James Franco and his movie about cinema impact on people
Closing his twitter-account, James Franco is going to do serious business. He acquired the film rights to the novel "Zeroville" by writer Steve Erickson. Action develops in 1969, and on the bald skull of the main character flaunts a tattoo of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift in "A Place in the Sun".
Steve Erickson - film critic and film historian, has written for many magazines, including "The New York Times Magazine", "Esquire" and "Rolling Stone".
"Nulevill", his eighth book, was published relatively recently, in 2007, and explores the impact that cinema has on the audience, deifying movies.
24-year-old student Ike Jerome study on architect, but also loves movies. From the side Ike seems an autistic - is the result of a difficult childhood and the actions of aggressive father, a religious fanatic. A young man arrives in Hollywood and makes an impression thanks to his tattoo.
Eventually he began working a dresser, and then moved deeper into the film industry, becoming an editor. His journey into the world of cinema ultimately ends with a tragedy.
Among the novel's heroes - Robert De Niro, Brian De Palma, and even the ghost of the Montgomery Clift.
Critics were very favorable to the novel of Erickson. "Zeroville" entered the lists of best books of the year, publications such as "Newsweek", "Washington Post BookWorld" and "Los Angeles Times Book Review".
Franco himself has no plans to shoot in the movie, so he will be just behind the camera. The work on the movie will start in early next year. It is worth noting that this is not the only book that James is going to show on the big screen. In January this year the actor observed the novel by William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying" and "Bloody Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy.
This summer, James Franco will start filming in the tale of Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great and Powerful", but this year the actor can be seen in the film "Rise of the Apes" and the comedy "Your Highness".

Interview with Jack Black
Star of "Gulliver's Travels" Jack Black in an interview with PARADE talks about parenting, about the relationship with the wife, and shares his experiences in terms of fun.
How to cope with the children
"The more I sleep, so agile cope with my children. Caring for children takes 90% of energy. If you do not have it, then you can be lazy and fall apart with the offspring near TV. The coolest days with my sons (2 and 4 years) - this is when we go with them to explore the world. My best advice as a father? Do not try to make a happy child even happier. Just leave it alone. When you give him one more ice cream or something else raising him to the next level of bliss, all can fly to hell."
More spice?
"I found that madly in love with spicy food. One of the challenges that I have in connection with this trying to solve is this: Will I be able to defeat this terrible habanera pepper? This helps me think that it travels through my body and kills nasty bacteria. When I started cold, I destroy it with super spicy lamb, seasoned with vandal".
Laugh laugh ...
"After the abundance of comedic roles in my career now I am more attracted to roles that resonate with my mental state. I like to be funny, but I also need to feel that I'm finding new ways and means of transmission of different important messages. Of course, there are several directors, for whom I can do anything. I'm ready to be a monkey in a donkey's skin, for example, for Jim Jarmusch".
To be married
A good husband is like a good gardener. You should give your partner a lot of water, and sunlight (of love and support). Communication means a lot: the ability to listen, to share your thoughts, find a good TV show to watch it together. My wife and I participated in Project Runway. It is very important to ask what you want. I have a tendency to do everything that my wife would ask, then I start to get angry and slowly simmer. Therefore it is better if you and your partner agree on everything in advance. Such obvious and strange discovery in 41 year!"
Rest
"When I travel I always try to visit local parks and green spaces. My favorite botanical garden located in Kraystchech in New Zealand. There are a lot of prehistoric trees."
Producer
"Development of a new project from scratch for me as a producer is a real enchiladas (corn tortilla stuffed with spicy chili). When I started to "Gulliver's Travels", we had no script, no director, just an incredible book written by God knows when. It was a great adventure to gather all members of our fantastic team and work together on this amazing story."
About games
"My family was with me on set in Texas, and the only thing I lacked was my expensive video game Red Dead Redemption. Perhaps in a past life I was a cool cowboy-killer."
Well, have some fun?
"I figured it best to play as an actor when I'm happy. Unfortunately, the fun does not begin on orders. So when someone says: "Do not forget to have fun!" It sounds phony and meaningless. It says: "Hey, pretend that you have fun!" I have found by myself that when pretending, then really becomes fun."
Jeff Bridges about Legacy of TRON
In a brief interview, timed for release of fiction thriller by Joseph Kosinski, "Throne: The Legacy", Jeff Bridges has shared his thoughts about the idea of the film with MTV resource.
