List of the most downloaded movies of 2011
If in 2010 the top position in the list of most downloaded pictures kept "Avatar", then in 2011, the first place has taken the thriller "Fast and Furious 5." However, the number of downloads compared to last year was substantially reduced.
Like last year, the information has been provided by Torrentreactor resource. "Fast and Furious 5” has been illegally downloaded from torrent sites 9.3 million times. Compared with the "Avatar" is somehow not serious: James Cameron's epic downloaded over 16.5 million times.
Torrentreactor notes that the number of illegal downloads has decreased due to tougher action taken against network piracy. In particular, last week the 49-year-old New Yorker Gilberto Sanchez, placing in net working copy of "Wolverine", received a year in prison.
However, the number of users actively using torrents, not shrinking. Given the figures in the report of Torrentreactor, we can assume that the audience simply prefers variety of films.
Top ten most downloaded movies in 2011 is as follows:
1. "Fast and Furious 5" - 9.26 million downloads;
2. "Hangover 2: From Vegas to Bangkok" - 8.84 million;
3. "Thor" - 8.33 million;
4. "Source code" - 7.91 million;
5. "I - Fourth" - 7.67 million;
6. "Sucker Punch" - 7.2 million;
7. "127 hours" - 6.91 million;
8. "Rango" - 6.48 million;
9. "The King’s speech” - 6.25 million;
10. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" - 6.03 million.
Interestingly, the number of downloads this year did not correlate with the box office. Thus, the profit-making film in the top ten was in last place, and "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" and "Transformers 3" have not been included, in contrast to the modest nominated for "Oscar", "The King’s speech" and "127 hours" .
