The author of the trilogy "Rush Hour" and "Red Dragon" Brett Ratner is planning to take up directing the film adaptation of an impressive series of children's books "39 keys". This franchise is so broad that includes a card and online game. But while there are talks only about one adaptation of the text.
"39 Keys" have a whole bulk of characters, but the plot will unfold around the main picture - representatives of a powerful clan Cahill, which included such famous figures as Napoleon, Houdini, etc. The main characters - a 14-year-old Amy and 11-year-old Dan Cahill - enter into competition with other branches of their kind in an attempt to find and collect 39 keys that would make them the most powerful people on the planet. The first book begins with the fact that the head of the clan Grace dies, which has changed his will shortly before his death. Heirs will have to choose between a million dollars and one of the notorious 39 keys.
For the script of the film corresponds Jeff Nathanson, who worked with the director on "Rush Hour". It is assumed that the film adaptation will be released on screens in 2014. However, there is no information about when exactly will start shooting.
Now director is busy in new projects, among the next - "Tower Heist". Earlier this movie had totally different concept and the central characters were supposed to play Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Chris Tucker.
