Its time to go away from Shuttle Island
Martin Scorsese, who directed is not the first movie with Leo, this time tried to make him a real man. Something knowledgeable about the movie most likely will be disappointed, because the atmosphere in the film, though there is absolutely not what it may seem after watching the trailer. Otherwise, everything is made on a solid four-plus.
The play of DiCaprio is terrific. He's a real actor, which there are a little now. He shows these emotions, feelings, pain, despair, love, confusion, madness, fear. And many others. It is thanks to him the film looks at one breath, do not want to be distracted, and in order not get lost completely. The film consists of many strands, which are collected together in one product. One missed episode - and, alas, the integrity of the film has already been lost.
I'm terribly grateful to the filmmakers for the lack of aural terror in the film. It only took all of these horror-makers who believe that the main effects making people to be afraid, is the effect of firecracker "Thunder and Lightning". So you may not worry about ears! The dynamic range of the audio track is such that where necessary, chill on the back runs, but when there is just what everyone should wind up, the volume in the columns of the ears is not rape. For what I want to thanks creators once again. The film in generally has very good soundtrack. It is massive and powerful. Though slightly old-fashioned.
The thriller plot is interesting. Besides, in the film conveys the atmosphere of being on the island very well. I almost sensed the anguish and despair that must have enveloped the main character in the first evening.
But when the film holds you in suspense for more than two hours, so yes, you're afraid that is about another second and you'll lose your mind, along with the characters in the film - is probably the top of the arts.
In addition, the entire atmosphere of the film - a dark, heavy, oppressive - this madness of nature - storms raging on the island and the island itself, a rocky, lifeless, with a hospital outside the wire under tension with 66 insane murderers and maniacs, is, to say the least, if not fear, the endless worry.
"Shatter Island" enters into despair. And the madness, which does not seem to stop for a moment, only intensifies the effect. Madness permeated everything. And then we can say that Leonadro DiCaprio played his role perfectly. We believe him and it is admirable!
The film was tolerable. During the whole movie Leo has spied. Schizophrenia is plentiful and the atmosphere presses. Watch standing, but do not expect to see a masterpiece. Very nice in all respects pop.

New Papstin could risk
What is the legend? How does it born? In world history there are not enough examples of becoming a legend. After all, no one ever brought forth a legendary figure at once. In order to leave a trace in a history, you should be really significant and a legendary figure. The movie "Die Papstin" talks about a wonderful person, a woman who was not afraid of modern customs and manners, a woman who was able to leave her mark in a history, which could make a way through the thorns to the stars.
In general, there are several interpretations of this legend. The best-known and formed the basis for the film. Its founder is Martin Polak, who made "The Chronicles of popes and emperors." That's where he and mention this embarrassing for the Catholic Church incident. Legend subsequently overgrown with a mass of rumors. But no smoke without fire ever happens. In the XIII century believed in it and the authenticity of this legend is not disputed, but in the XV century, was considered merely a fiction. It was this or not - now it is a mystery, which is hardly ever open to mankind. Therefore, to judge the historical accuracy is difficult. It should also be noted that the legend was born in the period pornocracy. At a time when more than 60 years (other sources say 30 years) on the papal throne was a Theophylact family. Namely, his wife Theodore and daughter Marozia, which had popes' lovers of that period. And it is precisely this period under the reign of Joan.
But if we move away from history and look at the film as just the story of a strong woman, we'll see a good movie. The film is European. And it is felt. There is no scope and grandeur inherent in historical portrayals of Hollywood. The Vatican presented in terms of scenery is not advantageous, nice, but not luxurious, no grandeur, no sense that this is the legendary Vatican. While shooting of nature is beyond praise. The beauty and pristine of forests and fields just fascinates. This is a natural beauty will give a hundred points ahead of the beauty of Rome, made of stone by human hands.
In the center of the plot is the fate of Joan. Tragic and difficult. The girl from childhood showed the desire for knowledge, was gifted, but her path met all kinds of obstacles. And the first of them - was her own father. Talking about the plot makes no sense, since its pretty standard. Despite all the explicit and obvious advantages for me this film did not rise in one line with many historical pictures. The image of Joan is too one-sided; she does not receive any changes and improvement. Joan Vokalek played rather ordinary. The history, especially of the Middle Ages, is full of passion and emotion, brilliant, aggressive. In Joan, I did not see that fire, did not see a spark that could make her meaningful. She lived, worked, did some good things, helping people, but she herself was nothing, just uninteresting. There was a dampness in her manner, defect. This woman must have been strong and wonderful, bright, strong-willed character, but it lacks the spark of life and passion.