- "I think the main idea of the movie lies in its title -"Legacy". What will it be? What do we leave our children behind? Is this the legacy of the wise? I hope the answers to some of these questions we hear and see from the screen".
As for the inevitable comparison of this sequel with the first film, released in 1982, the actor admits that he has reserved the right to participate in the sequel "Tron" for more than 20 years ago. When he was asked which of two movies he likes more, Bridges chose the second part.
- "I choose “Tron: Legacy". The original film came out 28 years ago, it is a history. I do not know whether I am right or not, I just think so."
Bridges previously mentioned that one of the main reasons why he agreed to participate in the project was his desire to join the new technologies in film production.
- “It was very exciting to be part of this process. This advanced technology attracted me to the project. I turned out to young people, we did a great job. For me it was a unique experience. I had never encountered such experiments. Amazingly, there is an opportunity to play the hero of any age. I know that now I can become a four year old boy. "
Faster than Fairy
"Tooth Fairy" Dwayne Johnson begins the rapid shooting of dastardly villains in the new film by George Tillman Jn. "Faster". According to the plot, Johnson hero is not a duck and violent thug and a criminal, but in his moral code it is provided severe blood revenge for the death of family members, so with this he will be busy throughout the film. His brother has been killed ten years ago by his criminal colleagues, and now Johnson coming back after jail will cut heads of all of them.
Taking into account trailer, Dwayne has rather bad fantasy, so we won't get a bloody slasher, although everything looks very briskly, rough and natural. Therefore, producers and viewers are expecting for a strong brutal crime thriller about the imminent revenge, impotence of justice and the rule of armed justice! So speak, a standard gentlemen set. (Soon, Nicolas Cage in the movie "Crazy ride" will do the same, but in 3D.) In general, let a little corny, but Dwayne Johnson in anger is quite pretty.
Also in the trailer we can see Billy Bob Thornton. He got the role of watchful policeman who will stick the law and order at every Dwayne step. This role is very similar to Thornton one in charmingly idiotic thriller "Eagle Eye". Though agent Thomas Morgan of mentioned film hastily changed his hair and migrated here, chasing Johnson's character.
Other roles in the feature film "Faster " went to Carla Gugino, Maggie Grace, Mun Bladgud, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Tom Berenger, who after shooting in "Inception" by Christopher Nolan's, finally began to act in serious movies.

Interview with Mark Wahlberg
In the new action comedy by Adam McKay of "The Other Guys" Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell play two New York City police officers involved in day after day bookkeeping, until one day they get a chance to prove themselves in action. In an interview Mark Wahlberg talks about his role in the film and the future creative plans.
- Your alliance with Ferrell phenomenal. When you realize that you would work with him?
I've realized it after the first meeting when we decided to dine together. You see, I met many people who play in the genre of comedy, so I know that most comedians in real life differ from the images they create in a movie. These are usually gloomy people, which do not like their screen heroes. The Will is another. In life he is the same sweet, kind and sincere, as you see him in the movie. I just did not really want to work with people trying to be funny and fun on the set, and are instantly transformed into disgruntled nerds after the command "Cut!" Also, I liked my future "mate", I just flattered that the role written for me personally, so when I was asked to join the project, I thought: "That's hot" - and happily agreed.
- There have leaked some rumors about a short film by Ricardo de Montreola "The Raven" and about your possible cooperation with Universal Pictures. Please clarify the situation.
Oh ... Yes, we agreed with the studio that I and my partner Steve will produce and star in feature film, and this is amazing! Idea of the film is just unbelievable.
- Is work on the film the event of the next time or not, because you are working on many other projects?
Well, we hope that the script will be ready in eight weeks. We already have an idea for a feature-length film, the only question is when the writers finish their part. Personally, I would like to start shooting as soon as possible. We are working on the script for "Cocaine Cowboys".
- About continuation of "The Italian Job" the rumors have appeared long ago. Do you think is it possible?
Yes, if that happens, it must happen now. The idea that continued to be no worse than the original film, only if this condition is to start motions. The first part has a good stuff, cool team of actors, at the result the film has so impressed the audience. It was a lot of funny and meaningful moments, and therefore, if we can repeat all the components of the first robbery, then it will great!
- You mentioned the sequel to "Four Brothers", do you have any idea for continuation?
