One of the most iconic fantasy films of the last century, the movie of Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" can get a prequel or sequel. The company Alcon Entertainment completes deal to acquire the franchise rights from the executive producer Bud Yorkin, who will also work on future projects based on the cult Scott movie.

Alcon has no right to shoot remake of "Blade Runner". However, the company has right to shoot films or television projects, based on the presented situations in the Scott film.

Alcon Entertainment is behind such projects as "The Blind Side," "The Book", "Jeans mascot," "Insomnia" and "P.S. I Love You." For the founders of Alcon Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosovo working with Bud Yorkin is a great honor.

"This is a solid acquisition for our company and our favorite film - Johnson said - We are aware of the responsibility for any produced by us in the future prequel or sequel to "Blade Runner." We have ambitious plans for the franchise and a desire to expand media framework in which we will work with it. "

Scott's classic film based on the novel by Philip K. Dick was released in 1982. Work on it was fraught with difficulties, but the result and to this day can compete with many modern science fiction films.

Interestingly, in a press release there is not a word about the company's Ridley and Tony Scott's Scott Free, as well as no mention of the Web prequels, which the brothers wanted to shoot in 2009.

Zack Snyder has left the director's chair in "Xerxes." Instead of him, the film, which continues the theme of "300" may be withdrawn by Guy Ritchie. According to one version, the decision was made by Warner Brothers studio bosses for higher concentrations of the author of "Watchmen" in developing of a new "Superman". If that does not come in the coming years, the studio could lose the franchise rights and will be forced to re-engage in its licensing.

In addition, it is assumed that such a move could have been caused by not so good results of test shows of upcoming Snyder project "Sucker Punch". In addition, affected not the highest box offices of two recent projects of director - "Watchmen" and "Legend of the Guardians".

"Xerxes" is based on not yet released comic book by Frank Miller, author of the same "300" and "Sin City". Painting tells about the formation of the Persian king. Given that, apparently, the action unfolds ten years earlier than in the film precursor, then Gerard Butler has a chance to re-embody the image of Leonid.
Film "300" was released in 2006, becoming a major hit. With a budget of $ 65 million total project fees accounted for nearly half a billion dollars. The latter Snyder movie "Sucker Punch" is preparing to be released in March 2011.

Guy Ritchie is now engaged in post-production of sequel to his hit "Sherlock Holmes", which is scheduled for release in December 2011.

Jason Statham, starred in the blockbuster "The Mechanic", in an interview with Collider resource responded to questions about the projects "Expendables 2" and "Crank".

- You have gotten a wonderful creative alliance with Mark Neveldayn and Brian Taylor. What first comes to mind when you ask about "Crank" and "Crank 2: High Voltage," and whether you think that will be removed and a third film?
I am ashamed to admit, but the second film has turned out not as good as the first. The first had a great success. In addition, usually when the sequel is removed, it needs more money.

- Yes, the second movie was crazy.
Yes, absolutely, and it just reflects the inner world of this couple of directors. I have no idea, whether we'll take a third part. Who knows? It was just cool to work with these guys, not like other directors. They are perfect fools. By the way, Neveldayn not so long ago moved out of the city and completely changed his lifestyle. I do not know how he is interested in filming of the next part.

- They're currently shooting "Ghost Rider 2", then, they are back in the game.
We are always in touch with them. The idea of a third part is present, but I don’t know whether we will realize it.

- Have you heard something about "The Expendables 2"?
Yeah, I heard about the sequel and will be the first who’ll say "yes" if Sly will call me. When the picture just came out in the lease and began to receive positive feedback, we talked with Sly about how it would be cool to do something like that again. And if there is a person who is able to remove a worthy sequel, then it’s only Sly Stallone! We had a great time. This is what I would like to repeat.

- How do you usually design your shooting schedule? You work simultaneously on multiple projects, or prefer to queue them all?
Sometimes I just "sew." For the first time in several years for the next few months I have no plans. Usually in January the last three years before me was precise schedule. The trouble is that once you sign the contract, once there is a danger that you might miss something very important. All that I am planning now is a couple of projects, but now I'm waiting just Stallone's next film - "The Expendables 2".

- It was suggested a lot of assumptions that "there will be definitely a sequel", "may be" ...
Likely to be. I'm waiting for positive outcome.

- Hence, is this that project you are waiting for?
Yes. Right now - this.

Letter from Gandalf

Ian McKellen, embodied on-screen image of the magician Gandalf in the trilogy of Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings", has confirmed his participation in the Novels "The Hobbit" on the page of his official website.

"All I had to decide concerned only allotted to me time.
I’m 71 and I'm pretty strong, although at my age, who knows what can happen when I go around the corner? More than a year, I, as I could, planning my careers, taking into account the fact that the filming of "The Hobbit" may begin at any time. We moved round Waiting for Godot from Australia to New Zealand in early 2010, assuming that's where I stay, when there will be a green light long-awaited project, but again there was a hitch. In Wellington, I met with Guillermo Del Toro and later read the script, written by him and the rest of the writing fraternity of "The Lord of the Rings" to the first part of "The Hobbit". Stylistically, the script was designed in the spirit of the trilogy, with the same humor and romanticism.
When Peter Jackson, in addition to producing, became director of the project, he maintained communication with me, and told all the new information. I have read and the second scenario, provided that I will not disclose its contents to read.
After a confrontation with the actors' unions and the threat of transfer of filming in New Zealand, it was unexpectedly announced the casting and the official start date of filming - in February 2011. Martin Freeman, who was invited to the role of Bilbo, seemed a perfect candidate. As soon as my agent is negotiating with Warner Brothers, I was fascinated with the question: Is it worth waiting on the role of Gandalf, which I longed to play, something accomplished a new and unexpected? Sequels are usually less endows actors with good roles than the original movies.
Will I be able to part with Gandalf? Is important that Michael Gambon has been playing Dumbledore not from the beginning?
Talks about my participation in the project were not related to fees and deadlines. Gandalf needed on a set for the next 18 months, given rather significant pauses, which I’ll take to work on other projects. My concern that I cannot easily let go with a Middle-earth has gone.
I am happy to report that I proceed to shoot in 21 February 2011 in Wellington".
Ian McKellen,

