Dwight Sora biography
Dwight Sora is half-Japanese (father) and half-Korean (mother).
Grew up in the Chicago suburb of River Forest.
Younger brother Linus Sora works for the international planning and
design firm MCM Group in Los Angeles.
Attended Oak Park River Forest High School, 1987-1991. Fellow students
during that time included actor/writer Tom Lennon ('88), actress Kate
Norby ('94), award-winning stage composer/sound designer Ben Sussman
('90) and astronomer Chad Trujillo ('91).
Graduated from the University of Chicago in 1995 with a B.A. in East
Asian Languages & Civilizations.
Has studied the Japanese martial art of aikido since 1993 and holds a
rank of nidan (second degree black belt). Started while an exchange
student attending Waseda University in Tokyo.
Understudied for actors Andrew Pang and Keong Sim during the Chicago run
of "After the Quake" at Steppenwolf Theatre.
Provided voiceover for a 2008 industry launch video for the Nintendo E3
Animal Crossing City Folk game.
Fiancee Czerina Salud is featured singing in a 2009 commercial for the
Dove/Walmart Real Beauty campaign.
Is a big fan of British science fiction shows. Avidly watches both the
old and new versions of Doctor Who.
Participated in workshops and readings of the play "Year Zero" by
Michael Golamco at Chicago Dramatists and Victory Gardens Theater, but
lost out on casting when the play went into production.
Part of the Jeff-nominated cast of a 2010 Chicago production of "Twelve
Angry Men" staged by the Raven Theatre.
