The end of “House” saga
Producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs, along with the leadership of Fox channel announced the closure of the TV series "House" - the eighth season would be the last one.
The reason for this - falling ratings, as well as the reluctance of the lead actor Hugh Laurie to continue to play the genius misanthrope doctor. The rest of the series has not yet shown to be broadcast until April.
The series "House" is on the air on American television from the fall of 2004. The action of the epic is built around the Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital, located in New Jersey. There works a brilliant diagnostician Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) - a complex person in dialogue, but in fact the only one who can recognize even the most complicated cases, which he investigates with his own team of diagnosticians, but often providing his weighty support in addressing the problem.
He is also quite resourceful person, in order to gain insight into the psychological problems of some of their patients (and colleagues too), which are often not reliably describe the symptoms. Because one of the main principles of the House - "everybody lies".
At the same doctor for many years suffered from pain in his leg, to appease them, he always takes the most powerful painkiller Vicodin, which have formed dependence at House on what being built important aspect of the plot.
The series was one of the main driving forces of the channel, which, however, did not spare it from the lower ratings. "House" has brought Actor Hugh Laurie a wide popularity, as well as two awards "Golden Globe" in the category "Best Actor in a Drama Series."
A considerable share of the glory due to TV series has received and Olivia Wilde, who plays Dr. Remy Hadley, whose sarcastic nickname was Thirteenth.
Among the initiators of the series there is the author of "Suspicious persons" and "X-Men" Bryan Singer, directed two episodes.
FOX owners about new schedule
The head of Fox Networks Group president Peter Rice and Fox Broadcasting Company Kevin Reilly answered some questions from reporters about the new schedule of the channel for the season 2011-12.
On whether it would be the last eighth season of "House MD": "It is quite possible. The series is still full of creatively energy. We will focus on the new season as usual, but if it turns out that it will be the last, then we will begin promotion of this fact. "
About the expected success of "The X Factor": "On the X Factor audition came, more people than any of the plays of American Idol. Now we are shooting live plays in front of five thousand people. It's funny to watch as Simon Cowell says the audience that she is the fifth judge. "
About the fact that Terra Nova is planned only for the autumn: "I'm not saying that the show will not be shown next year. We just wanted to try in the timeslot two dramas. I think you should not categorically state that we are not going to shoot additional episodes next year. "
About closing the "Human Target", "Lie to Me", "The Chicago Code": "I really do think that some shows that we had to close - simply because we have not found their place - can pick up other channels. These serials have an audience, and they themselves are good. Of course, we could be more conservative, but we have already given this show a chance and wanted to try new things. "
On whether there will be a movie 24: "I'm not working on a film company, but I often hear that so many want to make this movie. I think that they are working on the script. So when you hear 'we have not script' is likely to mean that they do not have a finished script by which you can already shoot. I think that many people have great desire to move Jack Bauer on the big screen. "
About the decision to forgo from "Locke & Key": "In fact, we’ve gotten a cool pilot. The decision was not easy. I would like it to be easy, but it came down to the fact that we really liked the other ordered series and they fit better. It sounds corny, but it was so. "
FOX channel TV series news
1). Two consecutive failures with animated series FOX could not afford. After closing last season "Sit Down Shut Up", in this year, the channel has prepared a new animated series "Bob's Burgers", which was yesterday extended for a second season.
After a very successful start - 9.38 million demo 4.5 (most of the season premiere rating to all channels) - series strongly passed. The last original episode has collected only 4.6 million, demo 2.2. Prior to that, the only novelty of FOX, which obtained an extension, was a comedy "Raising Hope".
In the next season channel will show seven animated series. In addition to veterans of the Sunday lineup in broadcast news will appear "Allen Gregory" and "Napoleon Dynamite".
2). As reported by Variety, FOX may lose one of their biggest hits - TV series House MD. Channel can’t agree on new contract terms with the studio NBCUniversal, which owns the TV series and produces it.
Studio has provided additional time (until April 15) on conversation to the channel, after which the series will be a "free agent". Such a rating show, with no doubt, will pick up almost any terrestrial channel, and especially NBC.
