Crime drama "The Town" has confirmed that Ben Affleck's directorial debut "Gone Baby Gone" was no accident. Now the actor chooses a new project. Perhaps, there will be a film under the name "American Bullshit" – according to scenario of the "Black List".
Every year in Hollywood is published so-called "black list" with very interesting scenarios, which for various reasons have not been in production.
Of course, sometimes the scripts from the blacklist still get the green light. One of the closest of these films will be "Beaver" Jodie Foster.
"American bullshit" has been written by the author of "International" Eric Singer. The basis of his script is a real special operation conducted by the FBI under the code name "Abscam". It was held in the late 70's - early 80's and was originally aimed at the investigation of trafficking in stolen goods. The FBI was going to introduce in a criminal environment of their agents under the guise of middlemen who buy the stolen masterpieces for wealthy collectors in the Middle East. Subsequently, the operation turned into expose corruption at various levels.
In 1978 FBI has founded a front company Abdul Enterprises, Ltd. on behalf of a fictional Eastern Sheikh Kambira Abdul Rahman. Office staff recorded their negotiations on behalf of Sheikh with the authorities. "Rahman" wanted to acquire American citizenship and to build several casinos in the United States.
In search of support for authorities alleged Sheikh sent to the United States his people who should have received U.S. passports, a license for gambling, as well as generously reward anyone who will help them.
Abscam was mostly developed by Melvin Weinberg, a former swindler specifically rescued from prison for the occasion. It is interesting that the roles of representatives of Sheikh FBI has attracted about a hundred criminals of Arab, made a deal with prosecutors and passing in the witness protection program. Such a decision came for a simple reason: while there were not so much FBI agents with the eastern appearance and knowledge of Arabic.
The operation was completed in 1980. According to its results before the court should have brought 17 senior officials, including two senators and six congressmen. Total in the early 80's on charges of corruption have been convicted more than 18,000 people. How many of them turned out to be behind bars by the actions of the FBI - not known: there was only declassified Operation Abscam.
Ben Affleck's participation in the project has not yet been approved, but the director is serious concerning the new movie. He had in mind there are two scenarios. The Trade - about how the New York Yankees pitchers swapped wives and Replay - Ken Grimwood's novel adaptation of a 43-year old DJ, who dies, comes in an 18-year-old and re-living his life.
Actor and director Luc Bellevue from Jan. 21 starts filming crime drama "Une nuit", based on a history of the brutal murder of Kitty Genovese. In starring role will be Charlotte Gainsbourg, her husband, Ivan Attal and Natalie Bay.
Kitty Genovese's name became popular not only in history but also in psychology textbooks. On March 13, 1964 in New York the killer has killed the woman in front of several witnesses, but none has seen fit to intervene. Such phenomenon is called "Genovese Syndrome" or "outsider effect".
Someone Winston Moseley struck twice Kitty with a knife, then fled. But after a while he returned to the scene found the wounded victim, raped her and inflicted several stab wounds. At least a dozen people saw what was happening, but did not realize what was happening. Most felt the cries of the dying Genovese as a drunken quarrel.
Public response, which caused the death of Kitty, has led to reform of the receiving phone messages about crimes.
Murder of Kitty Genovese, not only stirred the public, but also left a legacy in pop culture. In particular, in the graphic novel "Watchmen" grim vigilante Rorschach decides to fight crime after the murder of Genovese and wears the face mask, made of her dress.
It is not reported, what will be the roles of Gainsbourg, Attalia and Bai, but it can be assumed that Charlotte will play the victim of infamous crime. The last film with the actress was the drama "Tree", which has closed the last year Cannes Film Festival, most likely this year Gainsbourg appears again on the Cote d'Azur with a new picture of Lars von Trier's "Melancholy".
Prominent British-American director Peter Yates, the author of films "Bullitt," "The Hot Stone", "Friends of Eddie Coyle," "The Deep", "Krull," "The Dresser" and many others, died on the 82-year life.
He began his way in the British cinema as a server. Among those whom served Yates on the set was Tony Richardson.
The first truly notable work Yeats work becomes the crime film "Robbery" after which he moved to Hollywood to put out there, perhaps his most famous painting - "Bullitt" with Steven McQueen. Now chase from the film is considered a reference and copied in many other films.
Yates, by genre, was rather versatile writer. Following the "Bullitt" he shot melodrama "John and Mary" (starring Dustin Hoffman and Mia Farrow) and a military movie "Murphy's War." Again to the criminal subject he addressed in an ironic film-robbing "The Hot Stone". One of the most brilliant, but, unfortunately, is not so notable works of director at the time was the film "Friends of Eddie Coyle" - is extremely tough and realistic adaptation of novel by George V. Higgins.
