Jessica Alba in an interview about “Little Fockers”
In the comedy "Little Fockers" Faker Greg (Ben Stiller) is not so much occupied with the conviction of his father in low (Robert De Niro) in that he is a worthy son, how many tries to keep at a distance of hyperactive and incredibly sexy pharmaceutical company representative Andy Garcia (Jessica Alba). In an interview with ComingSoon resource actress talked about her first experience in the genre of comedy.
- Your heroine is incredibly resilient and well lit with happiness. Did you want to play a similar role or it was a burden to represent such an endless drive?
"Yes, for this I’ve taken meth, amphetamines and cocaine (laughs). I'm kidding. No, I'm not kidding. Yes, just kidding. You see, in whatever mood I'm not coming, Andy is always enthusiastic and full of energy, and it's great. Every day, I turned to joy and fun. I was like a buffoon, so all the time I’ve made people to laugh."
- Did you take Spanish dance lessons?
"Yes, but unfortunately, unsuccessful. The level of my dancing skills is like a year-old child. And my daughter turns out, she is now two and a half years old. "
- You are in a good form ...
"I could not lose more than year after the birth of my daughter. Then we started shooting "Fockers", and in order to avoid stress I’ve lost 9 kg, which was not easy to do. Most of the weight left in the first three months due to training and diet. And then I just was involved in the work."
- Being Latino, would you like to create a more positive image of Latinos by your roles?
"I try to find funny roles, no matter if they are positive or negative. It's good luck if you come across such a role. By the end of the day professional satisfaction of the done work is only relevant. The film genre here doesn’t play a big role, whether it's "The Killer Inside Me" with Michael Winterbottom or "Little Fockers" with Paul Vaice. Both these roles made me grow as an actress. "
- As a married woman, how can you interpret the behavior of Ben Stiller hero in relation to you? How do you think, did he cross the line?
"No way. I do not think that my heroine plotting some dirty trick. That's what makes it so cool, she just having fun here and now and wants all at once. She loves her job. She does not choose expressions, and has no barriers. She is a source of constant joy. It was great to play such emancipated girl, because I often go too far with self-control in everyday life."
- How did you feel on the set, came in an already formed team, who has long been working?
"Of course, it was scary to approach them - to the idols of my heroes. Incredible franchise and they have known each other really for hundred years. I was so afraid that I could do nothing, then to relax and have fun. And I did it. What could I lose? Have I been fired? I hope not (laughs)".
- Did you use a backup for when committing a spectacular jump in the pool?
"No, I’ve made it myself! I’ve remembered the days of "Dark Angel".
- How do you think, what roles are more difficult: dramatic or comedic?
"When you're filming in the drama, you are vulnerable with no doubt, because you did not know what will happen the next moment, when you are truly defenseless. In fact, the same thing happens in comedies. For me, to play in a comedy is harder, but when it turns out, it is super."
“Movie – is the main form of art of our time” – Banksy
"Exit Through the Gift Shop" has become one of the most interesting documentaries of 2010. Its director, master of street art and Man of Mystery of international scale Banksy is upset that the audience questioned the authenticity of what is happening.
The protagonist of "Exit" - a French businessman Thierry Guetta, who lives in Los Angeles - permanently, is shooting the street artists at work. Over time he became acquainted with Banksy, but then decides to try his hand at street art personally. Thierry takes the alias Mr. Breynuosh and captures the art world arrogance, despite the lack of talent.
Spectators coming from the session, asked the question: Is it true all this? Is there a Mr. Breynuosh in fact, or whether it is a hoax like Banksy himself, whose face is never seen again?
In his last interview that Banksy has given via e-mail, the director stated the following:
"Obviously, that the story is unusual, well, so I therefore took up for it! But I'm still shocked by the level of skepticism. Apparently, we must come to terms with the fact that people consider me a liar. But I'm not smart enough to invent Mr. Breynuosh. His existence is confirmed by a minimum - searching on the Internet.
Banksy does not usually bother the question, how large the percentage of confidence in his person or his work, but in relation to "Exit Through the Gift Shop" is set firmly: "The strength of the movie is that everything in it is happening - one hundred percent true."
