“Finding Nemo” sequel from Pixar
Continuation of the cartoon by Andrew Stanton's "Finding Nemo" will be called "Finding Dory”. His main character will be blue fish Dory with a bad memory. Her voice again be Ellen DeGeneres. The sequel will be released on November 25, 2015.
The original film was released in 2003, was worth 94 million and earned 921 million worldwide box office. Clownfish Marlin raises only son Nemo and tries to protect him from the dangers inherent in the ocean. But the curious Nemo goes in search of adventure, and homebody Marlin nothing left to do but look for his son. This helps him royal blue fish Dory, characterized cheerful character, but it has a very short memory.
Stanton made a film with Lee Ankrich. Subsequently Ankrich alone put a third of the franchise "Toy Story." After an unsuccessful attempt to shoot a feature film ("John Carter" flopped at the box office and caused serious financial losses of Disney), Andrew Stanton returns to the fold of animation.
"Finding Nemo" has received the "Oscar" for best cartoon and in the fourth place of highest-grossing animated projects.
To continue the story, Stanton had to obtain the consent of DeGeneres. "Without Ellen could not be Dory", - said the director. The actress agreed to voice her character in the last year, and we now know that the main character Dory will continue.
"I'm so glad that they finally will shoot cartoon - Ellen admitted. - I read the script - it is gorgeous! Funny, cute - well, just a what you would expect. "
According to Stanton, the action of the sequel will be developed on the coast of California about a year after the events shown in the original cartoon. Nemo and Marlin will return, but in the center of the plot will be searching of Dori by relatives.
Premiere of "Finding Dory" is scheduled for 25 November 2015.
Evolutionary cartoon (“The Croods”)
Now DreamWorks has its own "Ice Age"! However, without ice and mammoths, but with a family of colorful cavemen and beautiful flora and fauna. The story about this family has pleasantly surprised: it is dynamic, fun, energetic, cheerful, and so on in the same vein, in a word, is not boring.
Thanks to Chris Sanders the cartoon "Croods" is incredibly fun to watch. It is fascinating! So much so that the number of wild punches just stop paying attention. Authors were able to present all of this, so that even in adults there is no hint of irritation.
However, all children and adults will be busy contemplating the beautiful: "Croods" even by the standards of Hollywood titans is very colorful cartoon. Prehistoric jungle beasts with the absurd, forbidding rocks and parched deserts, majestic mountains, vast fields and at the snack heroes visit, we can say, the roof of the world. And most importantly - all the bright colors do not climb into the eyes from the screen, yelling excitedly about what they are colorful and almost fragrant. Beautiful just enough so that it is admire and create the desire to close tired eyes.
When the number of bright colors and shades on the screen starts to go off-scale, the characters get into a bit of gorges, caves or labyrinth. They, too, are fine, but they have a different charm, dark and cold. And so - throughout the film skips on a mad family of incredible locations, as if everything was not in ancient times on Earth, and not so long ago on a very, very distant planet. Which has a great future.
The authors do not forget about the humor! Some moments, mostly in one way or another, affect the militant and conservative (and creative) father of the family, are able to really laugh not only and not as many children as their adult companions. Not behind them and beasts, sometimes carnivorous, sometimes - not very much, but always original. Not to mention the hairy-clawed local satellite - a sort of a small and delicate, and most importantly - funny animal, another sign of a successful Hollywood cartoon.
Unbridled joy that seeks to please the greatest number of people. Celebration of life in the neolithic period, which all are invited. All in all, a wonderful way to spend time - even if you have no children to watch this cartoon.
Crowdfunding: a revolution in the movie?
Recently, we often witness the disastrous failures of movies. And it's not just about the film projects worth hundreds of millions, but even movies with modest budgets. May be it is time to stop cutting budgets of entire genres and attempts to save money, but to adopt some new business model that directly appeals to the viewer? For example, crowdfunding.