A huge box office success has enjoyed the adventure film "The Deep". In two years after it was released, producer has gotten his first nomination for an Oscar for the drama about growing up - "Breaking Away."
After the commercial failure of fantasy "Krull" Yates shoots is certainly one of his best films - "The Dresser", where the main role performed by associates of the British "kitchen sink drama" Tom Courtenay and Albert Finney, noted for his performance nominations for an Oscar. Tape claim awards in five categories, but received no one statuettes.
In addition to prominent movies, Yates career is also full of strong and simple genre films, such as thriller "Eyewitness", "Suspect" and "An Innocent Man". Over the past 20 years the director was shooting not as active as in the new century, confined himself to television work, including adaptation of "Don Quixote".
Peter Yates has died aged 82 after a long illness.
A screen adaptation of the novel "London Fields" by Martin Amis, crime thriller from the writers' of "Quantum of Solace", the role of Courtney Love - Englishwoman Gemma Arterton did not like to hold her tongue, in contrast to overseas colleagues and gladly shares her plans.
Of course, such public policy is a headache for actress publicist. Recently, he was forced to deny rumors that the ward is a female candidate on a major role in the new "Alien", but Gemma at the Toronto Film Festival has confirmed that Ridley Scott actually asked her to meet and discuss some project. "I do not know what's going on, but I really liked him in the "Disappearance of Alice's Creed."
In an interview with GQ magazine, Arterton said, that she would soon play a "very cool role in the life" from director Michael Winterbottom, who is going to filmed novel by Martin Amis "London Fields". The main character is planning her own death, as potential murderers are minor crook, striving to become a champion in a game of darts and weak-willed aristocrat with a hyperactive son.
The problem is that Winterbottom believes that the project is still very far from realization. In June this year, director said that he need to wait several more years. But if Gemma Arterton is really in the main role, there is a chance that the "London Fields" is closer than it seems.
Arterton also can play in crime drama "Corsica 72" on scenario of the authors of two recent pictures about agent 007 by Nile Pervis and Robert Wade. According to the plot, two criminals on Italian island Corsica, falls in love with the same girl. Gemma said that it is the "best scenario of all that I ever read." The director of the project is going to be Luke Guadanino.
And finally, Arterton can take part in two projects related to the legends of rock. The actress casts into the role of Marianne Feytfull and Courtney Love.
Film about Feytfull is yet at a very early stage of development, while the drama "All Apologies" about Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love may be a new work directed by Oren Moverman.
In the near future Arterton has shooting in "Clash of the Titans 2", and western movie by Richard E. Grant "In With The Outlaws" and Henrik Ibsen's performance "The Builder Soilnece" in one of London theaters.
Despite the fact that the latter union of two great actors did not become a sensation - crime drama "Righteous Kill" earned negative comments of critics and $ 77 million in worldwide box office, there is a chance that Al Pacino and Robert De Niro will film together again, but this time in the gangster drama of Martin Scorsese "The Irishman".
Two years ago, Scorsese and De Niro planned to tackle the adaptation of the novel by Charles Brend
"I Heard You Paint Houses". The book's title refers to the mafia slang, means that a person that is accessed in this way, works killer, mercenary, and after the murder on the walls and floors of houses are still stained with blood.
In his work Brend described the life of a real-life killer Frank "Irishman" Sheeran, with whom he met shortly before his death. He confessed to the writer that worked at one of the biggest underworld crime bosses, and that he killed Jimmy Hoff, the former U.S. trade union leader, suddenly disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
In addition to Pacino, the project looks closely and Joe Pesci, who worked with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro on the "Casino", "Goodfellas" and "Raging Bull". Script from a book has been written by Stephen Zeyllyan, author of "Gangs of New York" and "American Gangster".
Now Martin Scorsese takes his three-dimensional project "Hugo Cabra" by a graphic novel by
Brian O. Selznick. "Irishman" is on the line along with several other films. In particular, maestro wants to film the book Shusako Endo "Silence" in 1966 on heavy everyday life of the Jesuits, seeking to bring Christianity in Japan 17-th century. At the draft have been already attributed such actors as Benicio Del Toro, Daniel Day-Lewis and Gael Garcia Bernal, but shooting was postponed indefinitely.
To date, I've seen only two seasons of the series "Sons of Anarchy". Can not but rejoice that fact that channel FX has decided to extend the series for a third season, which started on the channel last week.