Oh yes, and this idea is cool. I'm not sure, may I speak about this project, but believe me, everything - super. My character, style, looks after the neighborhood kids, got in trouble. Then he discovers that his biological father has a brother or sister, and it is kept in a secret...
- Can I ask you about the drama "Fighter"
This is the best movie that I filmed.
- This is a very responsible statement.
This is the best story of those who I know, and we've done everything in order to make it excellent cinematic version with director David O. Russell. We always knew it was a great drama, but there are also a lot of humor and emotion, and we all remember that Mickey Ward is not afraid of difficulties and won the title. This is a very real, very special film.
- When is the premiere? When will be shown the trailer?
Trailer will appear soon. I've already seen cuts, and we were delighted by what happened. The premiere is scheduled for December 10, 2010.
James Franco interview
James Franco, starring in the drama of Danny Boyle "127 hours" based on real events, gave a brief interview to the resource The Hollywood Reporter, in which he spoke about the peculiarities of shooting and expressed his attitude toward to masturbation.
- How did you prepare to shoot scenes in which there is an amputation of hands?
We shot this scene, just like any other "active" episodes. It was like a model in the early stages of work. In one of the first scenes my hand was wedged between two boulders, and I tried to free it. Before cameras were switched, Danny Boyle said: "I'll switch on the camera now, and you do everything as you do." I replied: "OK". Danny said that the scene lasted 22 minutes. I was exhausted, my arms and shoulders were purple, and only after that Danny was satisfied. In general, this scene has become a model of what he wanted from me in the future.
- And what was before you cut your hand off?
The same. I had an artificial arm, just like this, with muscles, veins and nerve endings, so I could only, following a script, begin to chop off her. We had a new digital Camera SR2K, connected to computers with cables, so operator had only to hold little cameras. Through these little cameras we can capture material which is inaccessible to usual portable camera. They allow you to shoot very long doubles. These long doubles by Danny shredded mercilessly, but his short cutting could not be more accurately demonstrates the authenticity of what is happening.
- Danny said that Aron Ralston, screen prototype of which you are playing, would have never answered the question of whether he masturbated when he realized that he was crushed by a stone for a long time. Does the fact that this episode was included in the film add a reality to what happens?
Well, he's a kind of gentleman, I think about such things he does not speak loudy. (laughs). And, perhaps, he did not want his mother read about it somewhere."
- But you have had to represent this process?
OK (laughs). You asked a question ... A lot of time I spend alone, especially when traveling or when I'm on the set. I live in hotels most of my life. I have nothing against masturbation, because I have many problems to solve in alone. You have to read a lot of school textbooks and so on (pause, laughs). That you ask me! So, when I'm alone, I masturbate a lot. I do not know why. Therefore, if it crushed stone on me for a long time, I would probably still masturbate.
Guillermo Del Toro Interview
Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro gave an Interview about his new project: "Do not be afraid of the Dark" and connection with the "Hobbit."
- Please tell us about your project "Do not be afraid of the dark". Do you like to scare small children?
"Yes, I like to scare small children and adults, too. Love this from my childhood".
- Small children are always afraid of everything. The main idea of your movie "Do not be afraid of the dark" is that something terrible is in your own home, and this is one of the biggest nightmares of every child. The fear many of us have moved from childhood to adulthood.
"What's funny is the idea of a blanket, which slides out of bed ... This is a classic moment of horror I felt as a child many times, but now has decided to abandon it. I suggested to the director Troy Nicci: "Let the little girl can find something in her bed under the sheets". You know, it's terrible. I think a large part of my imagination was formed when I was a kid, and now it enters into my films. I really like the idea that fear can return you to childhood and make vulnerable, susceptible to things, far from ordinary. "
- What exactly do you enchanted in the eponymous TV movie in 1973: the history itself or the way it was told?
"There is something really first-born in the tiny creatures, which for a small amount of extremely treacherous. This is not a gigantic monsters or werewolves, it's just a tiny soul, which is able to kill opponents of larger size. It hooked me.
- Can we talk a bit about what you've been doing lately and what will you do next? How is it difficult for you to give up "Hobbit"?
"It's very, very difficult. But I had no doubt why I did it, and I was convinced of the correctness of the decision taken by me in respect of myself and in respect of the project, by the way. I believe in it. My life, personal and creative, was full of plans, when it burst into "The Hobbit". But I beat to free up time to work on the film. You know that because of funding problems shooting postponed more than once and finally, the time has come when I had to deal not only with "Hobbit," but also other projects with which I was bound by contractual obligations. I could not give "Hobbit" a quarter of my attention, or half or three quarters. This film demanded of me 110% of my time and effort, which I couldn't give. I think then came a time when I made a difficult decision. "
- But you are still involved in the project as a writer?