For those who are not familiar with the concept of "people's funding," briefly explain its essence. Imagine the kind of web site by logging on which absolutely anyone can leave a detailed description of the project and the exact amount required by a certain date. If the idea is supported by the others, they are using one of the popular payment systems to transfer money. Everyone decides by himself how much he is going to give. If by that date the final amount will be collected, the author of the project can get it and spend, followed up by the report. If the amount is not collected, the project is not well served support, and funds are returned to investors.
To say that cinematography is not familiar with this notion will be not true. For example, in 2012, in this way, David Fincher has collected the necessary funds to continue the work on the animated film "Bandit" who has not interested the major Hollywood film studios. Likewise, in March 2013 were collected money to finance the filming of the full-length version of the popular series "Veronica Mars." And if in case the project of Fincher it was about 400 thousand dollars, so here donations were in millions.
So. What if even the most ambitious movies will begin with crowdfunding? Say, well before the start of filming of the next big-budget film, the studio offers potential viewers to vote for it with their money. Of course, we are not talking about the formation of the entire production budget, which now can be up to two hundred million dollars, but only part of it. Say, one-tenth.
Thus, the basis for any decisions on large-scale investments will be based not on abstract ambitions of unnamed film company managers, who are concerned primarily about holes in the financial statements, and a very real audience's request, expressed in completely tangible form.
This scouting all the more important in a situation where the share of international box office is steadily increasing. According to the size of donations can be with the help of simple mathematical calculation to present the film and the estimated return to a particular region of the world.
Naturally, the donation should not be gratuitous. If now, in the era of "wild crowdfunding" investors receive only souvenirs with symbols of the project and other bonuses depending on the amount, in the future should be provided a clear bonus system.
Kevin Smith has started “Clerks III”
"The beginning of the end" - so is titled the post of Kevin Smith on Facebook, announcing the start of the scenario to the film "Clerks III." The final part of the trilogy will be the last work of the director, then Smith will exclusively produce and promote films.
That's what Kevin wrote on March 8, "Beginning of the end. 20 years ago we started shooting "Clerks." 20 years later, without any plans and intentions, I jumped out of bed at 04:20 am and began to write "Clerks 3." I felt like I’ve hung out with old friends. Later I came to the conclusion that "Clerks 3" will be my best film. "
As evidence, director posted a screenshot of the first page of the script.
Smith usually writes pretty much in social networks, but on Friday last week, his twitter account suspiciously silent. Apparently, the day turned out to be really productive.
"Clerks" became the debut work of Kevin Smith. The film premiered at the 1994 Festival "Sundance", after which Smith was with his debut at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film won the youth jury prize.
Budget of "Clerks" was 27,575 dollars, most of which Smith rescued in 1993 by the sale of a decent part of his collection of comics, as well as emptying the eight out of ten credit cards. The film earned more than $ 3 million in the box office, and eventually got a cult status.
To put an end to his directorial career, Kevin Smith decided back in 2011. Previously he thought that the last film will be comedy "Hit Somebody", but eventually the project will become a television series, and the director returns to the fate of the former sellers of New Jersey, Dante and Randal.
"Clerks 2", released in 2006, was worth 5 million, grossed 26.9 million and almost 12 million from the sale of home video. Whether Dante and Randal will return in the third film, here is what the representative of Jeff Anderson said: "To date, neither me nor to Jeff no one spoke on "Clerks 3. " We used to get information about the project as well as everybody else - through the Internet. "
Recall that in the final of "Clerks 2" Randal and Dante rediscovered store Quick Stop, back colored world of fast food in the usual black and white.
Meanwhile, Jay and Silent Bob are cartoon characters of “Jay & Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie”.

Emma Stone will shoot in Guillermo del Toro
As it became known in early December last year, the next project will be Guillermo del Toro horror "Crimson peak" of the haunted house. The very first "resident" will make it a very attractive dark place - Emma Stone talks with Legendary Pictures about her participation in the film.
Del Toro was going to shoot "Crimson peak" even before his nomination to the post of director of "The Hobbit."
The script for "Crimson peak" del Toro wrote along with the winner of the Cannes Film Festival, Matthew Robbins. Robbins received the prestigious award for the screenplay for Steven Spielberg's crime drama "Sugarland Express." Matthew continued his collaboration with the director in "Close Encounters of the Third Part."