Another significant problem, and for both sides, was unclear situation with the cast. Hugh Laurie and Olivia Wilde signed on the eighth season, but Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps and Lisa Edelstein - no. Leonard, moreover, agreed to play in the Broadway production of "Born Yesterday", participation in which coincides with the beginning of production of the new season.
NBCUniversal wants to keep the same conditions that were sent on mission achieved before the beginning of the fifth season: the channel pays the cost of production of the show plus "slightly" above. For the hit TV series it is quite normal situation. However, you are all aware that in recent years, ratings of "House" went down (and actors fees have increased), so FOX wants some relief measures.
New Super Bowl records and Glee
Super Bowl XLV has set a new record in the history of American television. 45-th in a row NFL championship final assembled 111 million viewers, which is 4.5 million better than last year's Super Bowl. Final of the series M * A * S * H, which has been holding onto the first place from 1983 to 2010, now dropped to third place.
At least, 162.9 million viewers (in the last year the figure was 153.4 million) have seen the match. Pre-game show that started at 2 pm and went before the game, collected an average of 22 million viewers. At the awarding ceremony there are about 66 million viewers, about 14% worse than last year's result.
Immediately after the broadcast of the match, as you know, went out the next series of Glee, which brought 26.8 million viewers, ranking in the category of 18-49. Mini-contest with The Office, which came after the game in 2009, Glee has won, but in 2008 House MD has shown better rating.

House MD and Glee
Briefly about what awaits us in the following series. The first episode of Doctor House, after a painful hiatus, will please many fans of the show. First, we will meet with the mother of Cuddy (Candice Bergen). Secondly House will behave in the best traditions! We’ll see it all: his inability to produce a favorable first impression, the use of typical ploys and tricks to avoid the likely future mother-in and a great scene in which two would be unconscious at the dinner table. Wonderful!
But despite the fact that this is the first of several episodes with Bergen, the effect will be mainly focused on the Taub, which tries to reconcile with the idea that it so painstakingly restored marital sex is far from ideal. All of this leads to a big event, the consequences of which will determine the line of Taub for the remainder part of season.
"Glee" unfortunately, will return to us much later (7 February), but obviously we will see something big.
At 15 and 16 episodes will appear again Gwyneth Paltrow in the role of Holly Holiday and then go on a date with Will. At this time she will be a teacher of sex education (oh yeah).
Lady Gaga herself gave the green light to use in one of its most anticipated series of the hit "Born this way", which has not even released! This song will be performed in episodes in March or April, and will apply to bully Karofski, which continues to hide his homosexuality.
In the episode on February 10th song of young singer Justin Bieber will return to Sam Queen (in secret, Sam will even be hair-like Biber). On the other hand, as wisely said Ozzie Osborne, "so who f *** ing, is this Justin Bieber ???"
Also waiting for us a flashback to the childhood of Rachel, where she runs a Jewish rite of growing up a girl.
Everything is good, but we should still wait for a long.
“Help me” last season House series
Thus, the sixth season of the "House" has over by the episode "Help me", which is very different from all that I can remember. The shooting took place almost entirely outside the hospital, and the plot of - House is trying to save a woman whose leg was stuck in the wreckage of the destroyed building.
I think that in the most dramatic moments I felt moments not so strong, perhaps too much time has been paid to how House came to the ruins and abandoned them, just as he was trying to overcome their own fears when deciding whether to help the patient.
The series was filled up with brilliant moments: the episode with the dust, moment with a fire. Incredibly tense scene turned out, when House learns about the damage of the lung in women, as well as the time when the House decides to briefly cast aside their own beliefs and tells the woman that she should decide to do what he once did not dare - to lose a leg. The audience for a long time trying to understand why has House never wanted to lose his leg. Because he was afraid to live without it! His confidence did not allow him to decide to amputate, but the woman should take this dreadful decision. On paper, the story looks very exciting, but it seemed to me that the directors failed to convey the tension and sadness experienced by the woman.
However, episodes in the ambulance are simply beautiful. When Forman opens the door and the viewer sees House and the patient's husband, who just sit and look at the woman's body - one of those moments when the viewer is clear that the House is also subject to human emotion.
