Daniel Radcliffe in new genre movie
Adaptation of the novel of Joe Hill "Horn" has replaced the leading actor and found director. Instead of the previously declared Chailly LaBeouf in the film will star Daniel Radcliffe and producer of the picture is assigned Frenchman, Alexander Aja.
For the first time the project was announced in March last year. Novel has been adapted by writer Keith Bunin, who worked on the series "In Treatment."
The protagonist of the novel, a young man named Ig Perrish, wakes up early in the morning with a wild hangover and discovers that in his mind grew real horns. Besides the unpleasant fact is that in the presence of Perrish people begin to say what they really think, and all the dirty secrets are on the surface. Now Ig can find out who really killed his girlfriend because of the crime charged him, though without any proof.
Hill's book was published in many languages. Recall that the writer - the son of the famous Stephen King.
"After reading the novel of Joe Hill, I could not help but to dive into this evil world and look at the famous myth in a new way" - says Aja. Director is familiar to the audience for such films as "Bloody Harvest," "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Piranha 3D".
For Radcliffe, "Horn" will be the breakdown in the genre of mystical horror: an actor previously starred in the film "The Woman in Black." However, the role of Ig will require a complete transformation. If you read the book, it turns out that Daniel was not suited to the role of Perrish, unlike LaBeouf. But the decision of the star of "Harry Potter" to star in the project was ery suddenly, so that we can only hope that Radcliffe and Aja will be able to convey the tone of the novel.
Filming begins this fall.
Daniel Radcliffe recently finished filming the drama "Kill your darlings", where he played the poet Allen Ginsberg.
