Martin Scorsese will work with DiCaprio at fifth time

Based on the novel Jordan Belfort "The Wolf of Wall Street" will mark the fifth picture for the tandem of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. The film is in development for five years, for some time been managed by Ridley Scott, but in August this year it will begin to shoot Martin Scorsese.

Author of "The Wolf of Wall Street" Jordan Belfort founded one of the largest brokerages in 1987, but ten years later was convicted of money laundering and several other financial crimes. Belfort spent 22 months in prison, coped with drug and alcohol addiction, produced during the fraud on Wall Street, has written two books and now lectures on how to achieve success.

Back in March of 2007, Scorsese and DiCaprio announced a desire to work on, "Wolf," but the director and the actor could not manage to agree on work schedules. In addition, the studio Warner and Paramount could not share the project. In 2010, the film showed interest in Ridley Scott - by the time he also managed to collaborate with DiCaprio, shot him in political thriller "Body of Lies." Once again, the history of a broker was unrealized.

About a year ago, the rights to "Wolf" was acquired by Red Granite Pictures, and then Martin Scorsese once again expressed his desire to shoot a picture. The director said that he would film the book of Belfort after the movie "Hugo".

Adaptation of the "Wolf of Wall Street" was engaged in Terence Winter, writer and executive producer of TV series "The Sopranos" and "The Boardwalk Empire." He will once again walk on his work before, in August of 2012, Martin Scorsese will begin filming.

Scorsese and DiCaprio began a collaboration on historical drama "Gangs of New York," continued the "Aviator" consolidated "Oscar" for "The Departed" and most recently worked together on the "Shutter Island". "The Wolf of Wall Street" will be the fifth film of the duo, but still holds the record for a tandem Scorsese and De Niro. Director has shot Robert De Niro eight times.

Interestingly, in January of this year, Michael Fassbender in an interview said that he had discussed with Martin Scorsese's role in one of the upcoming movies. Could we talk about "The Wolf of Wall Street"? It will be known closer to May, when it will be announced the main cast. At the Cannes Film Festival Red Granite will sell the rights to release the movie.