"Yes, I'm co-authored the script. I cannot think or talk about "The Hobbit" in the past tense. I can talk about it only in the present. I have been involved in the creative process. Yes, I not a director and not entertain any illusions about this, but I'm a partner. I really want Peter Jackson shot the film himself. I fervently wish the film would be great, I work in a team and wish you all good luck.
- You said that your new film will be in 3D?
"Oh, yes. I am aware of the benefits of this technology and eager to try it in my next film. By the way, it will be shot in the genre of "good old horror movie".
Edward Norton: “I sincerely hoped to play Hulk”
Edward Norton on his page in Facebook suggests that he "sincerely hoped" to play Incredible Hulk in "Avengers".
Norton consented to shooting in super-heroic epic "The Avengers" in the role of Bruce Banner and his alter ego the Hulk, which also involved Robert Downey Jr., Skrlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.
However, Marvel Studios recently announced its intention not to renew the contract with the actor, because studio management believes that Norton has not enough "spirit of cooperation" required for the role.
Norton has not commented on the decision of the studio, insisting only that he had done his part of work as well as he can.
"How many of you know, I do not like to talk about the creation and filming of the movie, because for me it is important to keep the intrigue and allow the viewer to get pleasure from the "magic" of movie, - wrote Norton on his page on Facebook.
"But I am incredibly grateful to the support that I have fans of the Hulk and the "Avengers" and therefore considered that it would be rude not to answer them. So most likely I will not be able to play Bruce Banner in "The Avenger", which removes the studio Marvel. I sincerely hope that I can once again become the Hulk, but, alas, this won't happen. I know that many fans and fans of my character are frustrated, and that thought saddens me".
Without expressing his views on the reason for the suspension of his role in "Avengers", described in the application guide of Marvel Studios, Edward Norton says "thank you" for the opportunity to play the Hulk, calling the character "a legend".
"I'm really proud and happy that I was one of the incarnations of the Hulk, and I will feel great excitement, watching his future in the face of other actors. Hulk is bigger than we all together, and that's why we love him, is not it?"
This is a real Hung
Sometimes, in order to understand whether or not to move to the overview of a series, it's not enough just to read the section "liked movies", because sometimes the information is not so close to the truth!
After reading the description of the "Hung" and realizing that the topic of male prostitution - an excellent start had been made for comedy, I'm anticipating the tears of laughter downloaded the TV series. And in the end? In the end not so much laughter and as many tears! I had immediately paid attention to the logo "HBO"! Yeh, this is not a "ShowTime", which can afford frivolous "Californication"! If they could take up this theme, be sure the humor will be rather specific.
The first step in the column "genre" I want to add the word "social"! Social drama or comedy, no matter! Here you won't see a humor of "Men on call". Series saturated with dialogues. About life, about purpose, about children, about what people are losing and what they can acquire, if they believe in themselves and decide to change everything dramatically. "Hung" - series is not about the prostitute! This is a story about a man who is trying to fix his crumbling life...
The hero history is literally riddled with reality! And this thing is making "Hung" original and very spiritual TV series. It could be, but the whole mood spoiled by the fact that the series is positioned as a glossy sitcom! This is not about twenty minutes of screen time and off-screen laugh, but about the simple pleasures of watching! I want to end credits to the most viewers did not leave a smile and a laugh, but instead we are called to thinking and yawning search of meaning. And when in a rare moment on the screen we see funny moments, we begin to wonder why do producers add silly jokes to this drama?
The star of "Hung" series Thomas Jane (Ray) and Rebecca Kreskoff (Lenore) told TV Guide Magazine about what awaits visitors in the second season.
"I see that Ray is still in love with his ex-wife. It is certainly sad, but true, and he really wants to bring back Jessica," - says Thomas.
Kreskoff Rebecca said that her character Lenore, who works as Ray manager is not delighted by the fact that he may once again be reunited with Jessica.
"She is trying to put people friendly to her order to manage them. However, Lenore became friends with Jessica and this greatly complicates the matter!"
Second season premiere of "Hung" has been shown few days ago in 27 June on HBO channel.