So, what is this series about? The series is about biker club called "Sons of Anarchy", which was established many years ago by bikers, before the narration of our history in order to protect their civil rights and liberties. By the beginning of the movie action, the club has turned into a serious organization, major earnings which are the sale of weapons. But what is an amazing, that city residents, where is settled Club, love and trust bikers, "sons" do not give to sell the drugs on the streets and watching the city order. But not all so smoothly...
... For the life in the quiet town is closely watching the bikers from the club "Mayan family" and neo-drug dealers, whom the "sons" are prevented from doing business, and they had no objection by any means clear the way to the streets of their city.
In the center of the picture is the life and inner experiences of the young vice-president of the club, the son of the founder of the club, which is trying to decide for himself what kind of Club he want to see in the future - continued to engage in criminal business, or returning to the origins of its creation...
In general, the series is a serious family crime drama from the creators of the police series "The Shield", with great actors in the lead roles.
Crime series - one of the most popular topics. Not for nothing there are dozens of excellent, spanning from the head, interesting TV projects on criminology. This topic was overtaking virtually all sides. Starting with Colombo and finishing with Dr. Laitman (from the famous series "Lie to me").
"The Shield" shows criminal world quite differently. Here are, are ruling streets. The world is cruel and mercy can be expected. Not anyone can be trusted. The atmosphere of crime created an incredibly realistic. And the operator's work leaves its mark.
Detective Vic Mackie is the central figure of the "Shield". He does not recognize the rules, he acts on his methods. And only by such methods he can reduce crime. He violates all the laws, and get out of scrapes in various ways. And his steeper and charisma virtually have no limits.
The Strike Team consists of detectives: impenetrable and going to ram Wick Mecca, the restless Shane Vendrell, a peaceful and responsive Lem (Curtis Lemanski) and sensible and quiet Ronnie Gardokki.
In the same building work and concerted companions in the face of detective Claudette Wims and Dachboy Vahenbah, and officers Danny Sofer and Julian Lowe, detectives Tevon Harris and canny Armando Rent, beautiful and naive agent Olivia Murray and lieutenant John Kavanagh.
The series subjects are very interesting. Manipulations of "bad" cops almost drive them to prison, but they find a way out. Although, I think that sometimes, creators are overdoing with erotic scenes. You do not have to show them in such large numbers. It is worth mentioning that the series is very similar to one of my favorite - "Training Day". Bad cop, own methods, one goal - are the key words that link these projects.
The cast picked up very well. Michael Chiklis was three times nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor, and once he took the trophy. His character and his game make "The Shield" even more special.
From the first training the series plunges the audience into a kind of bloody meat grinder: murderers, rapists, pimps, pedophiles, freaks, drug dealers, prostitutes, and so each series. The film is very dynamic and filmed in a realistic manner and is replete with naturalistic scenes of violence. The situation is changing literally every minute. Also, there are guest stars - Forest Whitaker is great in the role of one of the antagonists of Mecca officer of the department of internal investigations.
The series looks easy and addicts. If you like tough cops, detective investigation, fire, lie - this series is created for you. There you can find many interesting things!
Yesterday at the Lido competition has been shown a new Ben Affleck film "The Town". Director told reporters about his movie, and then competitive program continued with a bloody "Thirteen murderers" Takashi Miike and bestseller "La solitudine dei numeri primi".
The picture of Ben Affleck "The Town" - the second directorial work of Hollywood actor. As in his first film, the action develops in Boston. According to statistics in his suburb of Charlestown is the maximum number of robberies of banks (over 300 per year) than in other U.S. cities.
"Previously, in Charlestown were located jails, so that relatives of criminals moved closer to them, settled in Boston, and when the inmates are in prison, they stayed with families in Boston - Ben explained at a press conference. - I made a movie about how a person gets stuck in an unpleasant place for him and wants to change his lifeâ€.
Somehow, this story echoes the lives of the Affleck, who started as an actor, and then moved to directing.
At the heart of a thriller - a book of Chuck Hogan's "Beyond Sherwood Forest". Published in 2004, it has won the prestigious Hammett Prize from the International Association of Authors. Therefore, the film got in sight of producer Graham King, who bought the film rights.
The main character is Doug McRae (Ben Affleck) is not like a typical burglar. Rather, his friend Jem (Jeremy Renner) likes a thug, but Doug is another. He never shot at people and generally happy to be tied, but the genes do not allow: his father (Chris Cooper) was a criminal and is serving a life sentence. During a robbery, Doug and his partners were taken hostage employee of the bank Claire (Rebecca Hall). It turns out that the girl lives in Charlestown - in the same area of Boston, where are based robbers. Jem psyches and tells Doug to deal with Claire. Instead, Doug starts a relationship with her, since Claire has no idea that this charming man - the same thug in a mask, holding it on the foreheads of a few days ago.