Among other things, Matthew Robbins is director of the film "Batteries Not Included." With del Toro writer met while working on a project of producer "Do not be afraid of darkness." Robbins wrote the screenplay for director cartoon "Pinocchio," which will be released in 2014.
Guillermo del Toro and British screenwriter Lucinda Coxon polished the existing script. Filming is scheduled for February 2014. Before that Guillermo will work on "Pinocchio" and on the TV series of his trilogy "Strain."
The plot of "Crimson peak" is kept in secret.
Emma Stone will appear soon in the thriller "Hunters in the gangsters", and in February at the Berlin International Film Festival will be held the European premiere of the animated film "The Croods", where the actress voiced one of the roles.
Stone attributed to unnamed project of Cameron Crowe and the sequel "New Spider-Man."
Guillermo Del Toro about 3D in the “Pacific rim”
In a telephone interview to Collider director and producer Guillermo del Toro spoke about projects "Rise of the Guardians," "Kung Fu Panda 3", the sequel to "Puss in Boots," "Pacific rim" and plans for the future.
- Cartoon "Rise of the Guardians" got serious, however, there are many jokes. What's especially nice is the lack of black humor. How did creators manage to stay on the proper level?
"The reason that I was working on three animation projects by studio Dream Works - "Kung Fu Panda 2", "Puss in Boots" and “Rise of the Guardians" - was that they attracted me with its sincerity and romance. "Puss in Boots" has turned the Spaghetti Western, combined with the tale, of "Kung Fu Panda 2" has left a really strong martial arts film, accompanied by the psychopathic villain, and "Rise of the Guardians" is more reminiscent of a classic fairy tale out of time. I remember in the beginning we are committed to avoiding post-modernism, any display of pop art, but rather strive to create images that are similar to what we see in books, and used luxury and vibrant colors to create a feeling everything that happens on the screen has no time limits".
- Worldwide box office of "Puss in Boots" made $ 550 million. Is this enough for you to think about sequel?
"Yes, we've done a couple of sketches of the script (laughs). Cartoon turned cool, because in the process of production, we have done quite a risky thing. The main among them is that the "bad" guy Humpty expiate his guilt at the end, in the last minutes his life, he becomes a hero. He was able to change. I wanted to make a film that would show children that despite good or bad things we do, we can change. It was very difficult to implement this idea in a children's film, because it is unusual".
- Of course, you will not discover any secrets, but at least give us a hint of what will be a sequel?
"Hmm, we send the Cat in a completely different place, very exotic. When Chris Miller said: "I do not want to place the adventures of the Cat in the same universe, which starred all the Shrek movies, I'm determined to do spaghetti westerns", he therefore insisted on the adventure film. Generally, we will send the Cat in exotic country".
- What is your status as producer in the studio DreamWorks?
"Well, our relationship with DreamWorks began from the moment when I turned to ше and said that wanted to remove the animated film, and we started to develop the script for "Trollhunters" three years ago. Now we have the fifth sketch and I'm going to take its design, and will be ready when the final version of the script, and the designers have completed their part of job, I'm going to dedicate a half years of my life to animated film".
- Can you tell in few words, what is this project about?
"We are talking about a group of children who, for night hunting for trolls, and a day do math and writing tests, they have braces on teeth and they have to cope with the ever increasing pain. I like the idea of creating detailed portraits of children, full of nuances, indicating that they are not perfect. They seem to be not adapted to the environment, but they are real, real children, which are not always cool (laughs). "
- Issue of concern to all the fans of your works: when we will see the trailer for “Pacific rim"?
"About five months before release, that is, somewhere in the middle of December."
- Did you take part in the Digest for the trailer to "Pacific rim" and is engaged in the marketing department, and you just give or not give the "green light"?
"No, no, they bring me a cutting, I check it, give recommendations for sound design, and then we process all over again, and then I'm doing synchronization of color and sound. So anything that you saw in San Diego and New York, was to me very relevant. "
- Have you thought about the sequel of "Pacific rim" in case of successful release?
