English studio Working Title Films, in collaboration with Peapie Films has acquired film rights to the novel of Andy Mulligan's "Trash". The script will write the author of "Real Love" Richard Curtis, in director chair will be Stephen Daldry ("Billy Elliot").
The action thriller will develop in our time in one of the third world countries. The main characters - three boys living in a landfill. Raphael, Gardo and Rat daily rummage through garbage to support their existence. But once they run into a leather bag, the contents of which forever changes their lives.
Mulligan "Trash" was published in Britain last fall and earned high marks from critics. "From the first page I realized that I have found one of the most interesting and dynamic books of our time", - the head of Peapie Films Chris Tike.
