Cars 2, review
About Pixar Animation Studios abilities from year to year please their fans with wonderful projects we can make legends, yet with such fecundity always give the highest quality of work is not given to everyone. Even when it comes to the sequel to an already much-vaunted animated film, the creators managed to exceed the original in all respects. But unfortunately, not this time.
In order to increase the popularity of alternative energy sources in Europe, it has been organized the World Grand Prix, in which all participants must be tucked in biofuels, thus abandoning the traditional gasoline. Our old friends Lightning McQueen and his faithful friend Maitre, of course, will take part in this competition. True, none of them guess that in the end, because of this trip to Europe, they will be involved in a sinister spy plot. Now old friends have not only to confront a gang of "buckets on wheels", but also test the strength of their friendship...
By its plot, "Cars 2" is very different from the original, making a strong bias towards the spyware detective, gradually moving away from the usual racing competition. Of course, the race is still plays an important role for history, but certainly not major. They are only coming out for the background to the foreground spy line, which, in turn, has been very dynamic and swirling. There is even traditional espionage genre with "unexpected ending," which perhaps someone may seem predictable, but certainly not the kids, for which has been oriented this cartoon.
From the new characters, in principle, I can’t notice someone special, except that the driver of Formula 1 and the main competitor of McQueen on the track - Francesco Bernoulli. This is probably the most charismatic character in the cartoon, as spies Holly and Finn assistants of Maitre are a little bit fresh and not very entertaining.
About the visuals, there is also nothing to say something special, because everything here is perfectly expectable. Very colorful water (in the 3D-glasses looks awesome), mobile facial expressions of characters, bright explosions of adrenaline and action-packed scenes under the appropriate soundtrack combine to form on the screen stunner. It is not to find fault.
In short, the "Cars 2" is fine for fun. The main thing is not to expect from it the testimony, and the depth of previous creations of Pixar, because from this position cartoon looks not so advantageous. It is funny and cheerful, but not deep in all senses.
Two Snow Whites can’t pick up the date of release
The Battle of Universal Studios and Relativity over attempts to move to the big screen the story of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' takes a new turn. Project scenario of Universal "Snow White and the huntsman" with Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron will overwrite Hossein Amini, author of "Drive" and "Wings of the Dove".
Last time Amini was listed in polishing the script to "47 Ronin" - a film with Keanu Reeves now shoots Carl Rinsh.
Confrontation between two relatively similar project has been going for several months. Recall that Tarsem Singh shoots for Relativity "Snow White 3D", where in the title role is occupied Lily Collins, the evil queen played by Julia Roberts, and handsome prince was listed to Army Humvee.
The director of "Snow White and the huntsman" is a newcomer Rupert Sanders, which specializes in video games. Actor's name was the most different from Johnny Depp to Viggo Mortensen, but as a result of the hunter who will save Snow White from death in a forest, will be Chris Hemsworth. The role of the Prince in this project will play Sam Claflin, who played the priest in "Pirates of the Caribbean 4".
Looked particularly ugly history on the transfer of the movie release dates. Studios move their projects so that they face nose to nose in the middle of the summer of 2012, but relativity eventually made a sudden movement and brought the picture of Tarsem in March 16, 2012. Thus, the studio has less than a year before the premiere. Shooting will begin in Montreal. The director has almost no margin for error: release schedule for next year is already fully packed.
Universal will have more time left, so the decision to invite Hossein Amini rework the existing scenario looks at least reasonable - the studio does not want to rush right off the bat and overtake competitors. Instead, Universal takes time out to refine the material that may provide better results at the output.
“Hop” review
Write reviews for movies like "Hop" or "Alvin and the Chipmunks" - is not the most interesting deal, because, looking at one of them you can say with certainty that you had seen everything: a very naive and grotesque scenes, over and over again repeated stamps, virtually the same style of jokes and stuff like that. "Hop" differs from the aforementioned movies except the main character (after all this rabbit, but not squirrel or a chipmunk), but because the creators of this film come across the same mistake as their predecessors.
Unemployed guy Fred, after lengthy disputes with the family regarding his future, accidentally knocked in his car an Easter Bunny, who, besides, still knows how to talk. It later transpires that this rabbit is not eager to engage in his Easter duty, and dreams of becoming a drummer. Meanwhile, at the home of the rabbit is preparing a massive riot ... chickens.
I would not want to turn into a picky snob, critiquing cartoon, designed for children, but, alas, in a different way to assess its just not possible. All of us have become accustomed to the predictability and the beyond pathos in such projects, but usually, the creators somehow attempt to mask blatant secondary nature of their work. Here, all the forces and means of the film crew spent solely on the appearance of animated animals, quite forgetting in this case about anything like the original jokes and unusual situations.