One of the best moments in the series, is when Forman tries to comfort his mentor, conflict. True emotions, true care for the patient. House really does not understand how it happened that he had done all he could, despite all efforts, the patient still died.
We cannot compare the last series with the "Broken" episode, because the first series has remained the best of the season. The latter series cannot be compared even with "The Tyrant" and "Baggage" episods, but if we consider only certain moments with House and Forman, then this series is probably one of the best moments for all House series.
The episode is called "Help me". It is obvious that the writers wanted to show that help is needed more than one person, referred to the series. Of course, it needed to the House, but also, and Thirteenth, holding a letter of resignation (the only time in the hospital, representing some interest). Although we are not reported in fact why she decided to go, but we understand that this is connected with her Huntington's disease and now the character - Olivia Wilde also need help.
Now about the final scene. So, what all were waiting. Tension mounts, wheezing and rattling oppressive music. We show a mirror on the wall, and there is a silence. Reflection of Vicodin in the mirror, heavy, confused House breath. Again this hard music, camera moves to the bathroom, where the House is sitting, his missing eyes. Close-up of his eyes - there is visible boundless longing. We see a man who, despite all his efforts, is still been alone with his pain. And suddenly she comes! We see how her legs are close to him. Music stops. Caddy came to House. Not only to help, yes, he needs help. She decided that she was always in need of House. Season ends with their kiss - a rare happy moment in the series!
House M.D.
DOCTOR HOUSE is an innovative take on the medical drama in which the villain is a medical malady and the hero is an irreverent, controversial doctor who trusts no one, least of all his patients.

His behavior often borders on antisocial but House is a briliant diagnostician
DR. GREGORY HOUSE (Hugh Laurie), devoid of bedside manner and dealing with his own constant physical pain, uses a cane that punctuates his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. His behavior often borders on antisocial, but House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him a great deal of respect. An infectious disease specialist, he thrives on the challenge of solving medical puzzles in order to save lives.
House shepherds an elite team of experts who help him unravel diagnostic mysteries, including plastic surgeon DR. CHRIS TAUB (Peter Jacobson) and enigmatic former "contestant" number Thirteen, DR. REMY HADLEY (Olivia Wilde). He has a confidant and good friend in oncology specialist DR. JAMES WILSON (Robert Sean Leonard), and maintains a somewhat volatile and undefined relationship with DR. LISA CUDDY (Lisa Edelstein), the Dean of Medicine and hospital administrator. Though the two are in constant conflict over House's duties and unconventional behavior, even she would admit that his brilliance is worth the trouble. Neurologist DR. ERIC FOREMAN (Omar Epps) serves as Cuddy's eyes and ears on House's team.
Former team members and newlyweds, DR. ALLISON CAMERON (Jennifer Morrison) and DR. ROBERT CHASE (Jesse Spencer) no longer have to answer to House as Cameron heads up Emergency Medicine and Chase works in Surgery.
In Season Five, after the shocking death of team member Dr. Lawrence Kutner, House's life began to spin out of control, causing him to hallucinate and lose faith in his own mental abilities. After a challenging and brief engagement, Cameron and Chase celebrated their wedding, Thirteen and Foreman continued their romantic relationship, and new mother Cuddy learned that House hallucinated a physical relationship with her. When the season concluded, House was forced to admit that he had lost his grip on reality and could no longer practice medicine. Out of options, he checked himself into a psychiatric hospital.
Season Six will explore House's long road to recovery. Can he find some version of sanity and normalcy? Can he stay away from the workplace that arguably drove him to mental instability but is also the only stable foundation in his life? Can Princeton-Plainsboro continue its celebrated Department of Diagnostics without him? How will Cuddy's relationship with House change, now that their imagined affair is out in the open?
HOUSE is from Heel and Toe Films, Shore Z Productions and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with Universal Media Studios. Katie Jacobs, David Shore, Paul Attanasio, Bryan Singer, Russel Friend, Garrett Lerner and Thomas L. Moran are executive producers. Jacobs directed the season premiere episode.