"In addition, if "Exit" had the script, then I would certainly chose better replica for myself" - adds Banksy. The artist is a big fan of documentary films. "I represent the generation in which the phrase “documentary” is no longer a dirty word. It's no longer the endless flocks of penguins under the plans classical music. In my opinion, Michael Moore and Morgan Spurlock - Natural punks. And their main punk prank - showing their films in multiplexes."
"My hobby in life is like in a movie. My pictures are nothing like the frozen version of the movie, scrolling through my head. I think the movies - is the main form of art of our time. If Michelangelo or Leonardo Da Vinci were alive today they would not have painted the church, and took off "Avatar". Cinema - an incredibly democratic and accessible art, and probably is the best way to attempt to change the world, not just its embellishments.
Terry Gilliam and retro-fiction “1884″
Like Christopher Nolan has taken the patronage over the new "Superman", Terry Gilliam will be the curator of the project "1884" - steampunk that combines puppets and computer animation. The film director is Tim Ollive, working with Gilliam ever since the "Life of Brian."
Ollive has been doing special effects and animation in the Terry’s movie. Their latest collaboration to date is "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus." New project stands apart from other works of duo. First, they will withdraw the actors act out their roles, and then their eyes and mouths will transfer to the computer-generated head. Decorations will be collages of miniatures, films, paintings and old photographs.
"1884" would cost producers of only 8 million dollars. The project is in development for a year but in the network we can see the test material.
Despite the fact that the action develops in 1884, the film supposedly shot in 1848, "for forty years before the birth of cinema." The main character named Horace Kitchengeim just flew to the moon, secured it for the British Empire and is now preparing for his most dangerous journey in life - to Europe.
Terry Gilliam likes test trailer "1884" very much. "It does not look like a sleek studio work in Los Angeles. Immediately evident that the master worked, and much, how amazing the movie scale and design."
Tim Ollive has written the script in collaboration with other Gilliam partner Dennis De Groot. The test was shot in the bathroom of the future filmmaker. "Well, finally, the bathroom will get its normal destiny", - says Gilliam.
Terry himself has stuck to the stage of searching for funding for "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote," and recently shot a short film "The Legend of Hallowdega".
What is the budget of new Spiderman?
For two weeks, Mark Webb is been shooting the new version of Spiderman adventures on the basis of the most famous comic book.
Last Monday during the regular run of the musical "Spider-Man: Turn the darkness" has suffered another actor. He became the fourth victim of a Julie Taymor production, which should start on Broadway for 7 February. Actors are seriously concerned about the high traumatic play, but the authors still going to continue to work on the project.
Meanwhile, filming of Spiderman has begun reboot, on which is working director of "500 Days of Summer" Mark Webb. At the network has already leaked the first photos from the set, which have captured blonde Emma Stone. The other day the actress confessed to Jay Leno in his program that she had contracted a "few more" Spider-Men".
At this point, purists of the comic book should be filled with righteous anger. Stone plays Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker's first love, which is on the story dies. But, apparently, the studio decided otherwise.
Shooting period of "Spiderman" will last 90 days. At this time, being shot in Los Angeles, something unspeakably happy Hollywood: in recent years to work in major American cities were incredibly expensive, so the studio was transferred shooting away, mostly in Canada. Seven pavilions at Sony are busy by Webb movie and more than 1000 people got jobs.
As reported by "LA Times", a project budget is less than half the budgets of the previous films about a superhero, which cost more than $ 250 million. Thus, if we use simple mathematical operations, budget of new "Spiderman" will be about 125 million. Even if 120, it is still a lot more than originally planned. Launching franchise reboot, the studio promised that the budget for each film will be between $80 million.
The game is over – “Saw 3D”
"Saw" - one of the most popular horror franchises of our time, and certainly the most successful in terms of total charges for all episodes. Fans of detective stories have watched these movies for the sake of surprise endings under the traditional melody of Charlie Clauser and fans of bloody massacre - for spectacular traps and subsequent executions of people caught in these same traps. But as it is often happened with horrors, they are just started churning, moving further and further away from the quality of the first episodes.
The plot of the seventh "Saw" refers to the origins of the franchise, and returns to the screen (albeit in the background) of one of the main characters of the first part - Dr. Gordon, who has yet to play a role in the multistage plan of deceased designer.
Meanwhile, detective Mark Hoffman is trying to hide the remaining evidence of his villainous activities in parallel punishing racists, rock beauties and wicked writers.
