“World War Z” movie is gathering actors
Director of "Quantum of Solace" Marc Forster for three years has been trying to start a project adaptation of Max Brooks' "World War Z". Funding was found with difficulty, and the guarantor Brad Pitt has signed not only to produce the film, but also play a major role there. This week he was joined by Matthew Fox and Ed Harris.
Paramount tried to cut the film budget, which had grown to 125 million dollars, but for "World War Z" was important swing: Forster tried very hard to defend the right to shoot the big-budget picture about the war of humanity with zombie. Support came in March this year in the face of a young producer David Ellison. His company Skydance acquired a large investor, whose name was not disclosed.
Thus, the Paramount project appears able to stand on one of the premier slots of the summer 2012. After JJ Abrams led the sequel to "Star Trek" for the winter, the studios really need a hit.
Novel "World War Z" is written on behalf of the employee post-war UN commission, which interviewed survivors in a ruthless global war against the living dead.
Who, exactly, will play Matthew Fox and Ed Harris is not yet known. Star of the show "Lost" has just completed work in the theater, where he played in the play of the Nile LaByut and preparing to play the ruthless killer in thriller by Rob Cohen's "My name is Alex Cross."
Ed Harris has recently completed filming in the thriller "Man on the edge." This year, the actor will appear in the drama "Salvation Boulevard" and the comedy "That’s what I am".
Forster also attracted to the project of the French actress Julie Levy Beken, the star of Israeli TV series Ha-Alufa, where she plays an American spy, working for Mossad.
Chace Crawford appearance on the big screen
Star of the show "Gossip Girl" Chace Crawford continues to progress on the big screen. Actor is assigned to the adaptation of Nobel Prize laureate for novel of Nadine Godimer "The House Gun". Crawford father will play Pierce Brosnan.
The novel Godimer developed in South Africa. Harold and Claudia, great professionals in their field (she is headed an insurance company, he is - a doctor), comfortably settled in South Africa, arriving at a post-apartheid. Their life becomes a nightmare when her only son Duncan accused of killing a neighbor. The young man shot him from the usual "home gun", purchased for protection. However, Duncan does not deny his guilt, than introduces parents to a screeching halt. Boy defends a black lawyer who does not have much experience in court.
Pierce Brosnan will play the father of the hero Chace Crawford. The actor has always willingly acted in independent projects. In particular, this year at the Berlin Festival has shown a low-budget film "Salvation Boulevard" with Brosnan, and last year the former Bond appeared in the drama "Remember Me".
Chace Crawford has repeatedly tried to get out of the TV series in a great movie, but no thriller "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" or crime drama "Twelve" did not help the actor. Recently, Crawford was forced to abandon filming a remake of the melodrama "Free" because of the busy schedule filming in "Gossip Girl."
Director's chair of the project "The House Gun" is yet vacant.
Tom Cruise will play a blonde
Tom Cruise may perform the role of the seven foot blond Jack Richer, the hero of detectives from Lee Child. A former screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie is going to film "The Shot" - one of fifteen novels about the Richer, which was sold in 40 million copies.
"The Shot" - the ninth book in the series of Lee Child. Under this pseudonym hides a British author Jim Grant. Debut novel about Richer "The Killing Fields" was awarded two prestigious literary awards genre - Anthony Award and the Barry Award.
According to the plot in the heart of the city, near the new office building unseen sniper starts shooting people. Six shots - five of the victims. City is thrown into terror. However, a few hours later the police finds offender. And though all the evidence points to him, the suspected man denies everything. He said that police had arrested the wrong guy, and needs to find Jack Richer. But what could link a complete psychopath with a former military police?
Tom Cruise's company Cruise / Wagner Productions has acquired the film rights to "The Shot" five years ago. McQuarrie, who worked on the screenplay for "Valkyria" starring Cruise, took the adaptation of the Child novel last summer.
Tom Cruise is fundamentally different from the hero of novels by Lee Child. Jack Richer - according to the books, a healthy six-foot blond with blue eyes. So it is unlikely fans detective single will be delighted. But Cruz has a long history of interest in a series of Richer.
