Antonio Banderas will become Pablo Picasso
Actor Antonio Banderas will play the founder of cubism in the biographical drama "33 days" (33 dias) honored Spanish director Carlos Saura. In an interview with the Spanish edition of El Pais, he has hastened to declare that the image of the famous painter of his long-pursued. Biopic "33 days" will record not only the process of working on a painting by Pablo, but also focus on the relationship of the artist Dora Maar with a photographer, lover and muse of the master for nine years.
The script of the drama is written by producer Elias Kerehetoy by Carlos Saura with Louis-Charles Siryak. It is likely that the project as an operator to take part by Vittorio Storaro, who worked on the film "Apocalypse Now" and "Last Tango in Paris". He collaborated with Saura in six films.
Filming in French and Spanish will start next summer in Paris and in fact in Guernica. The project budget will be almost eight million dollars.
Previously, Saura had already turned to images of famous artists in his films. Thus, his drama "Goya in Bordeaux" tells the story of the last years of the famous Spanish painter and engraver. For Antonio Banderas the role of Picasso can also be not the last acting job of such plan: a star of "Skin, in which I live" is assigned to the project by Simon West on Salvador Dali.