In fact, the main and probably the only advantage of the "Hop" are a terrific study looks of computer animals: their facial expressions, animation movements look simply gorgeous. Chickens are so completely nice characters in the movie, because as already one of their appearance on the screen comes alive and for a short time it becomes funny.
At this point, the problem is probably still in the absence of distinct characters, rather than in themselves actors. The star TV series "The Big Bang Theory", Kaley Cuoco was totally out of place, not by applying one-tenth of her acting charisma. James Marsden tried to be even slightly funny, but all attempts went in vain. Still, there would be much better come full transition to animation in the style of "Rio".
All the above listed is, of course, the opinion of the viewer experienced, appreciating in the movies, especially any kind of flavor that distinguishes it from others. So, if you really did not expect from this film and you have kids, then perhaps it can be seen.

Interview with Rupert Grint
In an interview with PARADE Rupert Grint, aka Ron Weasley - Harry Potter's best friend in all the eight franchise films, says that still is not ready to leave this chapter of his life.
- What were the last days on the set of the second part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"?
Harry Potter is a huge part of my life. I can’t even remember what was before it. Yes, the last few days were full of emotion. It was sad, felt a void. I remember when I packed my things in bags and boxes, I stumbled upon the toys, which are played when I was 10 years old. It was strange.
- What do you think about the future?
Everything is fine. It was great, but I'm looking forward and ready for changes.
- Did you like the idea to divide the last book into two parts?
I think it was a good idea, because what we have gotten two different films. The second part is more like an epic action game.
- Hogwarts is attacked. How did you feel watching the collapsing scenery?
It was very strange to observe how a place so familiar and habitual, your second home, have been razed. Everything happened at once - the film ends, faded film set. I was amazed when I saw that the Great Hall turned into a pile of burning rubble. For the fans it will be a real shock.
- Do you like to participate in the action and perform tricks?
Yes, it was great to shoot all of it. We're very much running, but because I do it infrequently, the feeling was quite unusual. There will be a great scene in which I was running from the courtyard from pursuing giants and spiders. I liked every tricks and I served them with pleasure. And never is injured, by the way.
- If JK Rowling will write another book, whether you will agree to participate in future projects?
I'm not sure. I've always been a big fan of books about Potter and for many years to stick with Ron. Now, we are as if the same person. But I still can’t give an answer now. Of course, I would like to play Ron's of middle age. Let's wait, and then understand what to do.
Peter Pan – a new Hollywood trend
Reassured with the "Snow White", Hollywood has found for itself another story that will be filmed soon. A good luck has smiled to JM Barrie stories about Peter Pan - the story of a boy who did not want to grow up will form the basis of at least five projects.
Fairy tales have long and strongly registered in the Hollywood trends, no matter who is the hero - the boy-wizard with a scar or a girl, in love with a vampire - the audience willingly escapes to the movies from reality. Box office, of course, the decisive argument in deciding whether to start production of the next picture or not.
Soon in the news will appear five projects related to Peter Pan. While they all are at different stages of readiness.
- The.Never.Land - John Suitnema scenario.
- Peter Pan - a proposal producer Jeff Rake, which includes the concept of Pan family adventures.
- Pan - Billy Ray script with assigned to the project Channing Tatum. Barry's book will undergo revision, according to which Peter Pan and Captain Hook will be brothers. The script for seven figures sum has bought Sony studio.
- Neverland - a scenario of Aaron Henry and Kirk Kjeldsen. Peter Pan is a villain, stealing London's children, while the Hook - a hero who must stop the villain. The project emerged on March 11.
- Neverland - a mini TV series from cable channel SyFy, a sort of prequel to "Peter Pan". It will involve
Rice Evans, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins and Keira Knightley.
The last time Hollywood turned to the fairy tale by JM Barrie in 2003. Tape PJ. Hogan's "Peter Pan" has failed at the box office, gathering at home only 48 million dollars. A year later has been released "Finding Neverland," in which Johnny Depp has played the author of the tale. The film is much more fortunate: he had even received seven nominations for an Oscar.
Attempts to look at the story of Peter Pan on the other hand also been made in the picture of Stephen Spielberg's "Hook," in which Peter Pan grew up and became a man with the face of Robin Williams.
Hollywood and redhead Sweden girl
Director of "Winter bone" is preparing to make the transition from independent films to the mainstream. Debra Granik is working on adapting the novel by Astrid Lindgren's "Pippi Longstocking".
Given that the heroines of the previous Granik films carefully sipped grief, the director will have to turn 180 degrees and make a film about one of the most fashionable girl of children's literature, which can be safely called a superheroine. While it is unknown whether Debra herself will be director of the film, but the work on the script for her direction is already underway.
