The results were divided into two groups - 3D and 2D. It was found that both groups remembered the movies about the same. The scientists also noticed that "a group of 3D" could not boast of some extra emotion then there was no promise of "immersion".
The researchers themselves were surprised by the results.
"Many of us believed that 3D - it's cool that it must somehow act" - Mark Carrier said.
Some companies have even argued that the 3D process improves learning and memory.
But Carrier and his colleagues came to a diametrically opposite conclusion. Could this research be another nail in the coffin recently appeared format 3D? Hardly.
