Jean Zarzour biography

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Jean Zarzour is a 30-year veteran performer in TV, Film, Theater, Radio, Dance, Improv and Corporate Communications in the U.S., England, Wales and Italy. Jean moved to New York when she was 17 years old and studied acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Stella Adler Conservatory. While studying, Jean was hired as a receptionist for Jim Henson Associates to answer phones, type actor rejection letters, sample marketing merchandise and sign Miss Piggy autographs. It was, by far, the best "real" job she has ever had! Later, Jean worked for Garth Associates (political consultant to Mario Cuomo and the Anderson Presidential Campaign) where she mastered the art of schmoozing politicians.

After 10 years in NY and Europe, she returned to Cleveland, where she has been based for over 20 years.

As Owner of Lipschtick, Jean has built a renowned reputation for putting the "Show" in "Business" with customized comedy and Laugh & Learn Workshops( for hundreds of corporations and associations, nationwide since 1989.

In 2005, Jean founded The GOT PAY? Organization, an artists advocacy and education resource. In 2006, Jean founded The Find Your Voice-Voice Over Institute, providing Voice Acting classes for TV, Film, Radio, Live Presentations and Voice Over Demo production at Cleveland's top recording studios. She has taught acting for, Stage, Radio, TV, Film and Movement For Actors at Brecksville Theater On The Sq., The Beck Center, Playhouse Square Foundation, Wake Up & Live Actors Studio, The Cleveland Film Society and taught dance at 3 studios in London, England.

Jean has been recognized by The Scene Magazine, Free Times, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cleveland Magazine, Crain's Cleveland, Sun Newspapers, Cleveland City Music and twice by theater critic, Roy Berko, for her achievements as an actor and owner of Lipschtick. She has had articles published in The Scene Magazine, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Sun Newspapers and Cleveland Business Connects Magazine. Jean is a proud and grateful member of AFTRA, SAG, AEA and VASTA.