Pippi - she's Peppilotta Viktualiya Rulgardina Efraimsdotter Longstocking - freckled redhead girl has incredible physical strength. Daughter of the captain, who became leader of the black tribe, Pippi is independent both morally and financially, thanks to suitcase with gold.
She takes on hands her own horse, won the famous circus strongman, puts out two police officers, who came to forced her to the orphanage, and immediately throws the cupboard thieves who decide to rob her.
Astrid Lindgren's books about Pippi were repeatedly transferred to the screen, but mostly in Europe. The first movie was filmed in 1949 at the home of writer in Sweden. There, in 1969 launched a TV series. Given that Lindgren didn’t like the film version, she wrote the script for the show. To date, it is the most famous adaptation of the books. In America, it was divided into four films.
Animated version of the adventures of Pippi wanted to make Japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki. In 1971 he came to Sweden, conducted the necessary studies and met with Lindgren. Unfortunately, Miyazaki did not get permission to shoot, so the project was closed. Cartoon version of Pippi adventure still exists: the Swedes have released it in 1997.
What’s new?
1). Director of blockbuster "Terminator: Salvation" McGee has won the right to occupy the director's chair in adventure film "Untitled Ouija Project" in the fight with Breck Eisner. Universal Studios has not been able to make a choice, but finally decided.
The project is produced by Michael Bay company - Platinum Dunes. The script is written by the authors of the movie "Tron: Legacy" by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The plot of the movie about a magical board was not disclosed, but apparently it will be an adventure family film in the style of "The Mummy" and "Indiana Jones".
The search for director was a long, until the remaining two candidates. Director of "The Craziest" Breck Eisner has interested in this film in early December last year, and McGee presented his vision in the twentieth of December. It seems that the second version of the studio came to taste.
Ouija - a plaque with the painted letters and numbers. It is attached to the arrow on the player puts his hands. If you can make contact with the other world, the needle begins to point to the letters, folding into words.
McGee had just finished work on the spy comedy "This means war" with Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon.
2). The legend of Japanese cinema will step back to the big screen by British director Gareth Edwards, whose debut film became the sensation of the low-budget movie in 2010.
The company Legendary Pictures, which appear in the asset hits like "Dark Knight" and "Inception", has acquired the rights to develop a new film about Godzilla in March last year. Partial funding and release will be assured by Warner studio.
"Monsters" of Gareth Edwards, shot on ridiculous price, by the standards of Hollywood's (500,000 dollars), talk about the journalist accompanying the rich heiress to home through Mexico. Because of aliens attack, the zone is in quarantine, but the heroes have no choice. Painting has earned a worldwide box office of almost 2.5 million dollars.
Once the studio is determined by a screenwriter, Edwards will start working with it.
The debut English film-maker won three awards of British Independent Film Awards, including the prize for Best Director.
Producers of the new "Godzilla" promise that their child will be much better than the movie, that he gave of 1998 by Roland Emmerich.
Release is scheduled for 2012.
Christmas premieres
"The Illusionist"
The illusionist Tatishchev becomes aware of his lack of demand in an era when fashion includes a rock band and various jukeboxes, entertaining the audience better than the illusionist. In a Scottish village, he meets a young and naive girl who was probably the last, really admiring Tatishchev and believing in magic. Together they travel to Edinburgh, where the magician, in order not to upset his newly friend, will have to grasp the basics of traditional crafts.
In "The Illusionist" grotesque and cabaret style of animator Sylvain Shome mixed with sad-happy style of the great French comedian Jacques Tati. The script of the latter, alas, was the basis for this cartoon. Tati did not dare to put it in his lifetime, considering it too personal. The daughter of Tati has given the right on the text to Shome after his father died.
The author of "The Triplets of Belleville" has changed scenario a little, moved the scene from Prague to Edinburgh (where his Django Films studio is located), added some episodes, accurately and faithfully preserved the aesthetics Tati art. Even films of Tati have never been so beautiful, like this one, where animators of the tape headed by Shome came to drawing the characters and backgrounds rear.
Critics have reacted to "The Illusionist" with great enthusiasm. Moreover the tape is in the most prestigious tops and in nomination for a Golden Globe.
"Gulliver's Travels"
Lemuel Gulliver gets a job to go to a neighborhood of Bermudas, in order to refute the legend of disappearances in infamous Triangle. After falling into the whirlpool, the hero finds himself on the shore and around him had already gathered a considerable number of Lilliputians trying to figure out who has gotten onto their beach.
Enough misanthropic satirical novel by Jonathan Swift could not bear to mankind acquittals, but managed to become part of pop-cultural heritage. First, it was designed for children, and now, "Gulliver's Travels" appears in open comedy version. Jack Black, such as those mentioned above, Ben Stiller, is a member of a cohort of leading American comedians of The Frat Pack.