"Of course, we are discussing this possibility and even recorded with Travis Beacham couple of ideas, but at the same time I know I do not want to do a sequel. I want to make something completely different, in a different genre and not so big. So I still not sure what lies ahead, but I know that next year, in July, I will present "Pacific rim," and then, so help me God, have a soundtrack for "Pinocchio" and then a pilot series to the project "The Strain" on FX channel".
- How does the footage to "Pacific rim" look like in 3D?
"We have two forms of 3D content: the first concerns the CG-images, which are fully engaged in the creation studio ILM. John Knoll, the greatest mind in this case, is in charge and we would not have to create miniature models for these frames. Material looks superb. Remaining material we shot stereoscopic cameras, and it is also fantastic”.
Three actresses for Cinderella role
Less than a week ago the news reported that the studio Disney is calling Cate Blanchett play a cruel stepmother in the new version of the fairy tale "Cinderella." Now it became known the names of possible contenders for the title role. In the near future film director Mark Romanek will cast three actresses: Irish Saoirse Ronan, a British Gabriella Wilde and Swede Alicia Wikander.
The youngest of the candidates in Cinderella, 18-year-old Ronan, however, has the most impressive resume. She is known for participating in such films as "Atonement," "The Lovely Bones" and "Hannah. Perfect weapon ", and for the first of the pictures received nominations for" Oscar "and the" Golden Globe ". In March 2013th young star will appear in the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's "The Guest" staged by Andrew Niccol. In this scenario, Saoirse seems obvious favorite in the fight for the role of Cinderella, but she can not quite cope with her busy schedule of work, as next year will be busy on the set of "Grand Budapest" of Wes Anderson.
24-year-old Alicia Wikander publication Variety has named among the top ten actors. In this list, she was due to the participation in "Anna Karenina" and Joe Wright's "King's novel" Nicholas Arsela. The actress also starred in the big-"Seventh Son" by Sergei Bodrov, overlooking rolling in next October.
The portfolio of the 23-year-old Gabriella Wilde Constance image appear in the "Musketeers" Paul Anderson and the role in the remake of "Carrie" by Stephen King.
Disney stubbornly silent on what will be a modern interpretation of "Cinderella." Scenario of the project is preparing Aline Brosh McKenna ("The Devil Wears Prada», «27 Dresses"), after which the text took rewrite Chris Weitz, the director of "The Golden Compass." Simon Kinberg, producing tape, was involved in a restarted franchise "X-Men."
“Cinderella” cartoon transformation
Studio Disney continues to take old stories in a new way. The transformation is waiting for "Cinderella" - it was announced two years ago. Now to the project is attached director Mark Romanek, and the role of the wicked stepmother the studio asked Cate Blanchett.
Simon Kinberg is producing the tape, known in the film world by his association to the degeneration of the franchise, "X-Men" Bryan Singer. The script was originally written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who worked on the romantic hit "The Devil Wears Prada» and "27 Dresses." In February this year the work of rewriting took Chris Weitz, the director of "The Golden Compass."
Cinderella story filmmakers took a long time. One of the most famous version is the animated film studio Disney. "Cinderella," published in 1949, was worth at the time of huge money - $ 3 million. If the film flopped at the box office, at Disney could put a cross. Fortunately, only in the States charges exceeded $ 30 million.
What will be the new version of the famous fairy tale by Charles Perrault, the studio diligently silent. At the head of the project is music video of director Mark Romanek and visionary, famous for his intelligibility. Several years ago, the director left the set of the film "The Wolf Man", explaining his decision to lift the unwillingness picture with a huge budget.
In 2014 Disney will release the fairy tale "Malefisent" where Angelina Jolie plays the evil witch from "Sleeping Beauty."
Cate Blanchett this year will be possible to see again in the form of an elven queen Galadriel in "The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey", and in early 2013, the actress has started filming in the war drama of George Clooney's "People-sites." So if Blanchett agreed to play the evil stepmother in "Cinderella," her work on the film will begin at best in the middle of next year.
Actress this year took part in Woody Allen's new project, and appeared in two films by Terrence Malick.
