13-year-old dream of Quentin Tarantino called "Django unchained" came true. The director introduced the film to the public in San Diego, taking with him Jamie Fox, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, and Don Johnson.
"I always wanted to make a western, but the spaghetti western, - says Tarantino. - At first the idea was: a slave becomes a bounty hunter and chases the white. "
The historical accuracy of the director: "This was not necessary, because America before the Civil War itself was a very surreal. Unable to show it strangest and the worse than the reality. "
The fact that Tarantino film would be controversial, the leading man Jamie Foxx suspected from the beginning. However, knowledge did not deter him from working with all the wonderful people who surrounded himself with the director.
"When we started rehearsals, Quentin told me that he worries about my ability to understand the mentality of a slave, - says Fox. - He also thought that I could not reject my star status, and demanded that I totally scored on his ego and "started all over again." But it was easy: I grew up in Texas, and as a child I was often called a nigger. So it was easy to understand the character. "
Christoph Waltz has hinted that his character did not just save Django: "He needs it! But why - do not tell yourself you'll see! "Â
Dr. Schultz (now a dentist) - a great shooter, but he is not ready for the harsh realities of the South. Walz said that for him, as for Fox, Quentin partly recalled his own experience, since he grew up in Vienna. The director said that Schultz has a very interesting background, which was not included in the film.
Then the director introduced the eight-cutting of the film, which has a lot of new characters, but they are all from the first part of "Django".
Tarantino compared planters with large corporations. Walton Goggins plays Billy Crash, who trains the slaves for fighting. Samuel L. Jackson plays Steven, domestic servant, who controls the estate of ruthless Candy (Leonardo DiCaprio). "They are the two executive directors" - drew an analogy director. Maybe Stephen and slave, but he is a very unpleasant man. He can be called the father of Candy, because he brought up his master and is the only person who listens to the hero DiCaprio.
The film is still underway, there is still a week of filming. Tarantino said John Hill, recently won a role in the project, has already filmed all his scenes, but no, he did not take the place of the hero retired Sacha Baron Cohen. Hero of Hill appears in the company of Dad, and their scenes together Tarantino calls the most ridiculous of all, he managed to compose for his life. Director did not disclose details, but hinted that it is linked to the Ku Klux Klan.
Interestingly, one of the characters in "Django" is the ancestor of another hero of the film Tarantino. Quentin did not say who it was, but joked that Jango and Brumgilda are the progenitors of the detective Shaft.
Of course, some of the fans asked Tarantino, what will be his next project. And, of course, the director has no idea what will undertake after the "Django unchained".
A new picture of Quentin Tarantino will be shown in January 17, 2013th.