As reported by Deadline, the writer himself has nothing against Tom as an actor he has all the qualities of his hero. The fact that Cruise does not look like him in appearance, Child does not consider criminal. "Growth Richer in the books - a metaphor for his irresistible force - says the writer. - Cruise will be able to show it to his game". Recall that Cruz had once played irresistible blonde in Michael Mann's thriller "Collateral."
If Tom Cruise will decide to lead, then began to shoot the "The Shot" after the finish work in the fantasy thriller "Oblivion".
Madonna’s film has found distributors
Historical drama of Madonna's "WE. Believe in Love" has finally found distributors in the U.S. Second directorial opus of the singer has bought Harvey Weinstein for his company TWC. The film tells the story of the novel of King Edward VIII of Great Britain and the American Wallis Simpson.
Interestingly, in a press release issued by the TWC, the film debut of singer Madonna said in directing. Thus, the film "Filth and Wisdom" in 2008 did not seem to exist. However, the world premiere of the film took place at the Berlin Film Festival, and critics have taken the project rather cool.
The script for "WE" Madonna wrote in collaboration with Alec Keshishyan, director of the documentary "In Bed with Madonna". King plays his girlfriend, Andrea Riseborough, and the role of Edward VIII, who decided for the sake of his personal life to renounce the throne, went to James D'Arcy. Perhaps the main star of the project is Abby Cornish, who plays a modern New Yorker, obsessive love story of King and an American.
In the film will also star Oscar Isaac, Natalie Dormer, Richard Coyle and Laurence Fox.
"This is a film about the nature of true love, as well as the victims and the compromise that we often go for it, - said Madonna. - I have long wanted to tell this story, so the shooting began for me a wonderful adventure. "
Harvey Weinstein praised Madonna's directorial abilities and believes that the singer managed to take one of the most famous novels of the XX century and turn it into a smart, sexy and very modern film.

Brad Pitt about his home and family
In an interview with USA WEEKEND Brad Pitt spoke about the kids’ impact on his life.
"Children, like a mirror in which you look. Apologies are not accepted. You must be sure that they clean their teeth and have a good breakfast. And if they had a bad dream, you should be there."
Responsibility that Pitt, like any parent, takes for the safety of his family, forcing him to "wake up in the night."
"We are haunted. Our children are forced to live behind a fence. Outside, on them are waiting people with their cameras. But I'm willing to compromise. Before I didn’t know on what I was capable for the sake of love."
In his latest work - "The Tree of Life", directed by Terrence Malick - Pitt plays the father of three boys in the first 50 years in Texas. One of his sons (Sean Penn) has subsequently become an architect. Currently, this role is perfectly suited to Pitt.
"I want my children to be proud of what I did."
Despite earlier statements by Pitt and Jolie that they do not get married as long as sexual minorities will not be allowed to marry formally, Pitt said that since something has changed.
"Kids ask questions on marriage. It means to them more and more. This issue requires our rethinking."
Pitt regrets that, being able to surround his children a luxury he can’t allow them to enjoy the freedom, as he did it himself in his childhood.
"In the way we are as a mobile military unit. Each child is responsible for the things that are in his backpack. Mum packs them; she has a talent in this deal. In the backpack there are just necessary things, nothing more".
The family migrates between a house in Los Angeles, that Pitt calls "our main camp", shooting sites worldwide and an estate in southern France.
"We - the nomads, we go there, where the harvest."
Pitt admits that his family "a little extreme."
"But I love extreme. I have always behaved this way."
"We with Angie are doing everything possible to create a balance of "normalcy" in their lives, to think funs for them, which they will remember. We have, for example, "mud fight". This chaos lasted from morning till night, and sometimes even longer".
Adult children are at home schooling, but parents are trying to "bring them in people". Sometimes a family is slipping past the paparazzi to arrange a friendly soccer match with friends. Pitt and Jolie give time to themselves.
"In our house there are no secrets. We say: "Children, Mom and Dad go to kiss". They say: "Fii"! "But it is our right."
Pitt is near 50. An avid amateur photographer and architect, he is eager to explore deeper into these professions in the coming years. He also wants to improve his French and the ability to cook, which will not be limited to bacon, eggs and pancakes.