Reviewers reacted coolly to the "Gulliver" by Rob Letterman, before engaged in animation and was known for his staging of the hit for studio 20th Century Fox "Shark Tale" and "Monsters vs. Aliens."
"Somewhere"
Successful actor John Mark (Stephen Dorff) mired in the legendary Hotel Chateau Mormon. His ex-wife left him their daughter (El Fanning).
The latest tape of Sofia Coppola has rehabilitated director after the lukewarm reception of her historical picture "Marie Antoinette". Drama "Somewhere" is largely overlaps with Coppola Jr. work "Lost in Translation." John Mark is like the same Bob Harris from "Lost in Translation", only younger and demanded, however, equally alienated and unhappy. On account of the movie there are "The Golden Lion in Venice” and numerous praises of critics.
Jon Favreau has left Marvel
As reported by LA Times, Dec. 14, 2010 Jon Favreau said that he was leaving the post of director of "Iron Man" franchise and is ready to follow the example of filmmakers such as Guillermo Del Toro and David Fincher involved in projects relating to the theme parks Disneyland and its classic characters .
Favreau intends to remove the "Magic Kingdom" - a family adventure fantasy with classic Disney images, "had such a great influence on the imagination" on creative people of his generation.
"Fincher will film a movie "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo" which is based on works by Jules Verne, and is associated with Disney in connection with a picture released by the studio in 1954 and thematic attraction in the park. As for Del Toro, he has been already approved for the post of director of a new version of "Haunted Mansion".
Favreau respectfully spoke of the legacy of Walt Disney Company and definitely made it clear that his break with Marvel Studios is not hasty decision, as well as not the result of damaged relationships. The main impetus was a desire to "find something that will ignite a spark" in him as a filmmaker, and give a chance to impress the audience, "and do it easily through the project, which is not a priori impose certain expectations". Favreau also said that while working on the stage of post-production sci-fi western "The Cowboys vs. Aliens", he spent several weeks engaged in the study material for the new film.
"Walt was able to make me pass through the whole range of emotions in childhood: from fear to regret. Films interspersed with rides in the theme park are my dream and had a great impression on my child's mind. When I first heard about "Magic Kingdom", I was going to visit Disneyland with my family. I made a bunch of notes, and I was not hard to fill the entire diary of ideas on the proposed concept. After that I was lucky to get as a tour guide, Tony Baxter, who knows every nook in Disneyland. He gave me the archival materials on the concept-art and acquainted with the original version of Disney. "
Favreau is no longer participant of well known franchise, earned over a billion dollars in worldwide box office, which gave a good push career to Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel Studios has made a serious player in the business of producing blockbusters. Nevertheless, Favreau is producer of "Avengers" movie, which will combine many superhero comics of Marvel.
"We both with Marvel have reached maturity. The years spent together were very important. Kevin Phage (CEO) has a good grip: he has many franchises, and deftly manages, and I'm happy that I could initiate a world in which these characters now live ... "Iron Man" gave me a great opportunity, and we with Kevin had have a lot great moments in a career related to the project. I'll be glad to see what other directors will be able to do in the development of this franchise. "
Favreau said he would be happy to remove the "Magic Kingdom" also because he will try to be different from the movie "Night at the Museum" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", which basically have a similar concept - an adventure in the company of the classic cartoon characters who play supporting roles. Favreau also expressed a desire that "Magic Kingdom" will have the same spirit as his other film - the family comedy "Elf" (2003) with Will Ferrell in the starring role.
"It's great when I can combine the parents and children on an emotional level, and through humor. I can’t wait, when once again begin to mix everyday life and adventure."
“Tangled” review
To write review of the full-length animation cartoons of Walt Disney studio is rather extremely complicated but at the same time simple deal. Complicated, because they are all ultimately one and the same, and to highlight something special in the next project - a non-trivial task. A simple, because all the emotions generated by the body for a half hour show another Disney creation can be described by only one word - love. That's about it, this and this is an animated fairy tale "Tangled”.
It is pointless to argue about the technical aspects of "Tangled”. Visuals usual in Disney's is impeccable, musical accompaniment habitually takes the soul, and the dub is as usual - high quality. If you're just a lover of high-end animation, "Tangled" - is another cartoon, which will take its rightful place in your collection of masterpieces of the genre.
But the technical details - is nonsense, when it comes to rethinking the classic Disney fairy tales. And here and begin complexity.
In "Tangled" everything in its place. And the blonde beauty with superhuman sized eyes, and reckless character, full of romanticism, and dumb minor characters, who are often funnier than the main, and classic villains with an equally non-human eyes, one look at that leaves no doubt as to their true intentions, and banality of the melodramatic techniques that go back even to the "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
Why? Why do these works again and again?
The answer is only one here. Because being created by the Walt Disney genius animation tradition slaps in the most important thing.
