Jôji Nakata biography
Joji Nakata was born in Tokyo, Japan on April 22, 1954, he is a
well-known Japanese voice artist. He attended Gakuen College of Drama
in Music, where he starred in various projects. Later, he started voice
acting, after Michiko Nomura personally recommended him, and since the
beginning of the 90s, he is doing very extensive voice work. Mr. Nakata
is affiliated with Osawa Office, and is most well known as the voices
of Giroro (Sgt. Frog), Amshel Goldsmith (Blood+), the Count of Monte
Cristo, Alucard (Hellsing), Kirei Kotomine (Fate/stay night) and
Diethard Reid in Code Geass and its sequel Code Geass Lelouch of
Rebellion R2.
To mention that Nakata is usually typecast as villain, because of his
strong and deep voice. He is known as (Corporal Giroro in Sgt. Frog) or
the narrator (Gokujou Seitokai). He has also voiced three major villain
characters for Type-Moon works (Nrvnsqr Chaos in Melty Blood, Kirei
Kotomine in Fate/stay night, Souren Araya in Kara no Kyoukai)and also
as Lord Folken in Escaflowne (2000), the movie. He is very active on
television, in theater animation and dubbing for foreign films.