"Will I shoot when I'm 80? Definitely not. I hope that I will be chasing the motorcycle, at least until I can get out of bed."
“Hop” review
Write reviews for movies like "Hop" or "Alvin and the Chipmunks" - is not the most interesting deal, because, looking at one of them you can say with certainty that you had seen everything: a very naive and grotesque scenes, over and over again repeated stamps, virtually the same style of jokes and stuff like that. "Hop" differs from the aforementioned movies except the main character (after all this rabbit, but not squirrel or a chipmunk), but because the creators of this film come across the same mistake as their predecessors.
Unemployed guy Fred, after lengthy disputes with the family regarding his future, accidentally knocked in his car an Easter Bunny, who, besides, still knows how to talk. It later transpires that this rabbit is not eager to engage in his Easter duty, and dreams of becoming a drummer. Meanwhile, at the home of the rabbit is preparing a massive riot ... chickens.
I would not want to turn into a picky snob, critiquing cartoon, designed for children, but, alas, in a different way to assess its just not possible. All of us have become accustomed to the predictability and the beyond pathos in such projects, but usually, the creators somehow attempt to mask blatant secondary nature of their work. Here, all the forces and means of the film crew spent solely on the appearance of animated animals, quite forgetting in this case about anything like the original jokes and unusual situations.
In fact, the main and probably the only advantage of the "Hop" are a terrific study looks of computer animals: their facial expressions, animation movements look simply gorgeous. Chickens are so completely nice characters in the movie, because as already one of their appearance on the screen comes alive and for a short time it becomes funny.
At this point, the problem is probably still in the absence of distinct characters, rather than in themselves actors. The star TV series "The Big Bang Theory", Kaley Cuoco was totally out of place, not by applying one-tenth of her acting charisma. James Marsden tried to be even slightly funny, but all attempts went in vain. Still, there would be much better come full transition to animation in the style of "Rio".
All the above listed is, of course, the opinion of the viewer experienced, appreciating in the movies, especially any kind of flavor that distinguishes it from others. So, if you really did not expect from this film and you have kids, then perhaps it can be seen.

Interview with Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning, who played a major role in the sci-fi shooter of Jay Jay Abrams, "Super 8" in an interview with LA Times described her heroine and new projects.
- One of the strengths of "Super 8" is that the relationship between the guys looks very natural, they do not like those clumsy, far-fetched older scenes, which can be seen in some movies.
When the train crashes, and the city of horrible things start happening, all these events we see through the eyes of children. This approach is rarely seen in movies, usually we set out the adult point of view on history. My character is the hardest character in comparison with other guys. Despite the fact that she was the only girl in this company she has positioned herself as a leader. The fact that Alice had to grow up pretty early because of problems in the family. She has no mother, the father drinks a lot. When the boys offer her a star in an amateur horror movie about zombies, she agrees, because it is less chance of seeing his father and to spend summer vacation away from home. Their old house is in a poor part of town, and she was very sad to live there with her father. When I was shot in Super 8, I was 12 years old, and all the boys were older than me. But Ellis certainly behaves as if she is their mother. She is the strongest of the guys, and probably the loneliest.
- In the movie action happens in the summer of 1979, long before you were born. Have you tried to learn that time, "vintage" fashion of those years?
We all watched "The Goonies" and "E.T: Extra-Terrestrial" and some other classics. Personally, I've seen those films many times. They can be revised endlessly. It is time to remove the new one, incidentally, such films was not very long ago. I hope that the "Super 8" can be safely added to the list.
- In the film, you had to ride on an outdated model of a car with manual transmission. How do you like it?
It would be illegal to put me behind the wheel, so in those scenes I had an understudy. She drove the car. She sat down, so she was not visible, and push the pedals with her hands. She looked at the monitor, the image is sent from the camera attached to the hood, and when I had to turn she spun the wheel in the desired direction. My understudy is a grown-up girl, older than me. She was very nice. She was not the first time had to do a similar trick. In my opinion in a "Star Trek" she in the same way has helped the boy to drive a car. Jay Jay has an extensive experience in the shooting of children at the wheel.
