge part of my life. I can’t even remember what was before it. Yes, the last few days were full of emotion. It was sad, felt a void. I remember when I packed my things in bags and boxes, I stumbled upon the toys, which are played when I was 10 years old. It was strange.
- What do you think about the future?
Everything is fine. It was great, but I'm looking forward and ready for changes.
- Did you like the idea to divide the last book into two parts?
I think it was a good idea, because what we have gotten two different films. The second part is more like an epic action game.
- Hogwarts is attacked. How did you feel watching the collapsing scenery?
It was very strange to observe how a place so familiar and habitual, your second home, have been razed. Everything happened at once - the film ends, faded film set. I was amazed when I saw that the Great Hall turned into a pile of burning rubble. For the fans it will be a real shock.
- Do you like to participate in the action and perform tricks?
Yes, it was great to shoot all of it. We're very much running, but because I do it infrequently, the feeling was quite unusual. There will be a great scene in which I was running from the courtyard from pursuing giants and spiders. I liked every tricks and I served them with pleasure. And never is injured, by the way.
- If JK Rowling will write another book, whether you will agree to participate in future projects?
I'm not sure. I've always been a big fan of books about Potter and for many years to stick with Ron. Now, we are as if the same person. But I still can’t give an answer now. Of course, I would like to play Ron's of middle age. Let's wait, and then understand what to do.
Star Trek sequel is waiting for JJ Abrams
According to insiders of website Deadline, as soon as JJ Abrams will be announced director sequel "Star Trek". True, the director for all his desire is not be able to release a picture of the planned release date June 29, 2012, so that Paramount is considering moving the premiere in December 2012.
Maintain the participation of Abrams to date are in the category "rumors", but a desire to move the release date is quite natural. Hollywood in recent years provides less and less time on the production of costly projects that affect the quality of graphics - see the recent problems with the "Green Lantern". "Star Trek 2" today exists as a 70-page treatment, that is, in fact, the movie has not a normal scenario. Roberto Orci, Damon Lindelof and Alex Kurtzman are waiting for JJ Abrams.
"We are waiting for Jay Jay will have time to read our story - says Orsi. - We need to listen to all of his recommendations to the story before we continue. As soon as he gives go-ahead, we will instantly finish the script. So far we have painted a detailed story on 70 pages. Each of us was busy on another project".
Kurtzman leaned in the direction and removes the drama "Welcome to the people." Orci worked on "Cowboys vs. Aliens" and is now preparing "Ender's Game" for Gavin Hood. Lindelof changed the concept of "Prometheus" by Ridley Scott.
It’s not seemed that trinity spent time working on a sequel "Star Trek". Meanwhile, before the expected release date is 13 months. From an interview with Orci that preparations for the shooting can begin on the existing Treatment. However, given that "Star Trek" - a complex in the production of fiction, such a scenario is unlikely. In addition, the need to work in a hurry over the special effects, will significantly increase the budget.
Therefore, there is a strong possibility that the release will move from the summer of 2012 in December. But as long as Abrams does not wish to shoot "Star Trek 2", Paramount will wait.
Mid-summer of 2012 is generally very popular time. Just recently, the battle unfolded studios Universal and Relativity for withdrawal of their "Snow Whites". Both projects were close after its Universal moved the film with Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart on 1 June. Relativity, whose "Snow White" of Tarsema Sinha with Army Hummer and Lily Collins was supposed to be shown on June 29, after a little reflection changed premiere on March 16.
Robert Zemeckis new amazing project
Director of the trilogy "Back to the Future" will again engage in problems associated with space-time continuum, but this time his character will move in time without brand-car DeLorian. Robert Zemeckis is in talks with studio Warner about setting the film on the novel by Ken Grimwood "Replay", which wanted to film Ben Affleck last autumn.
The director of "The Town" has long been flirting with several projects and has chosen a political thriller "Argo." Thus, the "Replay" was again found itself in limbo, where he was for 22 years - Hollywood tried to make a film on the novel by Grimwood ever since its publication in the late 80's. By the way, the book brought the author a World Fantasy Award in 1988.
The protagonist, 43-year-old radio journalist, dies, but comes to life and appears in his own 18-year old body. He will have to relive the past 25 years of his life again and again. The memory of the hero is left intact so that he can afford to take advantage of missed opportunities before. Eventually he realizes that he cannot change his death in 1988, but he can change events leading to it.
It is interesting that one of the key moments of the novel is associated with Steven Spielberg. The hero meets a kindred spirit, and the girl is not only a fictional Spielberg's movie screenwriter, but also in the same way can move in time.