Over time, Doug decides finally to leave the predatory business and wants to leave the town with Claire. However, the Feds, led by agent Frawley (John Ham) step of the recent robberies, and Jamie begins to doubt in his friend. To engage with the criminal past is not so easy. Doug needs to make a choice: betray his friends, or lose the woman he loves.
At the fest, Affleck quite seriously answered questions. For his second film, he approached no less responsible.
"We had a lot of research. We went to the jail, talked with prisoners, met with FBI agents. And then began to build what we have learned, in the architecture of the plot".
By the way, Affleck changed the final: "I thought it would be better".
Producer grew up in Cambridge, not far from Charlestown and throughout his life believed that the reputation of Boston suburb is exaggerated.
"It turned out that everything is really so, so we are even more interested."
Affleck believes that the casting is one of the major successes of his project.
About Rebecca Hall he said: "She is very beautiful and yet she has some sort of earthiness".
Nominated for an Oscar for "The Hurt Locker" Jeremy Renner has received from the director's only one warning: "Jeremy, do not let us down". "Well, I tried!" - Renner replied curtly to the question "how did you work with Ben."
Star of TV series "Mad Man" John Ham tried to move away from his hero Don Drape director of advertising agency, working in the 60's.
"After the first season, I received 60 scripts a year, where the action comes at a time or hero worked advertisers, - Said Ham. - Nobody wants to be an actor of one role, even if this was a very good role".
"Reservoir Dogs" the first generally accepted picture of the remarkable director Quentin Tarantino. In this review, I will not say much about my attitude towards Mr. Tarantino, a part of my monologue is devoted to the description of my impressions from his movie "Reservoir Dogs".
Above, I accidentally said that "Reservoir Dogs" is the first recognized film by Quentin Tarantino. I made this conclusion after watching the press conference by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino at Comic Con 2006 on "Grindhouse", where one of the fans of these two directors asked a very interesting question:
"What should I do to be a Quentin Tarantino?"
And the answer was not long in coming: "You have to shoot Reservoir Dogs!" - Said Robert Rodriguez, after which the entire auditorium applauded and laughed at the same time. It was an amazing press conference!
Now about the movie. I will not say that the picture is unique in every sense. Its uniqueness is that attention to detail sharpened to the limit. All these gangster jokes, movement, manners and behavior. All is great. This is certainly merit actors. Every actor is incredibly charismatic. That only stands when they are listed the names of actors, and they all come in tuxedos, just feel the power. I think through this lured Tarantino and the female audience on his side. From this it follows that this movie is for everyone. But women must be prepared for black humor behalf of Rodriguez and Tarantino.
"Reservoir Dogs" as though it may sound strange, is a very standard film. Despite the fact that the scenery of the film is limited to one room. But this is not a bad indicator. With regards to the plot "Reservoir Dogs" has remembered me a wonderful picture of Martin Scorsese's action "The Departed". But "The Departed" just stands on the formation of the classics of the criminal genre and the picture of Quentin Tarantino's has gotten there long ago.
But recently on what is worth paying attention to the names of actors in the title roles.
Michael Madsen as always in the role of the scoundrel, a sadistic and mentally unbalanced person. It was all done masterfully. Tim Roth elegant fit into his image. Perhaps one of his best roles.
Harvey Keitel - King of the scene. Steve Buscemi in which once successfully coped with the role, successfully playing a gangster, always flaunting in front of all but the weakest of the entire company.
Summarizing, we can say that "Reservoir Dogs" is a classic of a criminal genre and one of the best works by maestro Tarantino. If you consider yourself a connoisseur of movies, then you must look this movie. Whether you liked the movie or not, you should watch it, because it is a classic...
TV series review...
Joel Booth - friend of the groom. He is very loyal to all, but he lacks the charisma inherent in the other. He suffers from "seasickness", over which sometimes make fun of his friends.
Katherine Wellington - wife of convenience, sexy, closer in age to his stepdaughter, than to her husband. Trish does not love her, but Shea is more favorable, because this woman makes their dad happy.

Shane Pearce is working on a boat with his best friend, Jimmy Manse, and he does not like that the return of Abby turned Jimmy in her little whipping boy. He hates John Dee. Shane has rather complex nature that makes him capable of much.
Shea Allen – Trish older sister. She has everything - a faithful husband, a beautiful daughter and all the money in the world. But all is not as it seems. Stress from constant decency in the family lured her into a trap.