One of the main chips of franchise have been constant flashbacks, opening new and new details of Saw life taking place behind the scenes of the previous parts and unites all the pieces into a coherent picture. Screenwriters, as they could, have been inventing new and new causes of Tobin Bell appearances on the screen (the irreplaceable role of the artist designer) but for the finale of the movie I had impression that they themselves have become entangled in their own plot twists and turns. Frankly controversial plot twists in the finale instead of the shocking effect give you a feeling of bewilderment rather than a surprise.
Guys haven’t already known what else to say in so jaded plot and therefore attentive viewer will notice a lot of inconsistencies and logical holes in local history.
But of course, for those who crave the bloody spectacle, and to whom all these detective tricks are not interesting, with no doubt will delight this tape. New traps of Hoffman are no less bloody than the previous ones, and some (the scene of punishment of racists) and affected the originality and implementation. Thanks to the stereoscopic effect, now guts throw out at you right from the screen, which really gives a new sensation. So, your inner Jack Ripper will be pleased.
However, from a technical point of view – everything is good.
The conclusion from the above is the following: the franchise came to a standstill. Of course, dedicated fans will deny this and claim to continue the banquet, but even the falling box office suggests that the lack of development of the franchise only leads to its degradation.
Let the "Saw 7" still quite be watched and not without a certain pleasure. But the level that was before, this movie unlikely will reach.

Magical Board is looking for a master
"Untitled Ouija Project", which is based on the game with a magical board, allegedly capable of causing dead spirits, has just two candidates for director's chair. Director of "The Crazies" Breck Eisner became interested in the movie a week ago, and last Friday his vision of the film has presented director of the fourth "Terminator" McGee.
Recall that in February 2008, Hasbro entered into a contract with Universal, according to which the studio for six years should film at least four film's most famous series of toys.
Peter Berg has already filmed "Battleship", Taylor Lautner will play a major role in the project "Stretch Armstrong" and "Monopoly" can be filmed by Ridley Scott.
Ouija - a plaque with the painted on her letters and numbers. It is attached to the arrow on the player puts his hands. If you can make contact with the other world, the needle begins to point to the letters, folding into words.
The project is being produced by Michael Bay company Platinum Dunes. The script is written by the authors of the movie "Tron: Legacy" Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The plot of the movie about a magical board was not disclosed, but apparently it will be an adventure family film in the style of "The Mummy" and "Indiana Jones".
The search of director has become a headache for the studio. Director of "The Crazies" Sylvain White was unable to meet the demands of Universal. Pierre Morel, who shot "Taken", presented his own version - and also flew. Also the studio did not like the version of Scott Stewart ("Legion") and John Moore ("Max Payne").
Last week to the list of candidates was added Breck Eisner, but he has a serious competitor. McGee finished shooting a spy melodrama "This means war", and last Friday told the studio, he sees a movie about a magical board.
Whose version has liked more Universal, we will known soon. Release of the movie is already scheduled for November 9, 2012.
Prison for Iranian director Jafar Panahi
The world of cinema has repeatedly stood up to defend the director Jafar Panahi, who was arrested in Iran. Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Juliette Binoche and Francis Ford Coppola have expressed their support for Iranian counterpart. But yesterday, the director was sentenced to six years in prison. In addition, the court rebuked Iran Panahi making movies for two decades.
For his debut film "Badkonake sefid" ("White Ball") in 1995, Jafar Panahi was awarded the Golden Camera at the Cannes Film Festival. Golden Lion of Venice Film Festival has been awarded to Iranian director for the movie "Circle" about four women who are fighting against discrimination based on sex. Grand Prix of the Jury at Berlin festival Panahi has gotten for melodrama "Offside" where by the plot Iranian girls burst on the Iran-Bahrain game to cheer on the national team.
Panahi is actively supporting the opposition "Green Movement" and in July 2009 was arrested by the authorities for propaganda against the existing regime in the country. The director joined the march of mourners for the victims of Protestants who disagreed with the election results. Jafar was left to go but on his own recognizance.
In February 2010, the director was arrested again and together with his family and colleagues has been sent to prison of Tehran, where he went on hunger strike. During the Cannes Film Festival, Jafar Panahi was left to go, but now he should back in prison again.
