Paul Greengrass is thinking about “Fear Index”

The director, who made his name on spy thrillers about amnesiac agent James Bourne, a very long time is trying to choose his new project. Since Universal has refused to fund the biopic about Martin Luther King "Memphis", Paul Greengrass went through a lot of projects. Another can be a film adaptation of Robert Harris's new novel, "Fear Index".

Greengrass has been proposed to shoot remake of "Fantastic Voyage", which eventually went to Sean Levy. Interestingly, all the same Shawn Levy can take on the project "Frankenstein" for the studio Fox, who was also originally offered to Paul Greengrass. Director of "The Bourne Ultimatum" was flirting with the biopic about Cleopatra, with the thriller "Race", which took place Ron Howard, as well as the history of the brave captain of the ship "Maersk Alabama". Will Greengrass shoot a drama with Tom Hanks, yet it is not known, but there are rumors that this project will find another director.

The new object of director interest became not yet published novel by Robert Harris "Fear Index." The hero of the book, a brilliant scientist, Alex Hoffman, creates a very lucrative hedge fund, based on the computer, able to predict human mood swings. Hoffman world is turned upside down when a burglar breaks into his house and makes the encounter with one of the most unpleasant human emotions - fear. After some time in the financial markets starts panic and the world begins to change.

The novel will be published in Britain in September, and in the States - in January of next year. Robert Harris personally will write the script. Note, that the novels of the writer have already been filmed several times, including "Enigma" and the recent "Ghost" by Roman Polanski.

Thus, a list of unfilmed movies of Paul Greengrass can be replenished with another project. But we still hope that at least one picture of the above, director will bring to the big screen.
