Ryan Gosling in the role of ranger
The project of Gore Verbinski on the return of "Lone Ranger" on the big screen might be a little unusual than expected. As it is known, the Indian Tonto will play Johnny Depp, but the role of the ranger can get Ryan Gosling.
According to The Wrap, Gosling is at the initial stage of talks with Disney about the filming of the "Lone Ranger". If an actor could agree on work schedules, then he has a chance to appear in a very big project - perhaps the biggest in his career. However, Ryan Gosling is approved for the lead role in remake of "Logan's Run", and work on the film is scheduled for the autumn. Given that the "Ranger" is going to be filmed this fall, there is a problem with the schedule.
Gosling - a fairly high demand actor. In May, he will appear at the Cannes Film Festival, where he was a year ago, introducing the "Blue Valentine". Now Ryan will come with a film crew to the movie "Drive", which is involved in competition in Cannes. Director Nicholas Vinding Refn, who shot the film, will restart and "Logan's Run".
This summer in the United States will be released a comedy "Crazy, Stupid love" where Gosling plays a mentor of Steve Carell in the romantic affairs. Also, the actor starred in George Clooney's political drama "The Ides of March", which will be released in October.
"Lone Ranger" began as radio series, and then moved on to television. Disney, during few years is trying to shoot a feature film based on the "Ranger" and Johnny Depp is assigned to the project since September 2008. Some time at the director’s chair was listed Mike Newell, but then he was replaced by Gore Verbinski.
