Peter Jackson and his Beauty
The news that the film series "The Hobbit" efforts of all participants in the project suddenly turned into a trilogy rocked the online community. However, enthusiasm for the storm and darkness of assumptions about what audiences will see in Part III, lost a little, like a wormhole, the truth. Another film is needed not only and not as many fans as Peter Jackson himself and the main investors. It's only money. Or, given the terms of Middle-earth - Beauty.
What could be the third movie? Is it a "bridge" between the "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" or simply complement the history and adventures of Bilbo of gnomes? Will there be a scenario based on a literary source, or some notes and comments of Tolkien? Perhaps the final trilogy of the project will be fully copyrighted by Peter Jackson?
Responses to these questions yet, and by and large, they are not very important, and in compliance with one condition: Jackson need to keep the bar at the same height as in the case of the "Lord." If this happens, none of us regret the few hours of life spent on the viewing of "The Hobbit".
This is an important "if." Most importantly of all Legolas, Aragorn, Frodo and Sauron himself. Because the appearance at the frame of painfully familiar characters does not guarantee the success of the project. Moreover, as a rule, manipulation spectator memories so often substitute a good script, and relegates to the level of the staff of new characters.
Alas, while none of the previously demonstrated, does not allow us to assert that Jackson failed to repeat his feat of directing. More than restrained response to the demonstrated at various trade shows fragments of a weak trailer, candid rejection of technological innovation, and most importantly, the obvious fear of investors, expressed in the refusal of the presentations in the format of "48 frames per second," do not inspire optimism. The manual film companies participating in someone obviously very worried.
And here, it is worth thinking about the real reasons for turning Novels in the trilogy.
Yes, we are told that the material is enough to make another film. But it was even more while working on "Lord of the Rings", and that was not included in release version, simply supplemented director, seriously lengthen their timing and turning into real masterpieces.
Yes, we are convinced that there are some records creator of Middle-earth, which significantly extends invented them peace, and may become the basis for a movie. But this was not known at the earliest stages of the project. It is not obvious a couple of months ago, when finished shooting Novels. Why is the idea of creating the third part came up with Jackson and his friends only now, after the appearance not very favorable "sundress"?
After all, it is well known that the original concept of "The Hobbit" is just assumed the existence of a film based on Tolkien's work, and second, based on variety of additional materials and designed to provide a link. But after the resignation of Guillermo Del Toro, Jackson decided to abandon this approach.
Probably the explanation is very simple.
"The Hobbit" - one of the most expensive projects in the history of modern cinema. For some reason, each of its series costs almost as much as all three series of the "The Lord of the Rings." And this despite the fact that there have previously used computer models that are derived from the "Lord" concept art, practiced techniques of image capture, established technological chain of production of costumes, makeup, decorations. Perhaps the point is trivial inflation, and possibly increased appetite of participants. For example, it is no secret that a few minutes of screen time Orlando Bloom earns fees that other stars are for the main role in a feature film.
It is possible that all these assumptions are not true. I want to believe that the creators of "The Hobbit" are guided by a sincere desire to keep the audience in the Middle, and financial statements to its shareholders are concerned about their last.
But ... We know, corrupting force of their charms.
A strange desire to release the third part in the summer, rather than in December 2014, it is quite understandable, and well suited to the proposed version. No one has canceled the premiere of "Avatar," scheduled for December, and investors of "The Hobbit" is meant that such a confrontation, they should be avoided in any case.