For me this drama is too afloat and slow. If you compare it with a musical instrument, so it plays smoothly, slowly. It does not take the high and low chords, it always sounds in only one style. And it is tiresome. There is dynamism in the film, once again, the passion that simply boils world history. Even the fights look a bit theatrical and monotonous and does not cause a storm of emotions that we must root for the character and experience for him. Well, love line seemed totally unnecessary. It's simple and not complicated.
Phenomenology madness in “The Killer inside Me”
"Nobody did not understand the very essence of the story, which is already entered into you on the knife edge, even without touching the edges" - Jim Thompson. "The Killer Inside Me". - Dallas, 1952.
"The killer inside me" became a legend noir long before the scandalous premiere at Sundance and Berlinare in February 2010, causing in the minds of critics a bombshell. Back in 1960 the film rights to the best novel by Jim Thompson has bought 20-th Century Fox studio.
Jim Thompson has written the screenplay for the film, the main roles of which were approved by Marilyn Monroe and Marlon Brando. Shooting of "The killer inside me" was planning to begin in September 1962, but the tragic death of Marilyn destroyed those plans. If the studio has shot that movie, it would be one of the most significant events in the history of world cinematography.
Then, Kubrick has been trying to film the book several times. In 1976 came the first low-budget screen version of "The killer inside me" did not evoke any interest in neither the audience nor the critics. At the turn of the century the idea of this remake of the movie interested Tarantino, who is Thompson's books inspired by the legendary off "mad dogs" and "Pulp Fiction". But only Briton Michael Winterbottom, after half a century has understand its true essence and vigorously move it to the screen.
"Why do they always come to me only in order that I kill them? Why cannot they kill themselves?" - Jim Thompson. "The Killer Inside Me". - Dallas, 1952.
Winterbottom actually created one of the most deserving films in the genre of noir, because, as previously done with Scorsese adaptation of "Stutter Island" - he did not invent anything, and made a movie like the book, reproducing all the conversations of the characters directly from the text. Even the tragic final scene has been carefully and literally saved them, as in the novel.
Leisurely development of the film plot is on behalf of its hero - Lou Ford, brilliantly played by Casey Affleck. While working Lou is shy and executive manager of sheriff in a small provincial town in central Texas. In his free time, he is aesthetic and intellectual, listening to classical opera, and read original classic psychoanalysis in German.
Externally Lou Ford is neat, polite, charming and modest, so is recognized among the "elite" of Texas backwater. And none of them do not even realize that inwardly, he has been long dead. Dead from the moment when serious psychological injuries in childhood have killed in him all human, depriving the future life of any sense. That is why the whole film Lou Ford is speaking with a low, monotonous and a bit tearful and utterly lifeless voice, constituting a stunning contrast to the cruelty and inhumanity of his actions.
In this respect he is unlike any one of the known movie killers. Lou Ford - is not a Patrick Bateman or Hannibal Lector. He did not like them, because most consistent with the image of real, not fictional killer and psychopath, inside of which sits Hidden cruel sadist, eager for the case to escape.
"Dead" hero begins his "bloody odyssey" in the "dead", stuffy and soulless world of provincial Texas stagnation. Devoid of any vitality and bright colors of the world of old songs of 50's, sounding from the car radio, dusty Texas roads, gray streets and suppressed emotions.
However, for Lou this "odyssey" is no more than a game. Playing with two women, playing with friends, whom he ruthlessly framed, playing with the sheriff and prosecutor, a game of revenge for brother's death...
Only a cruel game, serving for Lou synthetic substitute, replacing a lost sense of life. And to a certain point this game was ideal because he was absolutely not interested in its consequences. In his heart he did not care - whether he will eventually arrested and adjudged to die.
Some journalists left the press screening of the film on Berlinare-2010 because it seemed too rigid for them and promoting sado-masochistic deviation linking Lou with his women: a prostitute Joyce and his fiance, a pretty schoolteacher Amy (Kate Hudson). During the premiere show "The killer inside me" at Sundance some U.S. critics furiously ran out of the room, shouting: "Who let this to the festival?", "How can be shot such shit?" And it said the same people who had just happily watching "The Runaways", full with scenes of drugs and sexual orgies of teenage girls.
But in fact the violence in "The killer inside me" is not greater than in the book and in most films category "R". Of course, Winterbottom was able to show a scene of brutal beating by Lou Ford Joyce more than realistic, with all detail, turning pretty face of Alba in a bloody mess in few seconds. No less cruel and naturalistic look, and the subsequent scenes of beatings Lou Ford, Amy. However, violence in the film is justified. Director does not revel in them, but simply shows it as it happens in reality, when the sado-masochistic relationship link lovers of young women with such a "nice boy scout", as Lou Ford.