Yesterday, an Iranian court sentenced Panahi to six years in prison. Also he is forbidden for the next twenty years to shoot and produce films and write scripts to travel abroad and give interviews to any media - foreign or local.
In a recent interview director said: "When a filmmaker does not remove the film, this is equivalent to being in prison."
Film critics say that the ban on setting Panahi film - a real disaster for the Iranian cinema.
Dangerous “Unstoppable”
So, we have another (the fifth) joint work of director Tony Scott and actor Denzel Washington. As in the previous their project (rather mediocre thriller "The Taking of Pelham 123"), Tony returns to the trains, though this time without the terrorists and shooting, making the largest bias at the side of the disasters films genre, rather than pure thriller. However, the main difference between these two projects, primarily in the fact that “Unstoppable” turned out far more balanced and smooth film than its predecessor.
The plot of the movie is based on real events that took place in Ohio in 2001. Two employees of the railway station, a veteran engineer Frank and a young guard Will have to join the operation to stop kilometer carry, which has in its tanks hazardous chemicals and the accident will certain lead to the death of the whole city.
By itself, the story is very simple and does not contain any shocking surprises or unexpected twists. Moreover, it has a very significant amount of beaten along and across stamps and clichés inherent in the films of this genre: the main characters always have problems with family, whether a bad relationship with the daughter or a young father, which the court does not admit to his own child. And so greedy bureaucrats throughout the film will only hinder, rather than correct the situation.
In general, the movie is rather good. Maybe the matter is in it's sincerity, cordiality, if you want. Americans have always been able to show reliably and touching friendship of two seemingly completely different characters: Frank, being an experienced mechanic, not a particularly-and respect of his team-mate Will the newcomer, but a common goal unites these two seemingly quite opposite characters. So to follow these metamorphoses of characters is quite interesting.
But of course, it is not the only dignity of the film. Firm direction by Tony Scott with his mad editing and constant play with light filters are also present, albeit with some modifications. Abandoning permanent flares and piling frame, Scott demonstrates the highly specific, but very suitable tape camera work.
No less enthusiasm causes and sound component of the film. Exciting musical compositions by Harry Gregson-Williams added even more suspense to an already spectacular episodes delivered crashes or chases.
And although the general impression about the film is rather positive than negative, there are also some puzzling moments. But they all are the matter of taste!
"Unstoppable" - good, strong film-catastrophe, watching which, you can have fun and spend time. But the main problem of the film is that it is not pretentious and is suitable only for a single viewing. You can enjoy local suspense music or acting, but the result will still be the same: after a while this movie will just weathered from your head, because nothing new or memorable it can offer.
Steven Soderbergh: rumors of leaving
According to Matt Damon, director Steven Soderbergh is going to leave the cinema. So the film version of TV series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." could be the last film of director.
Damon is currently shooting in the thriller "Contagion" by Steven Soderbergh, and confirmed that plans of director to go away from the movie have not gone away. Director of "Traffic" in the fall 2009 said that is not going to shoot after fifty, so that in the next 4 years he will find another occupation. It seems that Steven Soderbergh is set firmly.
"He has been talking about it for several years, so it is already close to implementation, - tells Matt Damon in an interview with "LA Times". - He wants to draw and believes that he is still young enough to make a new career. Everything that could offer him a movie, he was tried and a few tired of it. He is no longer interesting in telling the stories. He says: "If I see another plan, shoot over another's shoulder, I’ll knock out my brains."
All the same garrulous Matt confirmed that in summer Soderbergh will shoot "Liberace" with Michael Douglas.
"Then he will have another movie with George Clooney, and then he would resign."
"The movie with George Clooney" - nothing like filming the series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", for which Soderbergh agreed to take in mid-November this year. Shooting will begin or end of 2011 or early 2012.
Damon is not happy with the idea of Steven Soderbergh.
"After I had starred in Clint Eastwood's, I came to Steve and said:"Listen, Clint lifts and drags from it, in spite of his age and he is already 80!" He replied:"Yes, but Clint is a storyteller, and I’m not. For an actor or a writer, well or for any person working in the film, Steven leaving is a big loss. I can spend 40 years on to become a great director, but I never achieved what he can. And he gets and leaves. "
Soderbergh is being always very critical to his own works. In particular, he once said that duologue about Che Guevara was a "mistake on the first day of shooting."
