Dead like Me
I have rather critical attitude to the modern American films and TV serials. But "Dead like me" - one of the few TV series, the first season of which was viewed in one breath and included in my list of "Favorite things for repeated viewing".
The movie cast is great.
Mandy Petinkin - has a very impressive track record, which contains such famous series as "Law and Order," "Criminal Minds", movies "The Princess Bride," "Dick Tracy", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", etc. In "Dead" he plays a hateful coach, a parent who, when necessary will chew, and praise, and read notation. Strictly speaking, for the main character, he is a kind of "kicker ass".
Ellen Muf - with a very special and unusual appearance, which is somewhat contrary to the "Hollywood" standards. All the main characters are beautiful. And if it happens "mishaps appearance", then only when it's necessary to remove weepy movie about ugly, which makes her way to the top of luck to all silicone babes. In the movie Ellen Muf looks pretty ordinary "girl next door", which at first do not care about what is happening around. But she soon realizes - "there is life after death"! Let not quite plain, with its shortcomings, problems, but this life is damn interesting. Especially when you have such a wonderful and useful hobby as souls collecting.
Jasmine Guy - plays the role of callous jockey, which will issue a receipt in the next instant, after the end of the paid time. She is not particularly mince words and able to precipitate any jerk. However, it turns out that this lady, who died in the already distant 80th, has her own weaknesses and some good feelings.
Laura Harris got the role of the former actress (Daisy), which, if you believe her stories, slept almost all the men in Hollywood. She loves money, and therefore, beautiful and expensive things. Not worrying about how to achieve her goals, and involves everybody into her scams. However, it seems that American political correctness has reached up to feelings - "blondes may not be a bitch all the time!" - proudly declare creators and eventually make from Daisy a lonely and vulnerable person.
Of course, the movie has a lot of other actors - Mom, Dad, younger sister, Georgie, her boss, the secretary in the office ... Characters were very different, interesting and multifaceted. From time to time there are some patterns, but they quickly break down - the characters put into situations where they have to move away from their normal behavior and to show what is usually hidden from prying eyes.
A wonderful TV series with a dose of black humor!