1). The Australian actor has promised that he will play much better in the sequel. In March of the next year, Sam Worthington will start shooting in "Clash of the Titans 2", which again will play the hero of Greek myth - Perseus.
Plot and acting in a film by Louis Leterrier aroused the righteous wrath of the critics, while the hasty conversion to 3D was the cause of dissatisfaction of many viewers. Yet this did not prevent "Clash of the Titans" to collect 493 million dollars in worldwide box office.
Sam Worthington was another actor, negatively responding about his work. Before him, Mark Wahlberg confessed that he has worked poorly in the "phenomenon", and Shia LaBeouf lashed out at the fourth "Indiana Jones".
"I think that we will improve the film - says Worthington. - It seems that the "Clash of the Titans" has disappointed a lot of people. And I totally agree with them. The main reason to shoot a sequel - require viewers to see the sequel. And it makes sense to reach for it, if you know what you can do better. All of us: the director, writers and I have - just such intentions. To be honest, I think I can play much better. "
In addition to Worthington, in the sequel will back Liam Neeson, who again will play Zeus.
In the director's chair "Clash of the Titans 2" is Jonathan Libesman, which release his thriller "Battle: Los Angeles" in the next year.

2). The author of novels, which became the films basis on "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" took over the job of turning his book "The Lost Symbol" in the script. Studio Columbia Pictures in February this year launched a development pattern for the new work by Dan Brown.
For the third time the hero of the writer becomes an expert on solving a character Robert Langdon. This time he will meet with the world of the Freemasons, and the action develops in Washington.
The studio has already hired a screenwriter for the project. "Lost symbol" began to adapt Stephen Knight, nominated for an Oscar for the screenplay "Dirty Pretty Things." But now the order goes directly into the hands of the author of the novel, and this is the first time that Hollywood gives Brown the opportunity to transfer his child into the screen.
Akiva Goldsman wrote the screenplay for "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" adapted in collaboration with David Koepp.
Not yet known who will be in the director's chair – Ron Howard, who shot the previous two pictures didn’t give his answer officially. As well as Tom Hanks has not yet been signed to star in the role of the scientist for the third time.
"The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" have earned a worldwide box office total of 1.24 billion dollars.

Last weekend USA premieres

Last weekend the U.S. release has become a battlefield of three major premiere. Sequel to "Tron" by Joseph Kosinski, claiming the title of one of the biggest releases of the year. Adaptation of the classic cartoon "Yogi Bear". High-budget romantic comedy "How do you know?" A more modest number of copies has gotten tape "Rabbit hole" with Nicole Kidman.

“Tron: The Legacy”
Genius programmer Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) has lost for many years. After twenty years of his disappearance, the son of the hero, Sam (Garrett Hedlund) is trying to clarify the circumstances of missing fathers. As a result, he finds himself inside a computer program, which is sharpened considerably older, but still alive, Kevin.
The original tape of Stephen Lisberger "Tron" (did not find a particular box-office success in contrast to the published one year later movie "War Games" by John Bedem on similar theme) for many years was considered a cult among different kinds of geeks and therefore has earned the reputation as a bit frivolous. Already in the early 2000's the ratio of the film was less frivolous, and soon rang bells, signaling the beginning of the renewed interest to the tape.
Critics have reacted with indifference to the tape, appreciating its technological excellence, against which, they said, lost everything else, this level is not appropriate.

"Yogi Bear"
When Gellistone Park begins to lose visitors, the owner decides to get rid of the burden by selling the land. Thus, employees will lose their jobs and the green zone, but also lose their shelter and its inhabitants, including troublemaker Yogi Bear and his nephew Boo Boo.
One of the major treasures of the studio Hanna-Barbera Yogi Bear in 1961 became the star of a full show, which lasted just a single season, but after overgrown with numerous sequels, including full-length movies. Sparing antagonist of the bear is Ranger Smith spends most of his working time in trying to protect ordinary visitors of the park from the encroachments of Yoga in their food, offering food to the hero to seek other ways of fishing.
After the commercial success of the film adaptation of "Scooby Doo" with computerized dog instead of hand-drawn idea of a new version of "Yogi" is not perceived by some shocking event. The only problem is that mostly the entire cult formed around a cartoon, basically fit into the limits of U.S. territory. But the scale of Eric Brevig tape is at least: a large budget of $ 80 million and the stars (Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake), who gave their votes to the heroes.
Aykroyd has admited that for him to speak for Yoga - an important and worthy job, given the national love for the character. One of the notable moments of a tape in a joint voice of the two stars during the entire process - most often the actors have to recite the text alone.
Critics have reacted on the movie with some disdain, stating that "The Bear" - in general, relatively digestible family movie, but hardly worthy of repeated viewing because of its strong stamping.
