Michael Thornberry biography

Michael Thornberry was raised on a ranch in Southeast Texas where he grew up fishing, boxing, working cattle and enjoying rural life. An avid outdoorsman and accomplished horseman, during his youth, Michael traveled extensively throughout Alaska, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and South America for outdoor adventure.

Thornberry developed a love for and expertise in both boxing and acting early in his life, combining athletic prowess with finely tuned technical skills in both disciplines. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agriculture Development, he was a professional cruiserweight boxer, undefeated during his entire career (10-0,8ko's).

Upon retiring his pro boxing gloves, Michael Thornberry moved to New York City where he studied acting with the acclaimed acting coach Terry Schreiber, attended film school, participated in theater productions such as "Cowboy Mouth" and "The Man Who Had All the Luck" and acted in and produced the short film "Oldham County".

In his first feature film role, Thornberry played the role of Swedish boxing champion, Ingomar Johanssen, in Ali "King of the World". Shortly after relocating to Los Angeles Michael was selected as a voiceover artist in the feature film "Hancock."

- Began competing as an amateur boxer when he was eight years old and before entering the professional ranks had over 80 amateur bouts.
- Is in the Guinness Book of World Records for selling a pen of five chickens for $60,000 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was nine years old.
- Was one of eight head-coordinators for "Aggie Bonfire" at Texas A&M University while attending school there.