- Success in Hollywood is not news in your family, but it should be, you are pleased that this time you have direct relevance to it?
All my life my sister was shot, and I was watching, traveling with her, and so it is very funny now that I'm doing something similar. She is looking forward to the movie, and she did not read the script. For her, everything is a surprise, and she is very proud of me.
- How is it to see Steven Spielberg on the set?
He knew my sister because she starred in "War of the Worlds" and I spun around a movie set and had seen him. Steven is in a very good relationship with Dakota. Should you meet with him again, it seems that you are familiar with him for one hundred years, and this feeling does not go away. Whenever he came to the site, all just forgets about everything and came to the excitement. He came once when we were shooting a scene in the cave. I hung there upside down. "Is this Steven?" - "Yes, this is Steven." Since my sister is friends with Steven, she was terribly pleased and proud that I'm involved in his project.
Remake of “Werewolf” of 40-ies
Movie with Benicio Del Toro, which was released last year, could acquire a sequel, but eventually the current scenario will turn into a painting titled "Werewolf", which will be actually a restart of another "Wolf Man" of forties.
Classic horror movie with one of the monsters of "Universal" on the idea was to form the basis of the picture, Joe Johnston, but the result, the authors strongly deviated from the original. Was it cause of the low box office - is unknown. Tape with Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins has collected in the U.S. hire only 61.9 million dollars, while its total cash in the world amounted to 142.2 million.
Remake of Universal classic gothic long way toward the viewer. Director Mark Romanek, at some stage left the area, citing the fact that he is not calculated the force, and such big-budget project does not raise. As a result, the film was shooting by Joe Johnston, the budget has grown to 150 million, and the date of release was constantly postponed.
The studio hadn’t franchise, at least to continue the failed at the box office movie at the rare case when it became a hit on video. But about the existence of the sequel script Universal has taken care in advance. They hired Michael Tabby, one of the authors of horror film "Ring around the Rosie". Now his work will be rewritten in the spirit of the original film with Lon Chaney.
Larry Talbot, the hero of the horror film "Wolf Man" in 1941, returned to the family estate and became a victim of creature, which can’t exist in reality. Turning into a wolf Larry can’t control himself and that the worst will never be able to be with his girlfriend.
The shooting of "Werewolf" is planned for this fall. In the near future they will find the director and performers of the main roles.
Robert Zemeckis wants to shoot Denzel Washington
Speaking about Robert Zemeckis, it is necessary to specify what kind of project is going to remove the director. Inspired by the motion capture technology, the director for 10 years has worked on feature films. Having suffered a series of setbacks, Zemeckis is trying to return to the game film and goes through different projects. Now he was fascinated by the drama "Flight", to which is attributed Denzel Washington.
The screenplay is written by John Geytins, author of sports dramas "Hardbol" and "Coach Carter", and also leaving this year's film "Live steel". The project originally was conceived by DreamWorks, but after the studio of Spielberg separated from Paramount, "Flight" went to the last. For some time it was thought that Geytins himself will shoot a film, but now Robert Zemeckis is interested in his script.
The protagonist of "Flight" - the pilot, trying to escape from the abyss of alcoholism and drug addiction. His abilities are subjected to a severe test when the plane where the pilot is flying as a passenger, suddenly breaks down. The hero can’t solve the technical problem and to save everyone, but when the investigation begins the incident to the surface float bad habits of the pilot, and authorities were trying to somehow hide this fact to help the hero to overcome addiction.
In March of this year, the Disney studio refused to work with Zemeckis on the remake of "Yellow Submarine". Most likely, the decision was due to a failure to hire multi-million animated project "The Mystery of the Red Planet," where was listed producer. However, the studio has denied this version.
A month later, Zemeckis took up producing the film on a book with the funny name "How to survive the attack of garden gnomes: Protect yourself". In May, the director interested in the project "Replay", which had previously interested in Ben Affleck as his third directorial work. But it seems that "Flight" will mark a return to the bosom of Robert Zemeckis feature film.
Denzel Washington recently finished filming in the thriller "Safe house" with Ryan Reynolds. The film will be released in February 2012.