Recently it became known that Robert Zemeckis will remove the drama "Flight" with Denzel Washington, but not yet known when the director or the actor will have time for this project. So, apparently, first Zemeckis will shoot "Replay" if he can reach an agreement with Warner.
One pleases: the director returned to the bosom of feature films after his experiments with motion capture.
Elijah Wood interview about “Hobbit”
Elijah Wood, who once again will return to the image of Frodo Baggins in the Novels "The Hobbit", in an interview with the resource ComingSoon talked about the fact that he is looking forward to meet with old friends.
- A couple days ago we spoke with Orlando Bloom, and he said he already got the script for both films.
Really? I have not yet read it. No, no, no.
- Do you enjoy the opportunity to participate in the prequels? After all, most of the characters from "Lord of the Rings" were not in the book?
It is true, was not. Listen, I'm just eager to get back to New Zealand and spend a little time. There will be a lot of old friends. By and large, I hope the old team will meet as a whole. To some extent, this is surreal journey, though, you come back at the past on time machine. But I'm very excited. There will be a lot of new and interesting things. Filming will be carried out with the help of digital cameras Red in 3D, and it's very interesting. And I can’t wait to read the script and see what they did with the "Hobbit." They stretched it to two movies, so I'm curious what they added to the plot, because specifically, additional material will be. Naturally, I want to see the final version of the script. I was in New Zealand about a year ago, I think, in February, and I saw some scenery. It was in the days when Guillermo was in the project. So, the entire design - just great! Alan Lee and John Howe are again responsible for the decoration. I think, on the one hand, we see much that is familiar, but on the other - a lot of new things.
- Are you planning to go to New Zealand for the shooting at the end of the year?
Yes, in November and December.
- How will you connect shooting in series "Wilfred" and in "Hobbit"?
I had to fly to the filming of "The Hobbit" in February, but dates have changed and there have been lining with "Wilfred". So now I'm going to fly there at the end of this year when in New Zealand will be summer.
- When you have gathered together with other guys?
All together, probably in 2003. Since then I have met several times with Peter and flew to New Zealand. And we met with Viggo. You know, we somehow still communicate with each other. But if the question is, when we were going at once in one place, it is likely in 2003.
- And yet you all have done symbolic tattoos during the filming of the trilogy. Can you add another during the filming of "The Hobbit"?
Well, maybe!
The release of the first and second parts of the novels "The Hobbit" is scheduled for 2012 and 2013, respectively.

This week Channel releasing the first episode of the film adaptation of the epic novel, costly, George RR Martin's "Game of Thrones" with Sean Bean, so that if the ratings of the project will be at a height, there is a chance that the "American Gods" will be promoted to the viewer even faster.

Interview with Jack Sparrow
In an interview with Johnny Depp, star of the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" has told how he worked with Penelope Cruz and Rob Marshall.
"It was great and fun, no problems ..."
- How do you like shooting in London near the Greenwich "sea gates"?
Greenwich is beautiful, magnificent. The fact that all the shooting in Greenwich for me came down only to the execution of tricks, like, jumping from one coach to another, because you also know that sometimes I perform tricks by myself.
- Is this important for you? Do you like to participate in the action movie?
Yes, of course, because there is so-called language of movement, sign language of a hero, and I think it's very important. And while the stuntman Chris looks great on my place, still, from time to time you will be able to witness the Captain Jack Sparrow's own persona.
- How do you deal with Rob Marshall? Is everything different this time?
Oh, this is a true delight! Clearly, each director is original, each with its own style. But Marshall is a real gift. First of all, he is a wonderful person, very kind and able to work as a team. He has fantastic ideas about the project, and he, in my opinion, perfectly embodies them into action. Yes, he is a special person.
- You brought a lot of your own ideas into the script of the fourth part, is not it?
Well, it looks like a research center, a factory of thoughts, you know. You finally gotten some ideas, and if they come to mind, accept them.
- How is Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth part? Will we see some new aspects of his life?
Well, there will be some variety in sexual life (laughs). Beware, spoiler! (laughs). To be honest, despite the fact that the entire movie the main characters are "in search of themselves", old Jack has found himself a long time ago. I do not think that there is a room into which he had not yet come, he just beats his head against the wall.
- How did you work with Penelope Cruz?
Oh, Penelope - a serious force to be reckoned with. We filmed together in the movie "Blow", and so I could say that "we really sherfed together for some years ago" (laughs).
- I’ll make such title to the interview?
Yeah. In general, we were shooting in the "Blow", and it was great, I mean that it is cool, a real giant in our business. You can pour out your emotions in the atmosphere, and it will take and catch your pass, and then come back spun. It's incredibly stimulating, she is the person, whom I admire, she's one of my best friends. So yeah, it is cool that we were filming together.