Therefore, the main merit of Winterbottom directing is being misunderstood by many critics. And he just wanted to show a very thin novel's main idea in the film: people do most often kill and destroy precisely what they love. Murder in all senses of this word, and not necessarily so directly and brutally as did Lou Ford.

P.s.
Powerful, hard and extremely frank art-house psychological horror, thanks to the skills of Winterbottom and Casey Affleck demonstrated piercingly accurate portrait of a ruthless killer, who has long been psychologically dead. One of the best films in the noir genre, which has become a wonderful gift to Jim Thompson, died in abject poverty and oblivion, not waiting for a decent film adaptation of his favorite novel.
First trailer to the film “Predators”
Apparently, the movie "Predators" by Robert Rodriguez is closest to the first part of the cult author John McTiernan - the same jungle, even ethereal, the same dangerous Special Forces, driven into the trap of terrible suspense, sparkling with a hawk's eye in the thicket. Rodriguez's long-standing dream of the "Predator 3" which vanished after a miserable in every sense of the second part has been finally shot by director Nimrod Antalya in a record of 53 days.
Of the prominent works of Antalya which can be noted, perhaps the only tolerable is "Vacancy", but judging from the trailer, he knows what's what is predator. Few episodes of the film, featured in the video, cause considerable interest and habdabs. Rodriguez is, in turn, was a screenwriter and a producer of the movie.
The picture tells us about brutal mercies of earthlings by predators on the home planet of the last ones. Appointment of Adrian Brody in the role of chief a piece of cannon fodder at first it seemed very doubtful, but after watching the international trailer has every reason to believe that Adrian easily copes with this cool role. A dessert for predators will be Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Laurence Fishborne, Oleg Taktarov and the man whose name jealous of every self-respecting alien - Mahershalalhashbaz Ali.
Trailer sufficiently dynamic and invigorates the viewer eyes the remarkable action-cutting. The main actors are charismatic and colorful. Of course, Rodriguez is no Schwarzenegger, but he, in fact, moved radically different way, adopting the lead role of fine Brody, but if the "predator" will recreate the spirit of the first film, the success is assured.

Keira Knightley – brave pirate
Keira Knightley, was born in March 22, 1985 in a family of actors and writers in Teddington, a suburb of London. For three years, little Keira begged his mother to hire her own agent, who was looking for suitable projects for her participation.
At the age of six Knightley parents agreed to allow their daughter to have her agent, but under the condition that she would work hard every day during her summer vacation. For Keira, who grew up with a slight defect in development - dyslexia (when people cannot pronounce the long words), it was a great gift.
Initially, her main goal has remained diligent study in school, but little by little success on the actor's career began to become reality. Hard work by Keira on the development of her artistic skills soon began to bear fruits. Through its diligence and close resemblance with Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley hit the cast of the film "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" on the role of servant of Queen Amidala, played by Portman. This small but memorable role attracted her attention in Britain, and in the States, and after the movie was released in 1999, Knightley has the role of Rose Fleming in the miniseries "Oliver Twist".
After "Star Wars" and "Oliver Twist" everything went even better in actress biography. In 2001, Knightley starred in the success of British films "Hole", and in 2002 spent three months in Slovakia, filming in "Doctor Zhivago". But the real breakthrough for a great movie she got in 2002 with movie "Bend It like Beckham".
Summer 2003 marked the release of large movie hit - Hollywood blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" with Keira Knightley in the main female role. After the release of this epic adventure to the actress came true success, not comparable with the fact that she had received before. Now, many people speak about her. The film opened her way to Hollywood Olympus.
In one of the interviews Keira told about her success and life at all.
"In school I was a nerd. I have always been first raised my hand. My homework was done on time. I never had to stay after school. Now I'm ashamed to even talk about it, because this pattern of behavior is so boring! But then I focused on success in school and was very afraid that I can something fail. Therefore, acting game was for me a kind of salvation from possible failures in school. If the school went something wrong, I could always say: "But I can do it!" But now, when I finished school, I was nowhere to retreat. That is, I can't do something in film, there is no change I will not stay, and it scares me. Now that I have achieved such heights in my career, I'm still surprised how quickly it has come to me. The role in "Pirates of the Caribbean" I've got rather easy. My agent has phoned me and asked: "Would you like to play in this film?" I replied: "Of course!"
"Pirates of the Caribbean" became for me an unforgettable experience. Johnny Depp is simply amazing! He's a great guy and a phenomenally talented actor. The entire film crew was at both the selection is good, and we had a great time during the entire period of filming. In the film, I had to kiss Orlando Bloom himself, and it was just amazing! The film with such stars was so massive that I cannot imagine another larger project".
